  1. 2 am ... so we are to assume all those witnesses were drunk, hookers or customers of. Sorry, couldn't help myself
  2. News is news & verifiable. Op-ed are opinions, and much of is passed off as news, with 'informed source', 'anonymous source' or no source, unverifiable, and contrary to other real sources or simply common sense. Some people actually can tell the difference.
  3. You never had a single vehicle accident or hit a curb when not paying attention, as that's all it takes. That she happen to be next to a ditch is unfortunate, but surely wasn't driving that fast. Looks fine for being in an 'accident'.
  4. It's called plea bargaining ... ... how many will have a simple trespassing 'conviction' expunged after their probation period. Here's a clue: "Another 385 have pleaded guilty to misdemeanors."
  5. DUI was not confirmed, and what would be the difference if man or woman out at 2 AM ? Who cares the why ? I've been out at 2 am, especially if at the beach, and behaving myself. Not everyone out at 2 am is a drunk, hooker or customer of.
  6. Look at your last bill / meter reading. You do NOT want to go into the negative. So need to pay attention to what you are exporting. Are the components of your system approved components by PEA standards, on their list. Did you/wife apply for grid feed in compensation or your installer, if using. If applied, and not approved to export for compensation, I would expect a digital meter will be installed in the near future. Stay on the positive side of your meter reading, till PEA makes a decision on you application for feed in compensation. Take note when you meter was read last, and don't export couple days before or after that date. You don't want them to see the meter running in reverse.
  7. Ascertaining or understanding. I know what I know, not what people, govt or media tells me. I can sort the difference. Obviously from the discussions, most can not.
  8. If exporting & not compensated ... yes, wasted production. You should be able to turn export off in the inverter's settings. All things being equal, your system will generate whatever the load is. With grid tie in, if not generating enough, then draws off the grid, and the opposite, when generating more than needed, will export excess to the grid. I labelled the graph to help explain, and added the night time. When have ESS/battery storage of excess, our system production goes to load & batteries, till topped up, then simply allows in, as much is needed for the house load. Since grid turned off, overnight, we'll draw off the ESS/battery storage till start producing enough after sunrise, about 0700 hrs for us. Stops producing enough about 1700 hrs, so back to the ESS. So we're about 10hr on solar, 14 hrs on ESS.
  9. If can't turn grid off, simply note the meter reading before production/sunrise, then at sunset. Should be within the ballpark of your consumption vs production difference.
  10. If conx to grid, then yes, drawing from. Turn the grid off, if possible for your solar production/consumption. Your app may have filters to show all, consumed, produced, exported, purchased. Mine does. Assuming you don't have ESS/batteries for storage of excess produced. Our system produces just enough to cover consumption, once batteries topped up, as we don't export, or import, since we have grid turned off. Prior to that, new digital meter and grid tie in, the app showed consumption/production & import/export from grid. Now basically off grid, so production is usually a tad more than consumption.
  11. That people take anything as factual, that comes from your gov't or media sources is all a bit telling, and explains a lot. Move on to something you actually know the facts about. That won't be coming from your govt or media. That is a FACT ... ????
  12. If had $1 mill liquid, wouldn't move to Thailand.
  13. Net worth, assuming more than enough liquid to enjoy life. Whether equity, in bank or pocket. If own your home & car, and have $1 mill, you be rich in my book. Almost impossible to spend, if not frivolous shopping.
  14. Not you're just trolling me. Sound like a 5 yr old asking questions. With ever answer comes another 'why?' Obvious men's sports brings in more money. Need proof: who holds the remote control in your house. ?
  15. Why do you think it doesn't ? Advertiser spend where it will be watched, fine example; men's basketball ... vs ... women's basketball USA football vs USA soccer Men's Golf vs Women's Golf On a different level: Action movies w/guns vs chicky love stories. Can't pay the big money if you don't bring it in.
  16. Because it's way off topic. I think, but since behind a paywall, may be incorrect. Sit corrected, not behind a paywall ... so on topic, and will be never ending discussion. Peace Out
  17. Who ever brings in the money, gets the bigger prize money. Economics 101 Want to earn more, produce more. Simple enough.
  18. That would be equality in sports. Division when it suits you defeats the claim of wanting equality.
  19. All irrelevant, as if the insurance company deems the car a write off or repairable doesn't matter. The 'max' coverage is just that. As long as they pay the covered amount, as with any insurance policy. ICE or EV ... all the same. What are you really trying to state ?
  20. Almost EVERY economy is on the verge of collapse, actually well past it, and already bankrupt. If they said it out loud, the Central Banking system would collapse, and the puppeteers would lose all that interest income. USA as a simple example. Keep raising the debt ceiling. Try that with your CC and see what they say ???? "I can't make my bills, can I borrow some more ?" ???? ... nuff said
  21. I say that all the time, that's why I spend it, as it's worth more today, than tomorrow. Oops & inheritance funds are there for that. Anything else, Social Security & pension, gets spent, and thankfully, that's actually hard to do some times, since a Cheap A$$ Charlie/thrifty shopper. Just waiting for rainy season and those O&As.
  22. Why ? Info like that is only to make you feel small or large, depending what side of the scale you're on, and not useful to either. I'm apparently rich, as one member pointed out recently, though having enough simply seems like common sense. I may have hit the 1% tax bracket a couple years, but rich, I don't think so, very far from it. Rich is hitting the 5% bracket every year. Rich is $1 mill & no debt. Comfy is just more than enough & no debt. Comfy is good. F'd up is not being able to rustle up $1000 if needed. I'm still poor enough, that I don't even have to file taxes ????????????????????????
  23. As are all headlines, especially most of the silly ones on AN. Do the mass readership or population really need to know what people have in the bank ? That info is totally irrelevant to our everyday life. That 60% of Yanks stating they couldn't rustle up $1000 is a bit of a concern.... ...for them. Oh well, sucks being them.
  24. Use Thai address & account for SS, and have DD Use USA address & account (brokerage) for pension as required. Only correspondence w/SS is 7162 & 1099 via mail (TH PO Box) Brokerage all online. Pension 1099 to USA address, which I never see or need to ????
