  1. hmmm ... assembling & dumping your trash in the sea, and calling it an 'artificial reef' Mixed thoughts on that, although in 10 years I may be very nice down there.
  2. Finally watched the vid, and get the impression, a younger man may of easily survived, aside from possibly a few broken bones. Unless of course you snapped your neck. Car moving forward (slowly), and him slowing considerably, along with going up & over, and falling off to the side from the roof. No noticeable damage to front tire, as I've actually broke a mag on a pot hole once here. Wonder what actually caused his demise, possible a rib through something important, if not severe neck injury. R I P
  3. Sucks if you're a smoker, but I'm all for that ... no cig smoking period. Ban the sale of completely would be even better. Save more than a few lives. I don't know anyone who hasn't already, or would love to quit. Everyone I know smoked because of the addiction, not any pleasure of it. The habitual social aspect of it faded fast once they quit.
  4. Actually one of the SAIC - Wuling production models, the Baojun E100 is badge as 'GM', and comes out of their 'joint' production line, as do other, under different badges; Volkswagen, Skoda, Audi, GMs-Buick, Chevrolet, Cadillac in different markets. I'm partial to the Baojun E300, as looking very futuristic ... ???? Already available for Left Handed Traffic, marketed in India.
  5. Actually for the experienced toker, it's quite easy to tell, sight, smell, touch, and not much different from buying meats or fruits and veggies at the fresh market.
  6. Chulalongkorn University scientist and professor .... ... he's an embarrassment to both professions. Seems people will say anything, just to see their name in print. Don't let this happen to you ...
  7. If they allow us to sell it, I may become a farmer. Hell of a profit margin. Beats trying to make money selling green & red peppers, broccoli or asparagus here ???? Then I'll crying ... .... "Pain and blisters on my mind and handsI work all day making up nickel bags" Besides fruit bearing plants, what we plan on planting now, as damn expensive at the market. Actually just to eat ourselves. Not expecting much of a surplus. Good Bye ... 'Hotel California' ... ????
  8. I disagree, as I expect humans to do something stupid, and drive very defensively, worldwide. When on my scooter, it's the dogs & monkeys that worry me, as may cut across my path without warning, completely unexpected, if seeing something of interest on the other side of the road. Defensive driving is the key. Notice all those pick up trucks loaded down with wares, coconuts, pineapples plowing the motorways, avoiding the left hand lane, along with many other trucks. Knowing they are traveling at speed, and won't be able to stop on a sip baht, if someone should suddenly appear in their lane. Thai drivers simply driving defensively, annoying as it can be sometimes, when you are trying to cruise at that 120 kph limit. Nobody in there right mind cruises at speed in the left lane, or hugs the left side of that lane, especially if passing market area or side street. That uncommon common sense again.
  9. It will be the same as every other 'vice' people prefer to indulge in or avoid. Sextourist will go where it's offered, others, won't even notice it exists, with few exceptions. If not looking for it, you probably won't find or be exposed to it. Nobody drags people off the street and forces them to P4P, drink alcohol, and now, smoke ganga. Same as the party, alcohol crowd, if wanting you'll find, if not, you won't notice. Ganga will be no different. Just another silly thing for the TAT to advertise to entice as many as possible to visit TH. It's their job, and apparently, they are pretty good at it. Shy of 40 mill in 2019. Nobody avoids the museums in Amsterdam (excellent BTW), because of the ladies behind the glass or the 'tea shops'. Many, most will walk by, out of curiosity maybe and think, "that's it, that's a tourist attraction, wow, some people are just plain stupid, who would bother". Sort of fits with my opinion of 90% of the 'tourist attractions' in Thailand; overprice Nat. Park, or another Wat. Only reason to go near either, is there may be some good food vendors about. OK, saw that, did that, don't need the t-shirt, lets go get some coffee & cheesecake. I'll pick next time...dumbass
  10. The buds I see being advertised at the 'smoke cafes' certainly aren't the .2% version. BUT ... outrageously priced also. Again, Thailand 'tourism Empire' seems to be just a continuation of their imaginary self. Thailand being one of the last places, I would visit as a regular tourist, for any reason.
  11. All about profit & tax revenue. Actually pretty embarrassing as a society that not only tolerates it, but endorses it. I'm all for freedom of the ability to kill ourselves through our vices, but does it need to be glorified through most media.
