  1. I found this story interesting since I have been to Guatemala long time ago; https://www.yahoo.com/news/boomer-couple-social-security-moved-095802138.html I keep paying Medicare to avoid expensive re-joining, "just in case..." "They also needed to pay a penalty for renewing their Medicare after dropping coverage when moving to Guatemala."
  2. I have this on all accounts in the US; "Payable on death (POD): This means an account has a beneficiary designated by the account owner." I can name who ever I want to. No expenses. Fast payments. Can't be contested etc etc
  3. That's an old name. Current dealers won't know. Try Coke, Crack, Rock
  4. That's 799500 THB in fines. Plus TM-30 penalty 1800 THB?
  5. It's gone down to a few big companies who keep artificial competition between many branches they own. Like; "Expedia Group, Inc. is an American travel technology company that owns and operates travel fare aggregators and travel metasearch engines, including Expedia, Hotels.com, Vrbo, Travelocity, Hotwire.com, Orbitz, Ebookers, CheapTickets, CarRentals.com, Expedia Cruises, Wotif, and Trivago." How is Expedia now days? I haven't used for 20 years.
  6. This rudeness against Asian women stated by Trump during Covid when he declared "Covid came from China and they are 'dirty'. For him and 90% of non city Americans all Asians are Chinese... There's one great thing at US immigration. If treated rudely say; "I want to speak to your supervisor!" That gets their attention and attitude changes immediately.... they won't take a risk being questioned.
  7. I noticed same last winter. Agoda was the worst. What I did I booked one or 2 nights with them (using same no-cookies trick) and then made a deal with the owner/manager for same low price for a month. It worked fine for all Thai owned hotels but some international ones didn't give big discount.
  8. The only imported fruit I'd like to buy is NZ "Envy" apples. Are they available in TH? https://tandg.global/our-global-brands/ They are The Best! I always eat them in the US. Cheap at Wall Mart but often "out of stock".
  9. Thank you guys! I'll get the card as well.
  10. I'll fly out from BKK and DMK many times. From Jomtien to DMK is pain in the S. Also, I like to travel all lines from end-to-end to see Bangkok 🙂
  11. In coming winter I plan to stay in downtown Bangkok for a month or so to see if I like to live in the big city. Can I buy all above tickets always at same place? I want to pay cash. No apps etc. Why? The most English speaking ladies are there... - WHY 3 different systems? And prices? And discounts? It doesn't make sense... Oh well, at least it's cheap and fast. In the EU I always use public transportation. The poorer the country better the system!
  12. Good for you! You were lucky... Thailand use face recognition system and finger prints... no help what passport you use. I've used Saigon in & out for over seas flights. Cheaper than BKK and less Immi control.
  13. Email from AirAsia; "As AirAsia continues to streamline its flight schedule, there will be service disruption to the certain routes." - Very poorly handled...
  14. I had many Pinoy friends in California. I asked "Why you people get so much bad rap?" He; "Because we got only bad genes from Japanese, Spanish and Americans!" Most are good but even good ones test you...
  15. Has anyone really been asked by IO for ticket? I have never heard it. It's usually airlines who ask outside Thailand before letting boarding in.
  16. They are crooks... They said "Wait for 60 days for cash refund". After 61 days I wanted my refund, they said "Your request is done too late". I got screen shots from every lie. I wanted to cancel my account. They wrote; "For legal reasons we can't delete your account". I guess lawsuits are mounting up? I don't bother to poke half dry cow sh*t... It only stinks more.
  17. Thanks for that! I also need something custom made.
  18. Thank you! Good to know I'm not the only one... I found a way to see flights; I go to skyscanner, com. Select the AirAsia route, then select AirAsia flight on price menu. That'll show all flights etc. I haven't bought any yet so I don't know if system works all way to the end. I never use any apps nor SmartPhone. Last winter they didn't have "AirAsia MOVE". Maybe that's the problem? They are a very BIG company - hard to believe how bad they are... but Tony Fernandes (who learned all from Sir Richard Branson when he was Virgin Airlines accountant) is known for shady deals, like failed Caterham F1 team. He left millions of unpaid wages to the drivers.
  19. Search is not showing any flights. I haven't created account or logged in. Is this the problem? Last winter I flew many times and booking worked fine. I tried Firefox and Google, no go.
  20. "I've been here for just over a year. I extended my annual retirement visa in Roi Et today - possibly one of the most helpful and friendliest immigration offices in the country. I live happily in the sticks with my partner and our adopted son. I have been known to go fishing, exploring, kayaking, and recently bought a Royal Enfield 500" Good to know you like Roi Et! I'll spend time there later this year. I got a new hot date who lives there. We'll find out if we are compatible. Most likely I'll be walking in central island park daily. Don't know any other places yet. I also like old style British bikes. They are so beautiful! The new Indian made replicas and original classics. Enjoy your life there!
  21. Yes, Meetup.com is very big and good in the US. https://www.meetup.com/th-TH/find/thailand/ I was hiking 2-3 times a week in LA and did go to many others too. Great people! Some poor, some millionaires but all had a great time together. Maybe we should start hiking group once a week in Pattaya / Jomtien / Sattahip?
  22. I like this for worldwide infos; https://www.expat.com/en/destination/asia/thailand/
  23. Easy to block. Read Email instructions. PS. Won't remove Herpes....
  24. I agree.... Concrete hiways and low profile tires are torture....
  25. Cheapest EU countries to retire; 1. Bulgaria 2. Portugal Portugal has become very attractive. Cheaper than favorite Spain. News etc; https://www.theportugalnews.com/
