  1. Just got back from updating our Tetanus shots, damn expensive. ฿600 / 300 each, expensive, since last time was ฿50, before that, free ???? If in USA, ฿600 / 300 wouldn't even cover your deductible for GP visit, IF you had insurance & IF GP visits were even covered by said insurance. No need to ask why we prefer TH over USA. Get to live < 5 kms from surf.
  2. I owned my home in USA, and my issue was with the RE Taxes, shy of $4000 a year / $333 a month = ฿11,300. That's about the same as our monthly food bill here, possibly more. That wasn't even a high price house with a good school district. Suburbia Philadelphia, PA. Add a few months of heating oil & AC and moving to Thailand puts quite a bit of extra jingle in your pocket. Money that actually goes toward your real living expenses, and not just for the privilege of living in the nanny PC world of the west. Present mandatory bills; ฿6000 rent (2 bdrm townhouse) ฿3000 electric (AC abuser) ฿632 internet at house ฿350 phone & internet ฿110 city water (7k L month, rarely use more) ฿10,092 total monthly bills = less than the 'privilege tax' to live in USA ???? Now all we need to do is feed ourselves & stay healthy. Next month we move into house, and get rid of rent and most of electric bill, since will be going solar. Really don't need a car, as MB would be sufficient. TH vs USA ... nuff said
  3. I broke down yesterday, damn peer pressure, and pick up some Snowy. My preference before I found Kopper. AND .... DAMN IT TASTED GOOD. Fresh fill date: 22-5-2022
  4. Please advise us what country, tells us the shore depth at 10-20-30 meters out .... PLEASE Ever changing sand pattern, monthly, if not weekly, depending on weather. Surely you can think of something better to cry about. Nobody controls the weather, tides, depth of the surf. It's ever changing, even during a 24 hr period. Just let us know when you're coming, and we'll send a team out to measure for you. Are we to expect a thread complaining about hotel pools that aren't in the shade, so the water isn't cool enough for you. Hint: using Gmaps, and you can actually plan your holiday around 'shading' if that important. Since we're on east coast, we don't go to the surf until after 1300 hrs, as the treeline provides shade, when chillin' surfside. Just a thought.
  5. Repeating the same query over again, doesn't change the answer, which you already know. The warranty is good for 8 yrs 180k kms. The battery itself, is good for far longer. But you already knew that. You guys just made my ignore list, sad, as I like some of your replies elsewhere.
  6. That doesn't sound right, as I thought you had to do your extension, in the province you reside. For you, registered address/yellow book, that would be Bangkok. How are you doin ext. at Ratchaburi. Unless you are giving them a Ratchaburi address for you visa ext.
  7. I'm not the one who needs it ... ???? "On the Road Again" ... damn near a theme song for us ... ????
  8. Asked & answered how many times already ???
  9. Since most haven't been around for 6 years, guess it's a big ????? Not sure what my ICE will be worth at 6 yr mark, as dealer / tent folks, only offer ฿350k, which is 50% off purchase of 2 yr ago. See listed on FB for ฿400-450k. I'd keep or give to our daughter before selling for ฿350k. I know the EV will be my last car, as surely outlast me, barring any oops. Actually expecting 20 yr / 300k kms out of it. Hope everything lasts as long as the batteries & motors. 300 kms isn't really that much now of days. Extreme negative, 1000 cycles @ 300 kms a cycle. ICE @ 300 kms, just petrol cost alone is the price of the EV. 300k kms / 11 kpL X ฿35 = ฿955k So ... what other negative thought about EVs are you going to repeat or come up with ????
  10. Netting helps a bit, but when move to new plot of land, think we're going to go with enclosing a whole area with wire (wire 'greenhouse;????), since wrapping every one is a bit of a hassle. Yields getting better (tomatoes, strawberries, figs) every season for all fruits & veggies. Just bought a 1/4 rai for 'farming'. Going to screen in a good portion of it.
  11. Got the same problem ... damn squirrels & birds.
  12. So the obvious is being pointed out .... Ignorance isn't Bliss. Tropics, hot, damn hot, shallow surf ... and you were expecting ???
