Let me answer your question another way.
Just using tariffs as an example to make the point.
By increasing tariffs against canada, he is hurting some canadian inudustries,but benefiting some american industries.
So is it a good or bad thing? Depends who you are.
Also, as a result of this, Canada might cozy up to the EU more. So in other words, that may set up an entire chain of events and it might take 10 years to see the full extent the impact of just this one decision will have.
My point is that there is so much complexity involved in some of the decisions they are making that it's practically impossible to gauge if it's "good" or "bad".
And anyone who keeps talking negatively about Trump as though everything he does is stupid is being silly. If you're overly indoctrinated either pro or anti Trump, then you render yourself useless to analyzing anything he is doing objectively.
