I lost old one, based on Email account. Now it's Google & Apple Mafia outside Asia. Is it still possible to borrow Thai SIM, activate the account and keep using WiFi only? I did that for years. I got one at BTS On Nut. If that doesn't work out I try Soi Cowboy... I saw video - they are very welcoming there.

I know and have been to those. It was much hotter than on Jomtien and I'm not beach type. I just like take long walks. PS. I think you're crazy (and very brave!) to bicycle there from Pattaya!!!!

Palm tree is the worse to give shade. Jomtien beach has different kind, don't know the name. They are on sandy area and give excellent shade. Also, Nha Trang, Vietnam, has similar 6 mile beach but 1000x better thanks to NO Motor Vessels of any kind within 800 meters of shore line! It's so quiet.... and clean. Pattaya & Jomtien are noisy slums... even AIR is polluted by Para Cliders, or what the hell they are? Pulled by speed boats.

Just booked DMK to CXR (Nha Trang) for Christmas 😉 Last Christmas I was in Dalat. Very beautiful decorations, music etc but too cold and crowded for me. It has become too popular and roads are for horse buggy. Pre Covid was good.

Thanks! I did that and found others but not as good. I like to be close to BTS station since I'm exploring Bangkok. Generally I've started to stay "Thai only" places and savings can be high. In Khon Khan I paid half (!) what farang rate was... the owner was Chinese family. First cold and even rude but after staying a month they warmed up and were friendly.