  13. I haven't had a beer in months, as my brand (Kopper) apparently isn't being produced by Singha any more. I'll abstain from drinking any beer, if only their name sake labels are the only ones available. All versions of Singha, Chang, Leo, Heiny, Archa aren't fit for consumption IMHO. Not paying 150-200 baht for small kraft beer, as I apparently don't enjoy it that much. 1 small beverage shouldn't cost more than my meal. Water works just fine.
  14. Thanks again to the irresponsible expats and tourist who ruin things for everyone else.
  15. The simple title of, turns me off. I know what a woman is ... what you prefer to call yourself, is UP2U Woman = human homo sapien with the ability to give birth to human offspring. Man (so no confusion) = human homo sapien born with a penis UP2U what you call yourself, but don't try to convince otherwise.
  16. With the amount of insecticides some farmers here have been known to use, GMOs is the least of your worries.
  17. Yes, signed copies of by owner is required, and I've submitted such (without owner's presence) to Imm numerous times. Copies of 'signed' docs have been accepted, meaning, signature doesn't have to be original on said document. Matter of fact, my lease is 5+ yrs old, and month to month, and have used copy of all, lease, ID, house book the last 4 ish extension. Keeping the original with 'blue' ink signature. JIC asked for. This at Hua Hin Imm office, and same for Udon Thani office in the past.
  18. The consumer always benefits from competition on an open & free market.
  19. Not Issan, but ballpark idea, how land price fluctuate within 1 km of each other. 2015 bought lot (1/4 rai/100tw/400m²) for ฿76k (150m from main rd, needs electric & water) Not paved road to land, but no issue and already had stone laid. 7 yrs on, and no problem getting to lot, w/2WD, and no upgrade to road since. Electric, first 140m line free, haven't got the price yet, but expect it to be free Water was expensive, but quality 'city' line @ ฿50k, of which, any addition houses and we'll be reimbursed, partially from new owners. One lot beyond us, was told have to give us ฿25k, before they'll extend to his lot. Small 'road' and maybe 8 lots on it. One selling for 500k (1/4 rai/100tw/400m²) Just bought adjacent lot (1/4 rai) for ฿260k yesterday, outrageous ???? Since ampher assessment is < ฿100k, but buyer knew we were motivated buyers, since there already. Negotiations started at ฿330k For my sanity, average the 2 lots, and only ฿168k each ???? Quite acceptable now. Lots (1/4 rai) less than 1/2 km away, across main rd, also starting (fixed) @ ฿550 & UP Probably amphur land office assess @ < ฿100k .... talking 2 mil a rai, that's silly, as still about 5 kms from the surf. 1 mil a rai was silly, as 5 yrs ago, about ฿400k a rai. Probably can still find, a couple more kms inland, west, for about ฿600k a rai. Probably assessed at 300-400k Location location location, and worth what someone will pay.
  20. Agree, trying going to the USA as a non Yank ... good luck. Staying in Thailand long term, is simply too easy. I actually wish it was harder. Some Imm offices, extending is a bit time consuming, simply due to the numbers needing to be processes. Nong Khai < 30 minutes +/- Udon Thani < 30 minutes +/- Hua Hin 1-2 hours, depending on Q Locally 90 day < 5 mins, as usually the only one there, or simply taken within that time if a Q since he knows I'm there for a 90 day. Never makes me wait. No tip needed.
  21. Looking at PlugShare map, seems more than enough nationwide, except in the most extreme cases, of which I haven't noticed any 300 kms stretches without a CS. Especially where most expats are. Of course you need to be able to use said vendors, personally not sure what's required, (joining app or have CC/debit card) but watched enough YT vids to figure out it's not that difficult. Along with possibly reserving your time slot, if wanting. Most importantly, not one member on here that owns an EV has complained about it, for any reason. MG being probably most popular EVs, and a dealer now or in the future, every 150 ish kms. Only the extreme anti-EV'ers keep repeating this silliness. A bit annoying actually. Every time on a forum, someone states, they can find something, it seems to be pointed out, and proven, they simply aren't looking good enough, or at all. You can rip an engine / car apart & put it back together, but can't work out where and how to top up an EV .... seriously ????
  22. I'm not seeing the problem, as only 360 kms, and may have to top up once, and a few on the way with no detour necessary.
