  1. Stop what? He is the pioneer of self-driving cars. I will be the first one dancing in the streets when human drivers are banned and all cars are self-driving. Bunch of reckless bad drivers, drunk drivers, hit and run. Dangerous streets will come to an end. Taxi drivers ripping you off will come to an end. Not sure about all his other projects, but I support the self-driving and it's a leap forward for humanity to get rid of human drivers on the roads. What contributions have you made to humanity? Let me guess .... none. Me neither.
  2. Trump's mind is as sharp as a Ginsu knife. He's 15 moves ahead of everybody.
  3. But anyway, there's people overdosing on drugs everywhere in the world. So maybe those stories are being blown out of proportion. Just stay away from the drug scene anywhere in the world and you're good to go.
  4. Well, there was a book called "Off the Rails in Cambodia". I guess if you avoid that crowd, you won't witness it first hand. I just watched a video of a Youtuber living in Cambodia mention this. And I just did a google search and found this article: https://english.cambodiadaily.com/news/when-the-needle-and-the-damage-are-done-a-difficult-diagnosis-awaits-771/ It was in this wobbly wooden house built over the water that 26-year-old Kieran Power died on April 29. Friends living nearby said he overdosed on drugs, the culmination of a weeks-long spiral into depression and substance abuse brought on by losing his job as an English teacher. Power was one of an increasing number of foreigners drawn to Boeng Kak by the area’s reputation for cheap accommodations, weak law enforcement and easily available drugs. He was also on a growing list of Westerners who have died in grim circumstances among the maze of unsurfaced alleys and budget guest houses that lines the eastern shore of Phnom Penh’s largest lake.
  5. thats why trump's proposal needs to be considered. I don't see the UN, Norway, or Sweden offering up any solutions.
  6. how accurate is that? I have no idea, but maybe it's not a big deal. but always check with your doctor.
  7. who is "the world"? you're expecting a bunch of nations to come together for international justice? that would be nice in an ideal world, but for whatever reasons seems implausible.
  8. a** (as in pear-shaped a**)
  9. why would you want to read about cambodia's horrible past? it will make you want to blow your brains out and never set foot in the country.
  10. Mods, how come we can't copy and paste images anymore?
  11. The thing is, we ain't seen nuthin' yet with The Donald. He will likely be one of the most remembered people in all of history. in 10,000 years, everyone will know who he was.
  12. Been following the Youtuber Ramze Travels. He's been in Thailand 2 years and now he is getting bored and wants to move on. Either back to US or somewhere else. So everyone is different. Some people need constant change. I was in a crappy job that I hated. And finally I got laid off. So the Gods are pushing my out of my comfort zone. I noticed that a lot of people back home who have had the same job for life have a kind of "arrested development". They haven't grown. Sometimes, life pushes some people out of their comfort zone and moving abroad is such a thing. And it isn't about finding paradise. It's just about expanding yourself a bit. Which people who visit the same few kilometres or miles their whole life don't seem to be doing.
  13. Still holding a grudge because I bashed Norway? We all need to course correct for various reasons. I don't know how long I'll be anywhere.
  14. yeah, VW micro bus. how much do those cost in thailand? rich kid living off daddy's money, never worked a day in life, acting stupid in bars.
  15. I still believe in soul-mates. If I find one, I'll get hitched. Otherwise, I will stay single. I'm a weirdo anyway, so I don't need to conform to societal norms. Getting hitched complicates life. Then the decisions all have to be consentual with the other person. You may end up in Isaan or moving back home even if you prefer to stay in Thailand.
  16. that was the mamasan there who said "get the eff out of my bar". don't mess with mamasans man. this guy is lucky there weren't a bunch of thugs around to jump in and all he got was a high heel to the head.
  17. haha, reviving the thread after 2 months. and ... why do you ask? you an investigative journalist or what?
  18. maybe not in this instance where there has been war for decades. they would be moved to a place of safety and allowed to continue to exercise their religious rights and culture. no other solutions have worked.
  19. There is 50 million tons of debris there and it will take 20 years to clean up the place.
  20. And then the same author wrote another book called ... drum roll ... THE LAST PRESIDENT
