What's missing from this discussion is the many benefits of cannabis such as chronic pain relief, an aid in regulating insulin and reducing diabetes, fighting cancer, relieving depression, strengthening bones, treating glaucoma, slowing the development of alzheimer's diseases, treating erectile dysfunction, and many others. There has even been a study that found marijuana not only doesn't damage the lungs but actually increases lung capacity -- https://healthland.time.com/2012/01/10/study-smoking-marijuana-not-linked-with-lung-damage/ It's important to realize that the pharmaceutical industry (and hence the official medical establisment) has a vested interest in demonizing cannabis. Odd that we never hear any criticisms of the use of Xanax, valium, Prozac and other commonly used drugs including Viagra, for that matter. Cannabis has none of the side effects commonly associated with these drugs but nobody is calling for Viagra or Xanax to be banned.

You're ot talking about marijuana use but marijuana abuse. But the definition i wrong. Addiction implies a physical dependence, which creates a physical craving. What's often cited as an addiction, such as sex addiction, porn addiction, etc. is really a behavioral problem that's indicitive of underlyng psychological issues. Unfortunately, the modern psychiatric community has a vested interest in seeing addiction everywhere, which then has to be treated at great expenses and often medication.

When people smoke tobacco, they're usually smoking 20 or 30 cigarettes a day or more. Marijuana users are more likely to smoke 1 or 2 joints if that. When marijuana was first liberalized here, I bought 10 grams and smoked nearly every day for a week. Then I stopped with no trouble at all. And I have no desire to continue smoking either.

By that definition anything can be addictive, sex, video games, chocolate, yoga, etc. But the point is that marijuana does not create a physical dependency in the way that, say, that alcohol or opiates do. If they've seen only 103 patients, you have to figure that marijuana isn't the cause but the psychological state of the patients.

"Intefering with the free market". That's a joke. What do you think QE was and all that money poured into subsidizing businesses during the pandemic (which was used it to goose management salaries and buy back shares). The Fed has done nothing but interfere with the free market ever since the Reagan era. You probably have hundreds of businesses in Thailand that borrowed cheap dollars when interest rates were at zero. And not just in Thailand but all over the world. This isn't going to help the tourist trade much either unless you expect an influx of Americans, which I doubt since most of them have no money. I'm American though, and I have money so I'm happy as a clam. I get better interest rates on my cash and a strong dollar.

Corruption (in the thai sense) is when your enemy is getting the money you think should be going to you.

If you're a fan of Korean dramas, Big Mouth is worth a watch. I downloaded from dramacool.cr -

I also thought it was very funny, although the fan base was apparently up in arms. -
A Heads Up - Two Browsers are better than one.
jaywalker2 replied to Daffy D's topic in IT and Computers
I haven't had that problem although one of the most recent updates did create a storm of protest. They added a new "feature" that, when you magnified the text size, also magnified the menu and address bar sizes. Fortunately, there is a work around but Firefox can't afford mistakes like that. -

I'm also a dedicated firefox user. I've tried all the others (Brave, Opera, Chrome, Edge, Vivaldi) but Firefox is just the best in terms of privacy, customization, and extensions in my opinion. I can't understand why it doesn't have more market share. I avoid Microsoft and Google apps whenever possible. -

Sorry, I should have said it was the only place I could find the complete season 1. -

I'm watching season 1 now. Great show. Holliday Grainer is particularly good. The only place I could find it was Pirate Bay. -

All the rich foreigners got involved in the anti-Yingluck protests -- and I bet it did them a lot of good! -
The OP didn't buy the goods from Lazada. He ordered it from a Lazada vendor but the vendor, instead of sending the goods, conveyed the purchase information to a third party who then sent the fradulent goods. The OP wants Lazada to take responsbility because their vendor was party to the fraud. Lazada is apparently refusing because the original order was never sent (and finally canceled). Is that so hard to understand?

Why do people want a condo for their 2 week holiday ???
jaywalker2 replied to Peterw42's topic in General Topics
Sure, my building too. One month minimum, no using the face recognition without a contract. Those are the rules. So why did I keep Arabs and Chinese and Westerners who only seem to stay a few days and then disappear? -
I did have a problem once with the magnet. When I clicked on it, an ad would come up instead of my torrent client. I finally had to use the torrent button instead, which worked fine.

I self insure but be aware, the older you get, the harder it will be for you to get insurance. At 62, you should be able to get a policy that you can hopefully keep for your lifetime but once you edge towards 70, buying insurance will become more and more difficult. 4 million does seem like a lot. You're talking a major illness. The best thing is to get a complete physical and review your family history to see if you're likely to have any major problems in the future and then decide.

Do you cook your own food in Thailand?
jaywalker2 replied to Don Chance's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
I cook at home. It's easier, more convenient, and I don't have to worry about the quality of the ingredients. Most of the rest of the building seems to be ordering from Grab, however. -

It's a wonder you rich people would want to go slumming then. You must be really lonely. -

I'm talking about the Thai wines readily available at places like Central, Siam Paragon, Big C, etc. I'm certainly not going to waste my time seeking out esoteric Thai wines. -

Thai wines should be selling for around 100 baht a bottle. I can't imagine who is paying 300 or 400 baht for the stuff.
