I've had this and working fine for 2 years but recently T-mobile shut off my account when I used VPN and laptop to add money to the wallet. Now I need to call to 1.800 using my smartphone but not possible - roaming not activated, and not enough money in wallet and 1-800 not working aboard. I'm stuck till I go to US. My fault. I should have had roaming and WiFi activated. Plus enough $$$ in wallet (I never keep any cards "in file"). Increased US paranoia over security? Maybe, maybe not. It's same in everywhere. PS. Luckily verification SMS codes from my banks are still coming OK.

Thailand makes people, like me, forget what is "normal and safe". I was monitoring pollution number in Bangkok and they were high. Now I'm near On Nut BTS - one of the busiest and polluted spot in Bangkok - and I like it! I guess I checked my brain at the door... I am alive! I love the action, smells (food), energy of young AND old people on the streets and so on. Only 1% speaks English! Now I'm in Thailand. I hear Chiang Mai is even more polluted yet very popular. I may go to see it too. My regular place, Jomtien, was/is cemetery quiet compared to this hell hole 😉 Only ONE motobike revving at night, as reported here, 1 000 000+ in Bangkok. It's a win-win to me. Got to see REAL Bangkok and when tired of this I appreciate Jomtien more. When is that? I donno, just paid 7 more days...

I like to travel with std 7kg carry on because it's much cheaper when also flying. So after reading all info here - No buses, more trains and flying (if possible). I feel bad because increased air pollution and much less to see from air. More expensive too but no way will I pack winter clothes for damn bus trip! I've seen sweaty youngsters unloading of Nightly Party Bus on gas station. Music is blaring at least 130 dB. Bus is freezing cold, you can feel it 5m away. THAT I understand. They need cold to stay with the beat and party all night.

My 2 trips to Phu Quoc on VietJet were the coldest rides ever. Even parka wearing tough Vietnamese were frozen solid... only positive was hardest nipples sticking out everywhere and the show was free.
