What is fully funded? I have almost million dollars in savings. My wife also works and gets good salary. I don't think this is enough to live in a country where you have to pay for healthcare out of your own pocket and get kicked out if you don't satisfy immigration requirements which become more difficult as you get older. As for a younger wife, some of us like to live in the real world where your "younger" wife won't go cry to her bro at the first sign of missed payment.

That's another thing. My wife has been paying into life+health+social insurance since she started working at 18, so 25 years of non stop high premiums (not including insurance she gets from work). She proudly told me that in case she gets cancer, the insurance is going to pay me 500k baht compensation and pay for her treatment. However, if she gets cancer again then no luck. If you want to have any kind of preventive care here, you pay out of pocket. Forget about 6 month mammograms for women over 40 or once a year checkup.

Yes. I knew this comment would be coming. But for many people living in Canada is no issue at all. Thailand is for young people, not old. Came at 39 and I am 49 now. I don't want to spend another 20 years on this forum complaining, so I don't think I will be spending my old age here. I don't wanna go to immigration every year and beg for a visa especially when my body gets weaker. Not my country. Young guys in, old guys out. Only a matter of time before Thailand pulls Malaysia regarding retirement visas. The cost of everything is going up. Pity the folk who sold everything to live the dream. In my mid 50's the plan is to have enough money for me and wife for a business class to Thailand and stay 6 months a year or whatever and maintain Canadian residency. That is quality life, not slumming it here in heat and no Western kitchen.

This is what happens when you live in a 3rd world country with no money for hospital bills. A lot of my family in Canada are enjoying their lives in their mid 70's. Yes, in my old age I will be getting the best healthcare on taxpayer dime. Trust me, no old folk are envious of you living in Thailand.

I think he is asking how to translate from English to Thai and confirm the translation is, in fact correct as most people who live here know what google translate from/to Thai often comes out as gibberish. What I normally do is use google translate and then I feed the translated Thai sentence back to google to be translated back to English to check if it makes sense. Not bullet proof, but it works most of the time,

I do. As a matter of fact I do eat outside a lot. And I still think food here is garbage, but I have no choice. No thing such as western kitchen in Bangkok condo. Not paying 100k a month for something to resemble western condo and not even get a dishwasher. And I hope I don't hurt anyone's feelings here, but Thai food is one of the worst on the planet. Thais simply do not know how to cook. Pls do not get triggered.....

The only Thai girl that ever cost me money was the one i met in Canada on a study permit. She was from well off family and naturally she wanted to show off in front of her friends which meant me most of the time footing the bill for outings and trips. She was also much younger in her early 20's, so I did not mind much. My previous Thai wife worked for Siemens. The last one just got hired by US company and works from home. I paid f all in the last 10 years and never pulled money out of ATM for any girl, even when I was dating on Tinder. I do my cheap charlie research before I go on a date, so there.

Because in Thailand it is about location, price and who you know and not about how great your business plan is. So you open up your grocery store and tomorrow Somchai opens 7/11 next to you. Who is going to win? Also with 7/11 you can start with a smaller capital like 1 million baht. They have several price points for franchises. Great for people with not so deep pockets and easy to get a bank loan. My wife used to work for CP doing exactly this....scouting locations and opening stores before she moved to other things. Your only option would be to sell jackfruit or fishballs next to 7 to get any kind of traffic. What grocery store lol

Updated info on good hospitals in Bangkok
Celsius replied to TheLaughingMan's topic in Health and Medicine
I think MedPark at present is a very good hospital overall unlike other expensive hospitals which are a hit and miss depending on what doctor is on duty. So, that being said, it is not about the hospital, but more about the doctors at these hospitals. I think you should mention what is your concern to get a much better advice. -
I have experience with this. You need to do endoscopy at like this very moment to get the correct diagnosis. In my case I have hiatal hernia and acid never goes away. It gets managed with gaviscon advance mostly. Your drinking is causing you anxiety issues. Having beer just sometimes won't cut it. Same for junk food. Your acid reflux will get 100 times worse if you get any form of anxiety. This is why it is actually very important to have endoscopy. I had it along with a CT scan and since there was nothing besides hernia and some gallstones I sleep better at night and my acid has gone from 8 out of 10 to 1 out of 10, No, I don't think you are careful at all.

Thing is I would eat this over street food any time. -
Paying 1800 a month to sit in the heat, getting ratted out and haggling with cheap foreigners to make 1 sale per day. If you are interested my wife can hook you up with opening 7/11 franchise. The money is garbage, but at least there will be money and aircon.

This. Also selling on Amazon is not worth it amymore. I did really well in the past when i was dropshipping from amazon uk, de, ca etc. to Amazon US customers. It was such a stupid and easy way to make money. Literally paid off my condo with the profits. These days amazon will ban you just for registering. Very very difficult. Etsy is easier, but I don't bother anymore. I am testing shoppee and lazada at the moment. Thai customers are quite different tho and it is price, packaging and presentation that matters. The big upside is that logistics and shipping is so cheap here that it is almost worth it to sell anything really. But It is a lot more difficult to make a sale.

Any electronics you import from Aliexpress or similar will be cheaper on Shopee and Lazada. There is both shopee and Lazada dropoffs in China and Chinese sellers are able to offer the items on local Thai markets for less. I have done my research as I have been doing e-commerce for 20 years. What you will be doing makes little sense. You should also never hold the inventory like this as the value goes down every single day.

Opinions please on Fords' Next Gen Rangers please ....
Celsius replied to South's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
Personally I prefer Ford over Japanese cars due to comfort. as I am relatively tall. The ride in Ford is also much smoother and at least it seems safer. However, Ford in Thailand does have a bad reputation for after sales service. Many first hand stories from wife about refusing to honor the warranty. -
My wife went to do a scan at Krungsri. They told her she does not need to do a face scan since her ID had a picture and they would just use this. The staff told her her app would indicate if she was approved for transfers and indeed she was. No face scan was needed. My passport was lost. They never asked to see the old passport. This was at SCB. But yes, they sent this to the main office and takes 1 week to sort it out,
