  1. No the Universe is sentient. But it's beyond the scope of this forum. The topic is Thailand.
  2. Here is a silly karma comment. There's a man that just killed his 6 yr old son. Of course actions like that produce serious karma. Nothing silly about it.
  3. The fast food inside the hospitals and bad dietary advice keeps you dependent on the medications and the for-profit medical system. Not just in Thailand. The West too.
  4. Animal foods high in cholesterol are not the problem. Processed carbs are the problem because they elevetate triglyceride levels.
  5. For those of you consulting doctors and taking statins, have your doctors scared you off foods high in cholesterol like eggs? You do realize that processed carbs increasing triglyceride levels is the main problem, not foods like eggs, right?
  6. Gamma, I found a Japan Expat Forum for you https://www.expatforum.com/forums/japan-expat-forum-for-expats-living-in-japan.34/

  8. But he still seems to think it's a worthy cause, even if there is possible backlash. And given that it's a pharmacy and not a souvenir shop, he has a valid point for taking this stance.
  9. one more reason to escape to canada and freeze your ass off. to get away from disgruntled old men in thailand.
  10. Good idea. And perhaps consider supplementing with CoEnzyme Q10 as apparently the statins deplete this in the body. Personally, I try to tweak the body with diet and avoid statins.
  11. I have a bargirl Knock Knock joke. Knock Knock? Who's there? It's kinda loud in here. Do you wanna go maybe someplace quieter? I'm on a budget. I can't afford you. I'm not a hooker. Then I really can't afford you.
  12. Gamma does. He's highly competitive. And he will need to step up his game on Japan expat forums. Gamma, you a cat person?
  13. What kind of visa allows you to stay for 20 years, if you don't mind me asking? I thought Japan was very frugal with handing out stays to foreigners. I guess you need to get married to a local to stay long-term?
  14. https://www.axios.com/2019/10/30/lipitor-pfizer-drug-patent-sales-2019 Lipitor, the cholesterol-lowering medication that has become the gold standard of statins, continues to generate roughly $2 billion per year in sales for Pfizer,
  15. Yes, exactly.
  16. Which poster from Scotland are you referring to? Realistically, you're not even in the Top 10 posters on here. And keep in mind that many posters are not regular posters. If they posted regularly, you would easily drop to below the Top 20. And also keep in mind that competition on Japan expat forums is even more fierce. Good luck!
  17. Mauritius has one of the highest GDPs in Africa. And also has 10 and 20 year residence permits, I think.
  18. healthcare in japan must be very expensive? you factored that in?

  23. But you didnt start this thread, so you are probably content staying in Thailand, so if it ain't broke don't fix it. These types of threads seem to pop up quite often. And for people who are on the fence, these threads probably add to their confusion since there are so many conflicting opinions.
  24. Based on your posting history, you seem to be agonizing over the decision to move back. And also seems like you are highly impressionable to comments from people on here. Not sure why you are defending Canada's climate. It can be rather harsh. But then again, some people don't like tropical climates either. Healthcare is a major consideration to move back as you won't have to deal with the issues of private healthcare. If you have some money in your pocket, you can fly out of wherever you live a month or two each year and add a bit of excitement to your life.
