  1. one thing about the elites is they plan things 100 years in advance. which is not necessarily a bad thing. but if you only see 2 feet in front of you, you may not see the forest for the trees. no one is talking about the great reset. i don't see any threads on the forum about the great reset. no one has looked into it in any detail. in my opinion, many things they are planning in the future for the great reset are positive. it's not all negative. and it's not all a nefarious plot to stomp on your head for no apparent reason. a lot of things in the future will be a lot better than they are now based on this great reset. we are entering a new era in human history. we are witnessing the death of an old era. if you only see 2 feet in front of you, nothing will make sense.
  2. yeah, perpetually pump n' dump. forever and ever. never get emotionally attached. that's what the soi dogs do and it works fine for them.
  3. Regarding Eckhart Tolle, he is encouraging people to examine the inner workings of their mind. which is a useful thing.
  4. I didn't say it's all nonsense.
  5. Ok, lets talk about Eckhart Tolle then. I haven't read his work, just a few quotes. He claims in his book that meditation can cure illnesses. I don't believe it. This appears to be nonsense to me, possibly deliberate on his part. So the guy with the most charisma and eloquence comes off as the most 'enlightened', even though many of the things these people are saying are factually inaccurate and/or useless. You can't trust everything anyone says. Except Snoopy.
  6. Could be. Jesus went to Pattaya and avoided the bars. Check the Bible if you don't believe me. No, love does have to hurt.
  7. hong kong giving away 500,000 free flights to lure tourists. first round available to southeast asia residents now. next round available to other countries from May. to enter contest https://wow.hongkongairport.com/lang/en/tickets/
  8. I don't know most of the people on the list. I looked up Mother Meera. She is a self-proclaimed 'mystic'. Sometimes self-proclaimed mystics are charlatans. Maybe Robin Williams was "enlightened", even though that word is vague and I don't like using it. He devoted his life to making people laugh .... so there is less chance that we take life too seriously and become too embittered and end up starting world war 3 and killing each other.
  9. maybe Nobel prize for literature is a bit much, but his songs are worth a listen for their odd lyrics. Bob Dylan - I Contain Multitudes https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8jUJW8kfT-8 Bob Dylan - False Prophet https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aIF0gkqvaQ0
  10. like who? that term is vague and almost meaningless. is the dalai lama enlightened? he may know a lot, but some of his advice seems silly ... for instance, he has advocated celibacy because relationships can lead to suffering. doesn't seem feasible for everyone to be avoiding relationships. so maybe 'enlightened' doesn't exist.
  11. the whole concept of 'credible link' is flawed / outdated / corrupt / useless / and or silly. in the past, the internet didn't exist. we ONLY had access to govt-approved sources of information. if I ask you ... what is a credible link about retiring in Pattaya? Is International Living Magazine credible? The answer is yes and no. It depends on which information. They sometimes have to hide things to keep the money rolling in and not frighten some of their audience away. So they may omit talking about the seedy side. Or they make not recommend the place as a retirement destination to avoid being associated with 'bar girls'. As they are a "reputable" source, there are certain things they are not allowed to discuss. So in other words, for many aspects of retiring in Pattaya, a forum like this becomes more of a credible link. Because people are anonymous and not trying to run a for-profit magazine, they can say what they really experienced living in Pattaya .. the good, the bad, and the ugly. Without fear of losing revenue. Of course some posters opinions are more reliable than others .. But the concept of "credible link" is flawed. If you wanted to retire in Pattaya, you would ideally read mainstream magazines for some general info, but you would get a more complete picture by also reading forums. People are using the internet but don't understand what it is. Any reasonably intelligent person expressing an opinion is a potential credible link. As the internet is a tool to empower anyone to get a message across to an audience. Where that was not possible in the past. With regards to science, you can watch the film "Thank You For Smoking". They made it clear that the initial research into whether cigarettes cause cancer was funded by the Tobacco companies. Credible links are not always credible. And sometimes a nobody online can be a credible link.
  12. I try to avoid advertising. Women is an entirely different issue as there is sex and emotions involved. But even then, you need to learn when your woman is being too manipulative to extricate yourself.
  13. yes, we are easily manipulated. sometimes you can tell or suspect by someone's facial expressions that they are lying. and there's no time to fact-check everything as we are being bombarded with information.
  14. there's a joke by comedian stephen wright. everywhere is walking distance if you have the time. do you have the time to fact-check everything? also ... do you believe in 'intuition' ?
  15. they're all different. you need to understand the one you're with. i've dated some emotionally challenging / crazy women. maybe i got in over my head since i myself was psychologically messed up. but i think it was Louis K or whatever his name is ... that comedian that joked that we should take on crazy women because no one else will take them on.
  16. i haven't read buddhism in many many years, but i remember getting some useful practical information from it. what you're quoting seems like abstract useless nonsense. managing our material lives is important. it's not nothingness or emptiness or illusory.
  17. I was raised in the catholic church, but let me tell you man I got out of there at a fairly young age. We actually had one priest come in once and had us repeat loudly repeatedly "we are stinkers!" It was quite comical. The bible is not complete bs. Depends how you make use of it. 'Garden of Eden' can represent peace of mind. 'Snake in the grass' can represent any number of things which disrupt our peace of mind. For me, the daily news which is full of negativity is one such snake in the grass that saps my peace of mind. In fact, the news outlets are doing it on purpose. They bombard us with negativity. We were warned in the bible about snakes in the grass. And I try to stay away from those threads on this forum. But those threads are constantly full of replies and no one wants those to be shut down. Was Jesus a fictional character? I'm not even sure. Maybe he was. But some of his quotes might still be useful.
  18. it's quite an interesting phenomenon taking place here. the thread seems to be seriously bothering some people. your analysis is probably not far off the mark.
  19. I'm not a big fan of pot, but I don't go into the pot threads and ask them to shut it down. Why does it bother you so much that the thread should continue?
  20. yeah, i think they may be making an unrealistic sales pitch about what that river can actually do for you.
  21. fruit is not the same as processed sugar. ideally, learn to make your own cookies - coconut flour - erythritrol or monk fruit - baking soda - eggs - butter - sugar free chocolate chips
  22. A guy was filming his trip to Ganges on Youtube and a fight broke out. So was kind of funny.
  23. jordan peterson's definition of God: the voice that calls you .. the spirit of conscience that calls you on your malfeasance
  24. you don't like farangs?
  25. Had a dreamIt was warAnd they couldn't tell me what it was forBut it was something they could lie aboutSomething we could die about
