  1. Whoa ... 158 ... sucks being there. That's SE of us, and winds coming from the W. If our PM2.5 is 17µg/m³, then we can't be nowhere near that AQI # We keep air indoors at single digits Pollution now would be local or from Myanmar, as winds are coming from west.
  2. I'd be surprised if he makes it to trial ???? "After his arrest, Monahan was briefly taken to the Washington County Correctional Facility in Fort Edward (where Gillis's father is a correctional officer). Monahan was then taken 45 miles (72 km) away to Warren County, where he is being held at the Warren County Jail in Lake George."
  3. Yep, why they're a wee bit insignificant to me. Besides being irrelevant. People should stop using fossil fuel & drive EVs for the local air pollution. Screw the temp or trying to 'save the planet', as you simply can't, or are even trying to. Save my / our lungs ???? And stop cutting trees down, it's not a renewable source, unless you can grow 'em faster than you're cutting down, and you're not.
  4. Not sure about that, as my brothers (and family) & myself aren't very sedentary. Friends without a bit more funds, get O&A locally, statewide areas, or just stay in the Americas.
  5. Beats the hell out of Hua Hin @ 150+ and they do have meters there ????
  6. Yes, A Muang This week, sucks, between AQI 50-75 at the house. IQair stating higher, but haven't a clue where they source their info, as state on site, no meter/contributor of theirs here. Probably 'sat' info. PM2.5 not a whole better, hence the sucks part. 20 ish last time I checked this afternoon. windy.com is saying 17µg/m³ now. Indoors w/filters, no problem. It was nice 10ish days ago, and I actually thought smog season was over, till this week. Hopefully rain before the end of the month.
  7. You didn't pay attention in class: "The United States government is a federal republic with three separate branches of government. It has a bicameral legislature composed of the House of Representatives, a lower house determined by state population; and the Senate, an upper house based on equal representation for each state." When asked upon exiting the Constitutional Convention Benjamin Franklin was approached by a group of citizens asking what sort of government the delegates had created, a Republic, or a Monarchy ... His answer was: "A republic, if you can keep it."
  8. They are the exact same firearm that kill most people. PEACE OUT
  9. Biden could issue an executive order, banning sales. That's good for 6 months, or till it reaches the SCOTUS. Giving them time to propose a change to the 2nd. Let's be realistic, the Brady Bill had a built in expiration date ... ... W T F ... if that doesn't tell they aren't serious, then nothing does. 30 years of talking ???? with that though .... PEACE OUT
  10. The Brady Bill was when .... 30 yrs ago .... it ain't that slow. An executive order could STOP all sales, then before 2024 election, it/2nd Amendment could be change ... ... IF THEY WANTED TO "On December 18, 1917 a constitutional amendment to prohibit alcohol was proposed in the Senate, and in October 1919 Congress passed the Volstead Act (National Prohibition Act)"
  11. Empty Nest ... ... they grow up so fast, then leave you ... ???????????? Yesterday ... Today ...
  12. Once these laws make it through the system and finally the SCOTUS, and IF making it pass them. That's when the Federal Gov't will pass similar legislation, knowing it will pass. Legislation, like crime, the prevention of, prosecution, of and incarceration of convicted is big business. Wouldn't want to solve things too fast. Lawyers, lobbyist, rehabs, private prisons, law enforcement departments, and arms manufacturers got to milk the system for decades. Yes, they could change the 2nd Amendment, and ban firearms tomorrow... ... IF WANTING TO And what does that tell you. Besides, it's a great divisive distraction.
  13. Got a different take on that, but agree, 2 kinds of people: ... those that believe & trust all the BS they're told ... those that don't trust anything they are told, as been told so many lies in the past, they now know better. If there is money to be make, then I don't believe a damn thing they tell.
  14. It's called a Republic, and why some folks shouldn't join in the conversation.????
  15. Why do you have the NEED to shoot a deer? ... I don't, even stated it earlier, and implied in other threads. Has a deer ever hunted you for your meat? ... ???? You can buy the deer meat in a supermarket. ... that would defeat the purpose, and 25kg of free venison works for many.
  16. All the people (gun owners) I knew, not 1 owned an AR-15, or anything like it. I'm going with personal knowledge & experience. And from wiki: "Hunting Many hunters prefer using AR-15 style rifles because of their versatility, accuracy, wide variety of available features, and wide variety of calibers (see below).[89] Collapsible stocks are convenient for hunters who pack their rifles into remote hunting locations or for length of pull adjustments to fit any sized hunter.[90] Construction with lightweight polymers and corrosion-resistant alloys makes these rifles preferred for hunting in moist environments with less concern about rusting or warping wood stocks. Positioning of the AR-15 safety is an improvement over traditional bolt action hunting rifles. Many states require hunters to use reduced-capacity magazines. If a hunter misses with a first shot, the self-loading feature enables rapid follow-up shots against dangerous animals like feral pigs or rapidly moving animals like jackrabbits.[89] Hunters shooting larger game animals often use upper receivers and barrels adapted for larger cartridges or heavier bullets. Several states prohibit the use of .22 caliber cartridges like the .223 Remington on large game."
  17. Seriously ... ???? "sample of 2,104 gun owners, including 399 AR-15-style rifle owners" Next time they might want to ask the folks in Wisconsin, with over four million people with registered hunting licenses, tags, permits, and stamps (2021). Also, wouldn't the #1 use be 'self defense', since simply there 365 days a year. Those that hunt (legally), only get a week or 2 in some states. So if answering a poll, what would come to someone's mind first as an answer.
  18. Actually they, America Flintlocks for hunting used 30, 45, 50 & 55 caliber ball. Not something you want to get hit by. And yet, we read about loonies stopped, before & during a shooting by law abiding, firearm carrying folks ... go figure.
  19. And you would know that how ? The .223 is a popular round for hunting, and varmint shooting on the ranch. The Ruger Mini 14 was advertised originally as a 'ranch' rifle. Will agree, many do buy the AR-15 for their ego, since it gets so much press, and looks military. Frankly I think it's overrated & extremely overpriced. Pretty easy to accessorize, if that's what you're into, but can also do that with many, again, such as the Mini-14. And that comes in SS ????
  20. Please stop calling them automatic weapons ... it sound silly and implies much ignorance. Different states have different hunting rules & seasons, and what can or can not be used. Not much difference if you shoot 1 round at a time, and reload, or have a mag of 5. Though if hunting, you'll only need or get off 1 round. One could guess, it's so idiots don't try to keep shooting at a moving target. Maybe a hunter can chime in to clarify, as I am not.
  21. probably because I mentioned 'search engine' in the post immediately before yours. ????
  22. I only drink real milk. Calories I don't mind, but prefer not to have 25 ish % of my saturated fat for the day in 1 small serving of milk. Doesn't leave much room for my other 'vices'.
  23. Next time you go hunting for deer, try using a 22 short. Then again, I guess you could shoot 20 or 30 times, then track it down & cut it's throat. You know, the humane way to hunt ... ???? Same way with home protection, use that 22 short ... ???? Some people with NO firearm knowledge, really shouldn't post. "How can any country keep guns away from loonies?" You can't .... that's why some folks prefer an equal playing field. Hence the problem of keeping firearms away from law abiding folks.
  24. Maybe because someone asked, or needs a bit of help, when negotiating sites with a krappy search feature. Why would you care ?
  25. shh ... I know that .. as always, moderation I cut way back, and try to keep it under 400ml a day vs 1 L, as was prior usual amount, or more????
