  1. Well, with a limit on the insurance coverage, the expensive hospitals will max out my coverage pretty fast. I had a friend involved in a motorbike accident and spent one night in Bangkok Pattaya Hospital for observation, cost him 100,000 baht.
  2. Hi, Can anyone recommend an insurance company that's accepted at Pattaya City Hospital? The insurance company I have now has an approved hospital list and PCH isn't on their list, they only want me to use the expensive places, I don't have any medical issues so the idea of paying big money for small issues is a joke. Any input is appreciated.
  3. There's a farang owned food shop that specializes in meats/pork, etc over on the Darkside, maye stop in and speak with the owner. Smokey Mountain Foods; https://www.facebook.com/Smokeymountainfoods?_rdc=1&_rdr# https://smokeymountainfoods.com/about-us/

Over the years I've had translated paperwork legalized by going to a translation office on Soi Post Office then taking the translated paperwork to the government office in Central Festival/4th floor and having them put the official stamp. Sometimes there's a minor correction needed and have to go back to Soi post Office for the correction.
  5. I just completed this quiz. My Score 40/100 My Time 65 seconds
  6. I was going to say the same thing, the Makro in Pattaya (on Suk) has had them in the past but it's an occasional thing, not an everyday item, maybe stop by and ask them if/when they might get them in again.
  7. IMO those using a visa agent to bypass the 800k in the bank are illegal immigrants, I don't like them in my home country and I don't like them here either.
  8. Stop buy Num Chai Service Center on Sukhumvit & Siam Country Club, they have a good repair team.
  9. You can get quality ones off of Lazada. https://www.lazada.co.th/products/8-i4828287515-s20109576406.html?from_gmc=1&fl_tag=1&exlaz=d_1:mm_150050845_51350205_2010350205::12:20968287807!!!!!c!!20109576406!5300366009&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwmrqzBhAoEiwAXVpgouWz7nPlqGL9EFXgZbHSkNwo_9goZuhxGopcqTwNnsCE0YLFLq49kxoCJrgQAvD_BwE
  10. This is the way I got my ID.me account approved, I made a video phone call and IIRC I had to show my face and passport (or driver's license, it was a long time ago), it was a quick call and now I have no problem logging in.
  11. If it's happening often, why not ask the wait staff "Is it ok if I sit here" or "Here is ok?" before ordering.
  12. I don't have any problems with the site and I just checked it. Are you using a VPN? Or maybe your Anti-virus software is preventing it, maybe disable it and try again. https://th.usembassy.gov/u-s-citizen-services/passports/instructions-for-ds-82-processing-by-mail-and-online-fee-payment-for-u-s-citizens-residing-in-thailand/ Edit; used Chrome.
  13. After living in Thailand for over 17 years, and as a US citizen I've renewed my passport here twice with the embassy in Bangkok; zero drama, zero problems. Some people are a magnet for confusion, drama & problems.
  14. Hundreds of millions had the same vaccine and they lived, just because a dozen people's bodies couldn't handle it doesn't make it a solid case for the anti-vaxers, if someone's body is so fragile they can't handle what hundreds of millions of others had, then this is thinning the herd, survival of the fittest. But of course the anti-vaxers will cry and whine as if the big drug companies were suggesting injecting disinfectant to the people...oh wait.
  15. I'm by no means a leftie, but the same statement can be said about the Mag-hats destroying democracy. False electors, J-6 riots, countless proven lies up and down the chain-of command, using fascist tactics, the list goes on & on.
  16. This reminds me of the time I was talking with one newbie during his first visit to Pattaya, apparently he thought Walking Street was mostly filled with LBs. The preconceived notion from some newbies is laughable.

This is popping up on various websites, is seems the 2 Brits got a beating by security guards after they refused to pay their 2000 baht bin and punched the girl in the nose, breaking it. Due to graphic violence, the video has been removed.
  18. Maybe this was the restaurant's silent message to the OP of "We don't like you and don't want you to come back". 🤣
  19. So the American has a bank account but needed a stranger (the OP) to accept 1 million baht international transfer? Why didn't the American use his own account? This make no sense.
  20. The Bangkok Bank (BB) in Central Festival is my home bank, I did an extension based on retirement through them several years ago using the Wise monthly international transfer (FTT) method, while they knew exactly what I needed it was the 2 hour wait time to speak with the desk that irked me. This year's extension I went to a local BB here on the Darkside a few weeks ahead of my extension and waited about 15 minutes to speak with the desk, I asked if I could get the same letters there or do I need to get it from my home branch and they said the letter comes from Bangkok, so it doesn't matter if the request comes from Central Festival BB or the Darkside BB, a few weeks later I went back to the Darkside BB, waited about 15 minutes again and I ordered the required paperwork and it came back about 4 days later. My extension was approved in Jomtien and now I know where I'll be requesting any future paperwork without having to wait more than an hour or two in the bank chairs. It's been a while since I used the 800k parked in the bank method, and found the fastest way was to go to Central Festival before they opened, go to the 4th floor mall doors and wait for them to open, I'd be one of the first in the bank, get my letters, eat lunch then go to the IO in the afternoon. As asked above, are you using the yearly 800k method or the monthly 65k method.
  21. Yes, if no one in this trio had any worries, all three gather at the police station (with your lawyer) and explain the story to the police and then you hand over the money that you agreed to do in the first place. Do you also help out people at the airport by taking their luggage in your name on international flights?

Darkside Furniture shop that specializes in wood, off of Nern Plab Wan; https://www.google.com/maps/@12.9187995,100.9284714,3a,75y,152.68h,83.44t/data=!3m7!1e1!3m5!1sNvTlyZP2OjKdZD7Xqa5Fwg!2e0!6shttps:%2F%2Fstreetviewpixels-pa.googleapis.com%2Fv1%2Fthumbnail%3Fpanoid%3DNvTlyZP2OjKdZD7Xqa5Fwg%26cb_client%3Dmaps_sv.share%26w%3D900%26h%3D600%26yaw%3D152.6836300189081%26pitch%3D6.5589325644276215%26thumbfov%3D90!7i16384!8i8192?coh=205410&entry=ttu
  23. If I had this problem, I'd visit the shop on Pattaya Nua, a few shophouses from the Roung Reung bus station, they repair lawnmowers, pumps, weed wacker/strimmers, etc.

If you're on the Darkside, there's a metal shop on Soi Nern Plab Wan, at the intersection near Aqua Dymie bar. I've used them for years, they've made my front gate & fixed a busted chair. If you visit and the shop is closed (the owner has a 2nd shop in the city) either call or visit the glass shop around the corner of the same building. https://www.google.com/maps/@12.9285227,100.9321551,3a,48.9y,241.01h,81.99t/data=!3m7!1e1!3m5!1scpgmv3mW-yGr2PQ7gTPDAg!2e0!6shttps:%2F%2Fstreetviewpixels-pa.googleapis.com%2Fv1%2Fthumbnail%3Fpanoid%3Dcpgmv3mW-yGr2PQ7gTPDAg%26cb_client%3Dmaps_sv.share%26w%3D900%26h%3D600%26yaw%3D241.01208935769824%26pitch%3D8.01458344277735%26thumbfov%3D90!7i16384!8i8192?coh=205410&entry=ttu
