  1. In between, meaning half way between the 2 ... to Bkk sucks, to HH not too bad. It's as safe as your experience and driving is. Is the 5 hrs round trip, to each destination from your home ? Certainly wouldn't be my choice. If an option, I'd stay at the one I need to be near. Use the train to get to the other, possible buy a small used scooter to use once there, if actually needed. Depending what 'weekly' means.
  2. If my earlier replies weren't self explanatory, there isn't much I could add that you would understand, or believe. The 'red pill' doesn't work on a closed mind.
  3. Don't search 'in' their website as their search engine sucks. Is this what you are looking for: https://www.lazada.co.th/products/citric-acid-monohydrate-500-i2502987403-s8852801794.html?exlaz=d_1:mm_150050845_51350205_2010350205::12:12654756915!117524295342!!!pla-293946777986!c!293946777986!8852801794!510730434&gclid=Cj0KCQjwkruVBhCHARIsACVIiOzPL3ghOlpox3TfnyYpg47vyXFFNfjhIfFab1aCqYIi5B8REYa77j4aAjToEALw_wcB
  4. Whoa ... good thread, as reading the replies, I'm feeling kind of blessed ????
  5. I personally wasn't a big fan of those boats. Not sure about the 'fare doubling', as still seem quite reasonable, and boats, cats, look much more comfortable. No Sat/Sun kind of makes sense, since most were commuter, and no tourist here. Not sure why many people expect business to run at a loss. Website still showing older boats, so a bit of misinformation. Along with current YT vid, of same, but looking 'refreshed', and empty, which explains a lot. https://www.chaophrayaexpressboat.com/home?lang=en
  6. "Vitamin D synthesis is highly dependent on the concentration of melanin in the skin as melanin absorbs and scatters UVR-B, resulting in a less efficient conversion of 7-dehydrocholesterol to previtamin D3. Therefore, dark-skinned individuals will experience slower vitamin D synthesis than light-skinned ones" https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4067096/#:~:text=Vitamin D synthesis is highly, synthesis than light-skinned ones.
  7. That would be the final straw for anyone still believing in the election / appointment process. "If voting made any difference, they wouldn't let us do it." - Mark Twain
  8. Clothes are a sign of intelligence ... ???? "Better dressed' can definitely afford to pay more ... just a thought.
  9. My experience was with Bkk Hosp chain up NE, and the ward was not someplace I'd want to spend the night. #1 ... no AC, goes downhill from there ????
  10. I also, and continue to predict it WILL get warmer, until, it starts cooling off, toward the next ice age. Why, how hot, and how long to peak, like everyone else, haven't a clue, as it's only a guess, as the particulars, are ever changing.
  11. Y'all actually think there is a fundamental difference between the 'left' & the 'right' ? ???? They all look like a bunch of lying self serving criminals to me. If an article, states or implies, 'left or right', it is nothing but a divisive distraction from what is really happening.
  12. Does the ward have AC, closed windows, no mossies ... NO THANKS I'll tell the daughter to bring her mozzy zapper ????
  13. Extreme Apples & Oranges comparison, and how if any, does that correspond to MMCG/GW, which wasn't mentioned at all. For sake of agreement, we'll just say any air pollution contributes to it, like cow farts. Simply states their air is healthier, doesn't state how bad it was when change started. That the USA didn't need to bring it down as much to be at the same 'healthy/unhealthy' doesn't say much for China's results. Kudos, IF, it's maintained, as lots of IFs in there also. Is 'better' really actually 'good', along with being compared to 20+ yr old USA data ... ???? 40% drop, but still 3X worse ... ???? states nothing about 2000 to present, except it's still some of the worse. "The amount of harmful particulates in the air in China fell 40% from 2013 to 2020, according to the University of Chicago’s Energy Policy Institute, which would add about two years to average life expectancy if sustained. While smog in large swathes of the country still significantly exceeds safe levels," "strong indication of the opportunities that could lie ahead for other nations if they were to impose strong pollution policies" "40% decline in seven years nearly equaling a 44% drop in US pollution over 30 years from 1970" "Beijing remains three times more polluted than Los Angeles" .... & .... "six times higher than the WHO recommends." ... well done ???????? ????
  14. I'm assuming that person will need to be awake while you are 'out of it' ? What will they be monitoring ? When to when, as my daughter lives in Bangkok, though her time ain't cheap ???? Seriously, she keeps her own hours, so it may actually work, depending her schedule Wed/Thurs. Between working online, and a few movies, she could actually be awake 8 ish hours while you are sleeping.
  15. I use the 'ice core' research for my thoughts on climate change / warming. With that, not much of a worry in my lifetime, or many generation to come. My daughter will be safe, and that's all that matters. She's anti kids, so don't think she'll be too concerned either.????
  16. Since the scientist can't seem to agree, I'll stick with my own observations & research. It has served me well in 'all' things. I ignore most doomsday scenarios (though prepared enough), as they usually come with a sales pitch, or a justification to steal (tax) my finances.
  17. Yep ... if not in the fine print, then the reviews, or taking notice, nobody else has bothered to purchase from said vendor is a pretty good clue, so you may not want to be the first. Stick with 'flagship / authorized' sellers/resellers or manufacturer sites, or links from. Really is too easy not to get burned. Saving 5-10-20% but buying elsewhere isn't worth it.
  18. The TS we got sent in the 70s were definitely dipped. Damn war came to an end and buddy got discharged ... major bummer. That's when I went to 'Hash only' for about decade ... ????
  19. Winning Thai lottery, wouldn't be much of a game/life changing experience for us. Pump up the bank account, and that's about it. Really can't say it would change much at all, maybe a better hotel when out & about, but that's about it. I wouldn't move to a different house, or buy a different car. Or bother eating at HiSo restaurants much more than now. Already got all the toys I want. Where we go most times, a better hotel isn't really available, or where I'd really want to stay. That avoid tourist thingy again.
  20. 'Druggies' ... ???? Unlike cig smokers, they are not physically addicted. How many cig smokers told themselves "when it gets to $1 € or £ a pack, I'll quit"... and yet ... ????
  21. The only time I wear long pants (not heavy jeans), is for mozzy protection, or doing visa extension. Rarely cool enough locally (PKK) to where jeans, only if out & about up N or NE.
  22. That applies to the stock market also, and it's all a perceived value. If you hold a stock, and that company goes bankrupt, actually folds, you would be left with 0. I've seen it happen. NWA a prime example, even though DL acquired them, the stock had no value, if not sold on the rumor of buyout. You lost all.
  23. As long as TH has uncontrolled flooding every year, don't think lack of water will ever be a problem. If they run out during dry season some year, they might simply start managing wet season better.... .... until then ... oh well. We will go into dry season with enough rainwater collected to actually hold us over till rainy season if ever needed.
  24. Their rough guess now is 1°C over the 1-200 yrs. That gives them more than a few generations to sort things out. Not a believer of MMCG myself. Warming, yes, it's natural occurrence, historically, tops out at a couple more degrees before the big chill starts. Something that actually should be more of a concern. Actually, I'd be more concerned about the water table, and supply of 'affordable' drinking water. But then, as it is now, it will simply go to those, that the elite decide are worthy enough to have. If not servicing them, and providing food, we, well, not me, some folks, wouldn't even be allotted that. Take Africa for instance, and how many die are allowed to die every year from no clean drinking water. Don't contribute = no clean water for you. Why waste the resources. ????
