Bangkok Bank in NYC : Opening an account
NoDisplayName replied to johnkm's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
New York branch of Bangkok Bank is not available to you. Any bank can SWIFT your funds quickly and easily. Your only difficulty will be opening a bank account in Thailand. Wise will get you a better exchange rate, but transfers don't always receive the proper FTT coding indicating foreign sourced funds required for immigration. The exchange rate difference may be a wash, though, as SWIFT transfers have a set cost while WISE charges a percentage fee. You'll have to do the maff to confirm. -
Are you planning to remain in Thailand, retired, or is this just a one-year visit then return to Australia? If one year and return, don't bother with the non-O. Get the METV for nine months. I assume you could then leave for Cambodia for a couple weeks, then return on a visa waiver for 30 days, plus a 30-day extension.

That was the information you were asking for. But Morch gave you the free solution. It works. Took 30 seconds to locate and install the uBlock extension for Firefox. Works perfectly once other adblockers are disabled on the Youtube page.

I've been taking statins (simvistatin) for 'bout 20 years. Originally had all high numbers, with total cholesterol around 300+. I was running marathons, cycling cross country, eating healthy, so not much lifestyle changes I could have made. I believe it's mostly genetic. With statins (20mg/day) all my numbers are normal. My current diet consists mainly of pizza, KFC, tater chips, donuts and soda. Hardly exercise any more, jog/cycle/weights a few times a week. I get a blood test every 3-4 months and adjust dosage accordingly. Statins are cheap, blood tests are cheap. Why not start with your doctor's recommended dosage for 3 months and see how you respond? Have a lipid panel done every 30 days.

Wise (TransferWise) Verification
NoDisplayName replied to connda's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
Easy. Three options. Connect your phone to your computer using the charger/data cable and transfer between directories, or send the photo file from phone to computer via bluetooth, or email the photo file from the phone to yourself and download on the computer. -
Using dollars in Cambodia is stupid
NoDisplayName replied to MrPancake's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Why would you do that? Shirley, you'd take your big, handsome, crisp $100 bills to the local market and exchange whatever you estimate you'll need for your visit. Then all your purchases will be with riel, no dollars. -
Misstating Condo Sale Price
NoDisplayName replied to Fortunateson's topic in Real Estate, Housing, House and Land Ownership
Do it! .....and demand a 35% reduction on the sales price, since that's the amount they're putting on the official government documentation. -
Chinese tourists are returning - but not to Thailand
NoDisplayName replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Cool beans. The national unemployment rate is not 40%, it's about 5%. I'll go on the assumption that anonymous guy who registered for an account and whom's first --- and only --- post is felon gang propaganda is, you know, the thing. Thanks! -

What CIA.gov propaganda site did you get that number from? 40% unemployment? Try 5%....... https://tradingeconomics.com/china/unemployment-rate https://www.statista.com/statistics/1109881/surveyed-monthly-unemployment-rate-in-china/ -
Aha! When you log into gmail, you're also logging into your youtube account. Then you get the blocking unless you pay for premium or accept ads. I logged out of youtube, and Shazam!, no more blocked videos, and no ads using adblocker with no issues.

This isn't about returning to the USA. He would be going back to Norway, famous for their generous welfare state benefits.
