    Brownies

I always grab a few (6) when 2 for 1, as the freeze nicely. 1 box (6 pcs) goes fast with me & the dog, so no worries of going stale. Not up there with the 'Betty Crocker/Duncan Hines' chewy fudge brownies, easy enough to do yourself out of the box mix, but a quick & easy snack, and cheap enough.
  2. Location location location ... fresher air, live below Chumphon. The humidity 60-80% would be more an issue vs AQI of 50+. Thailand isn't for everyone, but neither is most other places if having health issues.
  3. Miserable is a state of mind, nothing to do with 'chosen' environment. I could be just as happy living minimalistic, as with a house & garden. All I need is a bedroom and decent kitchen (eat in is fine), as I enjoy cooking for myself. Balcony for fresh air, or nearby park/surf, for watching a bit of nature. Simplistic and inexpensive here. I've lived in some c r a p neighborhood, (USA) and highs and lows of life, but I really don't think I've ever been miserable. Easy to adapt & adjust to anything the affects your smile. We are talking about retirement (or close to it) ages and living. If you haven't figured it out yet, location isn't going help. Some welcome minimalistic, less expensive and hassle free. I've done both, and they both work for me.
  4. If all you can afford is a shoebox fan room in TH, then I guess it's better than being homeless elsewhere. What does $70/฿2500 or less, a month get you in your home country ? There's 2 bdrm townhouse near me for $100/฿3500, 1.5 kms from the surf, 5-10 min walk to 7-11 & Makro. ฿10k gets you something quite comfy, condo with pool, gym, or a townhouse if needing more space.
  5. Pretty sure that's not the reason, as would think most of building and roadway are less than 20 - 30 years old. At 3.3mm a year, that's not much of a rise. At that rate, 10 yrs is all of 3.3 cm. Poor planning is more likely the reason. "“Thanks to satellite and tide gauge data, we know that sea level is rising about 3.3 millimeters (0.13 inches) a year," https://climate.nasa.gov/ask-nasa-climate/2974/cant-see-sea-level-rise-youre-looking-in-the-wrong-place/
  6. Not personally familiar with any, although have peeked on display at malls or internet, and all seem to be lead acid batteries, which I wouldn't recommend. Only know of one brand that has lithium batteries, and only because I have one of their motorcycles and quite happy with that. Here's link w/specs: https://decogreenenergy.com/index.php/th/product-deco/electric-motorcycles/family-1 https://decogreenenergy.com/index.php/th/product-deco/electric-motorcycles/family-2 They have another 3 wheeler, w/2 seats: https://decogreenenergy.com/index.php/th/product-deco/electric-motorcycles/family-3
  7. Hell NO Wife paints, not just the house, but on canvas, and is crafty with most other things one would buy. And if I bought something from a vendor .... ... what's one of those deadly sins, 'wrath' ... I'm staying clear of that one ????
  8. If watching Terminal List, don't give after EP 1 & 2, thinking it's going in a predictable, boring, 'that was a long way to get there' ending. EP 3, things change very quick. Still have the rest to watch, but looks headed in the right direction now.
  9. NEWS FLASH ... it's always been available. It's always been inexpensive. Nothing has changed, except people are now paying way too much for it. You think all these plants matured, got harvested overnight ? One day illegal, next day legal and tons available the same day. Take a look FB, they're selling this stuff by the kg. Worker at our house build offered her a kg, since she got some kratom from him. I'm going test that stuff out myself, the ganga, and may open a franchise ourselves.
  10. I think you're missing he point. Not much has or will change. Those that smoked in the past will continue. Those that did & didn't have a source, now do, abet, prices enough to deter many. Especially if 1st timers, and spend 5-6-700 baht, and guessing a few are thinking .... " that's it, c r a p, I could have bought a box of beer " 20 yrs old to buy legally, if not, guess it doesn't matter how old you are, you'll get it, the same as alcohol. Health benefits, detriments ... arguable. Smoking is never good, but, at least you won't get arrested for something you were already doing. Only thing that has changed, is the decriminalization of a really mild stimulant, that should benefit way more than anything negative, for those that need it medically. As soon as they sort out how, nice tax revenue earner. Help support that universal healthcare. OK, in theory.???? NO, it's not an entry drug, or will NOT lead to more decriminalization of hard drugs. I would think the opposite. Alcohol always has been & will be the entry level for everyone. Drugs, like so many things are NOT the problem.... PEOPLE ARE.
  11. Yes, realize that. 2nd link though dated, pointed out the slump in chicken sales, and I guess more people eating in, and no tourist here would account for that. So produces looked and possibly found better price, and 2 yrs of exports, have caught up with the domestic pricing. OR ... just gouging.
