  1. I'm not seeing the problem, as only 360 kms, and may have to top up once, and a few on the way with no detour necessary.
  2. Unfortunately, you can't plan anything like that. As the departure hall may be back up with large Qs, or the security point, as I have in the past, waiting in Q at security for 1+ hr, and that was between the check in counter to the gate. I've been checked in online, and still had to wait in line at the counter if having luggage. Hard to travel internationally for a few weeks out of a backpack. And now, 1 small bag limits for carry on. They recommend allowing 3 hrs for int'l travel for a reason. And then imm on arrival to anywhere, possible another hour. No thanks. Not after travelling for 20 yrs and showing up 30 minutes before the flight at the gate, bypassing security, when working for the airlines ???? Write my own ticket, check myself in, and chill out in First Class with drink before take off. 3 hrs of hassle to get kicked to the back of the bus ... Y'all are crazy. All before the flight of how many hours in the sardine can. Been 16 & 19 years since on an int'l flight (USA), and what a sh!t show they were. Never again. One of the only 2X I didn't fly as an employee in 22 yrs.
  3. No thanks ... check ins at airport, really discourage me from traveling anywhere outside of Thailand. Can't think of any place worth visiting, if It takes me about 4 hrs door to aircraft and need to do it twice, If I was in Krung Thep, which I'm not, so add 4 more hours, one way 8 hrs/16 hrs before the two 3-6+ hour uncomfortable flight, and that's somewhere close internationally; Hong Kong/China/Korea maybe. No desire to see same same but wee bit different any closer (Nam, etc).
  4. Does look quite good, though hopefully a 'buffet', as may need a bit more substance. Salmon is a nice touch. Like your Q. Victoria Inn snap better, being a Yank ... BACON Nice reviews BTW. If only everyone did the same, would make out & about a lot easy & better to plan. ????????
  5. He needs it to protect himself from the 13-14-15-16 yr olds ???? With those little sh!ts walking around armed ... do you think law abiding folks shouldn't be able to defend themselves. Can you imagine having to shoot a 12 yr old ... that would F anyone's head up ????
  6. Well, you can't fix stupid ???? Read the same, and always good for chuckle. Goes with tourist wanting the 'real Thailand' (pre c19), then when they got there, hated it. No 7-11, no English menus, no English signage ???? too funny. Oh well ... Better research = Better holiday
  7. I believe they do ... ... as I posted earlier, found 2, only 2 I actually looked at, and both rated 5* ... 1 had no restaurant ... 1 served breakfast only Who or what 'agency' would give those 5* ?
  8. Not entirely, and not during all of covid's 2 yr run. Plenty of nice reports on YT of folks enjoy it, with no tourist.
  9. Phitsanulok Province, and distances from Phit town, to surrounding provinces. What are we missing ?
  10. There's plenty of coastline to camp at, well, except maybe Phuket.
  11. Drivers seeing the pedestrian isn't that much of a problem. Stepping off the curb without looking seems to be. This isn't the UK or EU where people actually stop at crosswalks in their vehicle. And y'all take that stuff serious, as I watched YT vid of people just crossing and not looking. That's crazy in my world, and you wouldn't do that in the USA. Here even crazier, as the crosswalks are in stupid places, and not maintained, repainted every so often. Actually, newer better insulated, smaller engine cars are pretty quiet. Our Vios & Mazda 2 wasn't so much, but the MG ZS is rather quiet idling or cruising at low speed. I need to use caution when driving by the fresh market, as people have stepped out in front of me. All scooters are noticeable, along with diesels. E-motorcycle, e-scooters (stand up) and ebikes will be involved with more than a few, as small profile besides being quiet. Latter 2 hopefully at slow speeds.
  12. Didn't see or watch the one linked, but did catch him talking with Bret Baier, which I believe he repeated his key points, till I lost interest, but frankly, don't think he is going far enough. I'd prefer 25 yr old vs 21 yr old, unless attending intense training course to buy. I'd prefer at least 30 day waiting period, if not 90 day, and extensive background and social media, medical (psych) investigation. With a public record of all applicants wishing to buy firearms. So all eyes & ears can chime in with any reservations. Someone might take note of a nutter falling threw the cracks. Other points were common sense, better school security & enforce the laws already on the books.
  13. With a Mango & Papaya comparison, a tropical country vs one of the most expensive states in the USA to live, the obvious answer would be cost. Why Thailand and not a comparatively priced tropical country would be more appropriate. Threads of which, we already have done to death, for SEA; TH vs Nam vs Cambo vs PH vs SG vs Laos vs Myanmar. For myself, comparison of TH vs places I've considered, West coast & Yucatan, MX, Caribbean Is & S. FL, USA, it's always been the hurricanes (typhoons) or earthquakes making the decision for me. TH basically lacking both. If it ever hits the fan, then TH is one of a few countries that can actually feed itself. If considering a life long change, then good to consider a 'what if / worst happens' scenario. Ease of everyday living, infrastructure and cost, visas, and TH still at top of my list. Well, 20+ yrs ago. and TBH, not much has changed. If not for a fluke, last minute, spur of the moment holiday to TH, which I knew nothing about at the time, I'd probably would have went with S. FL, USA, and simply been a bit nomadic around the USA during hurricane season. Hindsight, no regrets ... thankfully.