  12. I've never seen a Thai do that ... ... in the Americas, as the only other countries I've ever driving in. I've only noticed Americans, inclusive, of driving, sometimes, not as others wished they did. Who hasn't driven, and pulled out in front of someone, and thought to themselves ... "oops, sorry" Almost 6 pages of Thai bashing, assumed, when nobody knows exactly what happen. I just want to know, how the scooter landed upside down. Now that is quite the feat. DISCLAIMER: did not read all 6 pages, as first 10 comments were enough to set the stage. R I P
  13. They're inexpensive now, but range is limited. Not sure if you've seen this photo before. There is also a 3000w / 72v50Ah model available, but a bit pricey @ ฿74k:
  14. Is this the ebike shop: https://www.bkkebike.com/e-bike-thailand?gclid=CjwKCAjw46CVBhB1EiwAgy6M4icqfpXsSKoDelk9oC75Yo4zZ-xBQsj1mmVyNj4hc6ZID31nI0-1WhoC-rkQAvD_BwE
  15. I don't believe so, and if so, probably silly priced. e-bike is easy, and I converted my Schwinn to one, and really enjoy it. e-bikes also available, though good ones are a bit pricey, depends on your use. Wouldn't discount China made / imported / Thai assembled of same, e-motorcycles, whole of part. Quite like mine, and very practical for around town, within 50 kms, Range is a kill joy on e-motorcycles. Local use only, IMHO, unless spending silly ... extremely silly money.
  16. Before you stamp out, you may want to ask what that crossing requires, when you return.
  17. On rare occasion I do make a vid, try my best not to have other folks in it, as I don't want them in, and for their privacy. I'll usually turn away, if I notice someone making vid, not sure why, as I'm not wanted anywhere .... that I know of. Also have to admit, to photo/vid bombing people on occasion.
  18. They already had a few local news-blip about it, and ฿699k w/฿120k incentive = ฿579k (older info) or adjusted now, to that 600k ballpark. ARUN+, I think, might be producing in Thailand, and that is 100% owned by PTT, so I wonder... ... PTT Park stations will likely be making the adjustment, so a line of EV chargers can be squeezed in there somewhere, until the switch to all EVs is complete.???? ARUN / PTT producing EVs ... no writing on the walls there ... ???? If translation & source is correct: "(12 May 2022) Hozon Auto, the new electric car brand from China. Has signed a contract with ARUN+ (a company in which PTT owns 100%) by procuring ARUN+ to produce and assemble electric vehicles in Thailand, where Hozon will conduct another major distribution via Neta Auto (Thailand) Co., Ltd." "– Maximum speed 110 – 120 KM/H (the system speed can be unlocked)" https://thethaiger.com/th/news/570775/ https://autolifethailand.tv/neta-v-ev-full-electric-thailand-coming-may-2022/ Page 11 post ... click on Saturday at 1044
  19. After the plants are going well, and you want to expand the garden: A few more tips, if searching that channel using 'pruning' in search box: https://www.youtube.com/c/YorkRiverCannabis/search?query=pruning
  20. Agree 100%, the Anti EV'ers just don't get it. Everything seems a long ways off (well for the closed minded) ... ... until it's not. Who ever thought you'd be able to buy any new MG in Thailand, ever ? Or a MG 3 ... and yet Or a MG SUV ... but OMG, there's another Or a MG EV - hybrid or BEV ... and yet, ... keep telling me it's all a long ways off, again. Tell me again how expensive they are. Tell me again how there's no charging station network. Tell me again, after the warranty, how the batteries are dead and car useless Tell me again how it depreciates to 'worthless' in 10 yrs, but an ICE won't depreciate much. Tell me again how little you understand about EVs.
  21. Honey ... get the dog, load up the car, my back is acting up .... road trip ...
  22. You haven't stopped at PTT with my wife, after the toilet, coffee, pastry, shopping, food court, snacks, 7-11, and of course, take the dog for a sniff, anything under an hour is a blessing ... ???? Any top up would be finish way before we're done. So 30 mins would go by fast.
  23. Unless growing your own good stuff (10-20%), then it really isn't cheap to buy, and support that 'hobby'. Guess in line with alcohol & cigs, if having no will power. 0.2% isn't worth the cough, if that's what you're stuck with. May put a strain on families' budget, same a alcohol, along with slight increase in crime, though guessing that element already has their illegal supply, and not much will really change.
  24. I hear you, although I find plugging in the e-scooter, a lot more convenient than topping up the Honda Wave of days past. Especially since the local PTT isn't on the way to anything, actually annoying unless going to Global House for some reason ... rare.
