  1. And when they ran out of that shtick they will do a final one and claim you probably married the ugly one. BTW, join any Patterz Facebook page and feast your eyes at the number of foreigners who supposedly married those hot bargirls in their 30's. All of them look in their 50's and 60's due to drinking, drugs and "train" rides. Real self made women in Thailand don't need to get paid.
  2. Yep....especially be wary of comments if you marry a Thai Chinese with masters degree. The Batman slap meme follows every single time.
  3. Wow....what a drama queen. Name me 1 person who got deported or even had extension refused for not doing 90 day report.
  4. This is why I never do 90 day reports and just pay a fine once a year. Every time I post this I get a bunch of confused emoticons as I am sure will now. Enjoy slumming it at immigration 4 times a year or navigating the online mess. I just budget extra 2000b per year for the convenience.
  5. I usually make a personal judgement regarding this issue. I never give to any children, or one legged men that look like that German scammer who was kicked out of Thailand. I also don't give to charities. What I do is when I see an old skinny person on the street I usually buy 100-200b worth of food around from 7 or whatever is available and give it to them. Sometimes I will toss a 20 to those street performers sittiing in the sun.
  6. This should be easy. The teacher should file criminal charges for computer crime act.
  7. Who does 90 day reports? Pay a fine once a year and that is it.
  8. When renting the only thing owner cares about is 2 month deposit. They don't care about your visa nor it is illegal to rent even if you have no visa.
  9. I spend way less. When I came here 10 years ago I thought I would only last 1 year. It helps if you hook up with girls that are actually employed. In those 10 years I was able to save almost 1 million Canadian dollars. A lot more than if I was slumming it in Canada. However, I believe that Thailand is the exact opposite of the West. While back home people spend less once they get older, in Thailand due to no security and lousy healthcare the future costs will go up significantly. This is why I will be moving back very soon.
  10. My wife worked for a Japanese manufacturing company when I met her. A little known fact about Japanese here. They don't promote women and they don't promote non Japanese. My dear super awesome wifey was the only non Japanese woman in Thailand who ever got promoted, however she hit a ceiling and wasn't going anywhere. So, last year she gave them the finger, put her resume on LinkedIn and got hired by US/Euro company and works from home. In fact she is working right now in another room in her birthday suit.
  11. 1. I see 2 young people full of life, no disabilities a lot of misconceptions about old people that I am starting to see now are not misconceptions at all. I am jealous of what I see because having less brain cells is a key to happiness. 2. Croatia, Montenegro 3. Neither, sorry.
  12. Too funny
  13. You are a resident of Thailand only in your dreams. In any case it seems like you enjoy complicating your life with a Thai issued credit card instead of going with Wise while getting great exchange rates. Up 2 u
  14. Know what? I was gonna send you the nastiest reply ever, but I just tried adding my credit card and it went through. I remember trying to add a card numerous times in the past 2 years and it specifically said only domestic cards were allowed on shopee. But now it works, so.....
  15. Maybe it allows foreign debit cards, but not foreign credit cards.
  16. This has been repeated so many times and it is simply not correct. First of all the below LOL statement What resident? Can Thailand pls show me my PR or citizenship card where I can claim such privilege? Or are people claiming that just because I spent more than 6 months in a country I am considered a resident? Not in Thailand. To get a card with Wise, you simply get verified with whatever passport you have. I did with my Canadian passport then put my mom's address. If your parents are dead or your friends and family back home hate you, just put any address, like a hotel. After you are done with all the formalities you can apply for a card and put whatever address you want. I had my Wise card delivered to my Bangkok condo - free of charge. And I would just like to say how I am impressed with their app. It is so easy to navigate that any idiot can do it. Their numerous borderless accounts are amazing if you want to open an online shop. Their additional virtual cards which I used numerous times even on platforms like shopee which does not allow foreign credit cards. Not to mention their fraud prevention and customer service will be better than when dealing with a Thai bank. Wise is a God's gift to Farang expat.
  17. Congratulations on getting married
  18. CP has a license to expand 7/11 franchises in Laos and Cambodia. Do Japanese employ secret shoppers to go there also because I find that hard to believe.
  19. Actually you can start one with only 1 million. 7 has several different "packages" depending on how much profits and risk you are after. Some of their packages even include rent. However, this info is from 15 years ago, so..... But when we were looking into opening Amazon 2 years ago, they also had a similar scheme. I think their smallest start up package was below 500k. Of course, this assumes a bank loan. They were guaranteeing 300 cups per day which was a break even point for a small franchise. I pulled out a calculator and if we were to take on a loan and go with the lowest priced package, 2 of us would be making about the same amount as barista. The only upside is that in 5 years the loan would be paid off and profits would be higher. Of course, they could get you on other things, such as required renovations, updates or whatever they want to do.
  20. Definitely better and I think King Power also provides health insurance and provident fund....something she would have to pay herself in the long run if she was her own "boss" at 7
  21. My wife used to work for CP as a 7/11 franchiser. She was a location specialist. She quit that job 15 years ago, but the OP is pretty much correct. The owners would be lucky to clear 30k a month after all expenses, but these expenses would probably include a bank loan. I wanted to open 7/11 out of pure boredom and the fact she could get a franchise on better terms as an ex employee, however, she convinced me that this is extremely hard work and a lot of headache. A better franchise in her opinion would be Amazon coffee, but I really hate their coffee. Some of her friends own 2-3 stores and are doing well. But they had years of training and know everything that there is to know about running this business. My wife is a big fan of Maru Waffle franchise and thinks it's a fun job with not much risk. Also any franchise that deals with ballz....fish ballz, pig ballz, chicken ballz......low fees, free training which can be useful once you decide to un-franchaise yourself.
  22. Asking 3 years later if it is now possible to register sim online with a passport or do they still only accept Thai ID. Any company is fine....true, dtac, ais....whatever
  23. Must be a really stupid movie from a stupid director. What old guy would hang himself bevause his penis won't go up. There are so many other pleasures in life besides zombie sex.