  14. None ... to lazy to go anywhere. Just the thought of dealing with the airport at both ends, let alone sitting on a plane for any length of time is a turn off. Except for short visit, after hitting PowerBall, USA would probably be the last place you'd find me. 45 yrs was more than enough. Really is nothing back there for me and prefer new experiences. Maybe Alaska, never been there.
  15. Debt / deficit goes UP, USD goes DN ... really need an economist to tell anyone that.
  16. Definitely, as I've spooked more than a few on my e-scooter. Am guilty of using sound when on my ebike, and caught myself a few times, not turning my head completely before changing road position ... so I can see more peds getting whacked crossing the street when EVs are popular. Some places have 'mandatory sound producing laws' for EVs ... ????
  17. Someone's been watching MSM a bit too much and actually believes all that BS. Unless you go looking for the extreme negatives, they probably won't come & find you. Same as living in Thailand. I found living in suburbia USA; Philadelphia (PA), Memphis (TN), Detroit (MI), Princeton (NJ), Clearwater Beach & Delray Beach (FL), to be not much different than living in Thailand.
  18. You reserve your charging time on their app. Don't think Qs will be a problem for a few years. I'm not a big fan of driving further than 1 charge will get me anyway, so for us, it will be charging overnight at hotel, if having CS, or using granny charger at GH.
  19. I got 1 more Northern loop in me, BKK - Udon Thani - CM/CR area, then back home to PKK, IF & when that parcel of UT land sells. Don't see any CS (charging station) issue along the way. Maybe some planning needed from NE - N side, that's about it. And if smog season, that will be a short trip. Rest of our travels will be local, PKK, within 150 km of for daily or overnight round trips.. Then further out & abouts southward. More than enough CS southward, as no desire to go to bottom of Thailand. Daughter is < 300 kms away at Krung Thep, so driving @ 90 kph, no issues. Actually now, stay very local, and no real day trips, within 150 km. Besides busy with house, can't see spending 300-500 baht in petrol with the ICE, for seeing what we've already seen, or exploring what else may be there. When the EV arrives, actually can see ourselves out & about locally a lot more, a good thing, as I'm going nuts the past 6 months, staying near the house build. Out & about to us is, we'll drive somewhere, 100 kms or so, for lunch, coffee, pastry, dinner, sunrise or sunset, a different view, a snapshot, maybe of different bird species. Who knows, anything to get us out of the house. Dog gets to sniff a new area, I get to fly the drone, wife buys a plant ... ANYTHING ???? EV will free my cheap charlie A$$ up ... worth it just for the smile factor. Oh yea ... and Save the Planet, man ... ????
  20. I just peeked at 'PlugShare' ... holy c r a p, that stretch between BKK-HH-PKK-Chumphon, is full up with stations.
  21. Looking at 'PlugShare' map, I see one 'bare' area, inland from coast of Pattani & Narathiwat, though didn't see how far, actual kms, stations were far reaches of main hwy. So some planning needed if living, visiting that area. If going Phangna to Ranong, hwy 4, then there is a 250 kms stretch you should, would, be aware of when planning. But besides those, and I'm not seeing any spots to be concerned about in Thailand.
  22. Then talk to us, like the idiots you think we are. Your definition of 'provinces' ? If living in the provinces, up, down or around country, would you not be charging from home. If not, then yes, buying would need a bit more research & consideration. Where I am, I can't go 180 kms and NOT charge up, if wanting. Considering I'm in between Hua Hin & Chumphon, that's considered fairly rural, and still have 3 locally, that I know of, without looking for. Local MG to MG Chumphon is 180 kms, and I haven't searched what if any in between. I know there's more than a few on the way to Hua Hin, only 100 kms away. If like myself, and have been on out & abouts around the whole country, looking at the available charging stations, I don't see many, if any 300 km gaps between stations. Along with, using your 'granny' charger at you guesthouse, if it comes down to that. You are obviously only looking at one source for charging stations. Each vendor has their app w/locations, along with one site provided on this thread numerous times, and just about all inclusive, 'PlugShare', so please search that and find a 300 kms gap for us. I find 'lack of charging stations' the worst reason to avoid EVs, at present anyway. Since few EVs on the road.
  23. One could say, why do you comment on the unavailability of, unless YOU know as fact, from experience. I have no fear in availability of charging stations in Thailand, so I'm buying in. Ask me next year, I'll let you know how things are.