  12. I think it's been around a lot longer than you think: "Thai Cannabis Strains to be Listed as National Heritages" https://bloom.express/thai-government-approved-strains/
  13. If the Saudis are paying a better price, than selling here, maybe. So much for 'Thai for Thai' https://www.poultryworld.net/the-industrymarkets/market-trends-analysis-the-industrymarkets-2/saudi-arabia-lifts-18-year-ban-on-thai-chicken/ Supply & demand ... maybe, if they keep shipping it out. Oh well. Isn't this the time the Govt should have import/export limits on essentials, instead of concentrating on Gulfstreams, subs & f35s. From an old news blip: "Countries that import Thai chicken meat include: Japan, Britain, the Netherlands, Hong Kong, Ireland, Canada, South Korea and Singapore, and countries in which Thailand has a low market share include the US, Belgium, Denmark, Austria, Sweden, Britain, Germany, Hong Kong, Saudi Arabia, China, France, Netherlands, United Arab Emirates, Mexico, Iraq, Angola, South Africa, Philippines and Taiwan." https://www.poultryworld.net/poultry/thailand-to-boost-chicken-exports-after-50-fall-in-domestic/
  14. "How long does it take to get strep throat once exposed? It usually takes two to five days for someone exposed to group A strep to become ill with strep throat. It is important to know that some infected people do not have symptoms or seem sick. People sick with strep throat are much more contagious than those who do not have symptoms." https://www.cdc.gov/groupastrep/diseases-public/strep-throat.html
  15. That depends how you look at the 'mandates' and what they actually say. Many mandate state so many % of EVs by a certain date, with an 'IF POSSIBLE' clause. Meaning if grid or other reason, won't support the mandate, it may be modified at that future time. Disrupting the grid purposely, by limiting available production, by limited fossil fuel burning would do that. Actually giving big oil/fossil fuel suppliers a much longer life span. You'd be surprise how things may or may not happen behind closed doors. Got to look at the big picture and the long game. Just a thought ...
  16. I used for hotel check ins when asked for ID, as they can't process that with Imm, since not having all info required on it. Hence before they did away with the TM30 silliness, we didn't have to file one every time out of province, which was quite often. As far is imm is concerned, I never leave home ????
  17. Your 12 months of bank statement have to have the tracking on it. It's in there computers, and some employees know where to look, others will call & get assistance, and....others will tell you, sorry no have. I just got 7 months of statements printed out (posted sample above), and the employee that did it, needed to make a phone call, for help. Then as she printed them off, stated " I've never these entries before " ... I'll be looking for her for the other 6 months to be printed off. If you get 6 months at a time, BBL won't make you wait a week. Employee dependent, obviously. Don't ask, as I don't have the answer why. I'm getting them printed off in advance, as I get a new PP, and my visa expires first week of Nov, which means my Nov DD & expiration are going to be days apart ????
  18. Yea, but we're, and me, ain't there. Not that it matters. Long ways before the breaking point of the populous...anywhere. Thais will simply stop or slow buying the silly priced stuff, until it comes back down. Expect a larger and louder protests next year if something doesn't happen. So much for freezing the meat prices last month, same as diesel, seems every other week they let rise up another 1 baht. People will tire of the BS soon, then they'll just bring it down to half the silly increase, and everyone will be thankful. Sadly, accept that as the new normal ... ???? Think I'll have a coop, free eggs, and stick with local seafood. May have to invest in a kayak and a good rod with some trolling lines ... oh yea. Exercise & dinner
  19. Don't worry, I'll boreA$$ the hell out of y'all after it arrives ... ???? Surely keeping close track of first 5k kms; around town at NEDC/WTLP speeds, and popping up to Hua Hin, down to Ban Krut as 90 kph testers, maybe 120. See if that 40% use (40-80% ) around town gives those rated ranges. Keeping at 40-80% for long battery life. Arrive hopefully before Xmas ????
  20. Maybe he found a place cheaper than WalMart ... doubtful https://www.walmart.com/browse/food/chicken/976759_9569500_1001443
  21. Yes & NO. Percentage wise, yea, not the majority preference, out of the closet anyway. Your friends and associate wise, you'd be very surprised how many ARE bisexual. Best friend, grew up together, drinking buddy and I always knew he was bisexual, as never hid it from me. More all gay now, later half, 30 yrs of his life, as chickies aren't worth the headache (his words). When 'out', you'd be amazed how many more 'new' married & single friends he has now... ????
  22. Actually, they're geniuses, multi millionaires & billionaires ... ... we're the idiots that tolerate it. Why do you think they took all your guns away ??? Certainly wasn't for YOUR safety ... UP THE REVOLUTION ????
  23. Actually bought a house one time (estate sale), on CC/cash advance for 9k USD (1990 ish). Paid brother to bring it up to specs for 6k, lived in it for a while, rented it out, than sold it for 30k couple years later, to the same bother, who had it appraised at 65k, then took out a low interest loan against it, to pay off his high interest CC bills. Making other people's money work for you is actually quite easy & profitable. Creative financing ????
  24. Saw that, though I'm too impatient to wait for that to be mass produced at an affordable price. I'll just have to suffer the relaxing walk with the dog, a relaxing meal after 3 or 4 hours of driving while the battery tops up at a CS, IF I even bother driving further rather than simply checking into the hotel/GH and plug in there. Endure the hardship of chilling poolside and taking a swim or having a beverage & pastry on the balcony while topping up. Buddha forbid a little 'quality' time with wife while charging up. Sheer hell, and simply don't know how I'll manage ????
  25. Since the one site has sold out, and since restocked, I'd say more than a few are quite happy to pay 700/gr (-10% promo) delivered to their door for free. Not myself of course, but I also won't pay 100 baht for a beer either, unless it or I, am somewhere special to warrant it.
