  1. Kind of pointless to change branches, if he can use any branch of Bangkok Bank for most services. There is no need for him to change branches. That's simply a waste of 3-4 hours of his life. ATM usage is irrelevant to his requirements - as you listed services that cannot be done at an ATM at any branch. The question to ask is what services can ONLY be provided by the branch that maintains his account.
  2. Understood, but the subject is changing bank locations. There is no need to change, as the services you listed (possibly excluding new passbook) can be done at any branch. Services unavailable from an ATM at his branch are unavailable at all branch ATM's.
  3. Not much of the above must be done in the branch where your account is based. Passbook?........probably, but I don't know this for certain. ATM card? Nope. My silom branch ATM card died, i got a new one in a Korat branch for the silom account. Immigration? Any branch can do your bank guarantee letter. (not sure about outside province). I used silom or ramkhamhaeng bangkok bank branches for my fixed accounts, got the bank letter at chang wattana or laksi branches.
  4. Meet on internet site. First in person "date" she says "Oh, you so hansum. We get drunk and screw." Followed by "You give me money now." Then soon thereafter "Ok, Joe, you give me more money now. You numbah one!" When you hesitate she asks "You no wanna screw?" No, no red flags there.
  5. What's the point? You can get fantastic deals to Bangkok from Micronesia or Palau..........but then you have to get to Micronesia or Palau in order to take advantage of them. Next post.........Where can I find the cheapest flight to Rwanda International?
  6. The boundary markers might be there, but they may have "migrated" over the years......
  7. The correct response is to give her a carrot and two potatoes, both of course being root vegetables. Be advised that handing them to her in a plastic sack or bare carry different connotations. Good lucky!
  8. No. Not acceptable. They want either a certificate of residence from immigration or a notarized affidavit from your embassy. (I got lucky...........the clerk accepted my notarized/legalized "affidavit of singleness" from my embassy.)
  9. Phimai has a new Hokee big box store with a newly-opened Swenson's in the mall area.
  10. Amazing Thailand - Hub of Elvis Impersonators?
  11. Your partner downloads the immigration sec. 38 app from the google playstore, submits a few documents (housebook, id card, rental contract depending on situation) to register her residence in the system. When that is approved, she can log into the system and fill out a TM30 registering you at the residence. You can do a search in the app to show the status of your application. Once it's approved, take a screenshot for your phone, and print off for future use. Your first 90-day report must be done in person. After that you can use the online system.
  12. Amazing! Hub of hubs! Hubba-hubba!
  13. We have discount for police man.
  14. from the linked article: Hmmmmm......... Nothing to see here.
  15. If travel is an option, then consider India. I had a valve replacement at Apollo in Chennai. Roundtrip flights from southern China, a week recovery at a beach resort. Total was about 10% of the cost in the USA......essentially equal to just the cost of the valve itself in the US. They accept visa/mastercard.
  16. Have an acquaintance In England wanting to spend about six months in Thailand. The embassy website is unclear, with dead links and unanswered questions. So I'll ask here. An e-visa SETV allows for one 60-day stay. Can that be extended an additional 30 days at immigration? Is the e-visa METV available at the London embassy? The website did not specifically say it was, only that METV fees would not be refunded if an SETV was issued. Can each entry on an e-visa METV be extended an additional 30 days at immigration? I suppose he could do the visa waiver + 30-day extension three times, fly in once, plus a couple day trips to Vientianne. Thank you for any and all advice.
  17. Where's the scam? Amulets are amulets. Tourist no like price, tourist no pay price.
  18. Judging by the traffic fatality statistics, selling amulets at any price should be a crime.
  19. Hmmm...... "Police Operations Center" = "inactive post"
  20. Talk to your landlord. See if he's amenable to updating your rental contract, or writing a new one, with an appropriate exit clause. Annual contract, but you can end early with 30 or 60 days notice, perhaps with a small fee not necessarily equal to the deposit.
  21. No view of your properties for five years? Doesn't seem like a very diligent landlord. But shirley he must have questioned the five years of utility bills that he or his property management office received. Not curious as to why his empty buildings were racking up the same utility bills as occupied buildings? The Indian fellow should send a bill to the landlord for renovating and maintaining the empty properties.
  22. Careful what you pray for. The contract doesn't explicitly say "female," nor "human." Good luck.
  23. Not if yesterdays gofundme was correct. Thai lady in Shanghai was sent by consulate there to Thai embassy in Beijing, and is being told she needs 100k baht to pay for repatriation.
