  1. @Liquorice I don't know why you are giving me advice on what to upload to an e-visa? I applied for and received a non-imm O within last 6 months and e-visa site tells you exactly what documents to upload after you specify country and Embassy you're applying to (so not generic list like you think) How about you, have you ever actually applied for a non-imm O e-visa that you're advising about? Btw, Thai Embassy London requires £18,000 for non-imm O (Retirement), not £10k like you say. This site below lines up exactly with what the e-visa portal says https://london.thaiembassy.org/en/page/retirement-visa
  2. E-visa changed everything. Once you have your documents scanned it takes you < 5 minutes to apply. Visa is emailed within a few days Much easier than having to go to an immigration office in Thailand
  3. Was that for a non-imm O based on marriage by any chance as £10,000 meets the 400,000 baht marriage requirement but not the 800,000 baht needed for retirement
  4. You should disregard that site as wrong info is everywhere, eg. Only needing £10,000 bank statement (about 430,000 baht instead of 800,000) and straight after what you quoted it says USD100,000 insurance is required for non-imm O. The only site you need to access is the Thai e-visa site https://www.thaievisa.go.th/ This states the following for non-imm O
  5. Despite what the Embassy site says you do not need to be getting a pension for a non-imm O visa. The e-visa process is very simple now and I received the non-imm O in April 3 days after applying. All I needed was to be 50+ and upload: - Passport ID Page - photo - drivers licence (to prove resident) - 6 month bank statement showing 800k baht or equivalent
  6. Why on earth wouldn't you just elect to have your bank statements sent by email rather than 1 month overseas mail?

    Thai Tax

Don't have to look at the small print at bottom of page, it says it's Siam Legal in the banner at top of page They seem to catch a lot of people out though with their fake "Thai Embassy" website
  8. I've never done online shopping but there is a guy in my Condo block who has his own parcel bin in the lobby. Every day I walk past it's got parcels in it so shopaholic springs to mind 😆
  9. Makes you wonder why they insist on 3 million baht insurance for a 1 year OA Visa but are happy to give someone a 5 year DTV with no insurance and no money in Thai bank
  10. The OA Visa insurance never reduced back to 400,000/40,000 like you say happened above. When they announced the new DTV in June they also said there would be changes to OA Visa insurance around September. To my knowledge it never happened and a quick look on Thai Embassy sites shows it still listed at 3 million baht insurance required.
  11. So can that please also apply to all the bike rental places taking up all the parking spaces
  12. 4 games in and only the Chiefs and Vikings are undefeated 4-0 At the other end of scale, Jaguars only winless team (0-4)
  13. Looks good but be aware once you go over $50k the 5% applies to the whole balance so you no longer get 5.2% on first $50k. (5% is still great rate though with no other deposit rules) From the fine print: When your balance increases to the next interest rate tier you will receive the interest rate for that tier on the entire balance of your Freedom Saver Account.
  14. Heads up for Westpac savers. I just logged into my Westpac app and it demanded I change my Password (said if I don't change it within next 3 log ins it will lock my account). It seems Westpac just changed their password criteria so my password no longer complied (it now requires a special character). Bit rude to threaten locking account though as I haven't used my password in years (use 4 digit pin or finger scan on app)
  15. How would anyone know if "application for extension not approved, you must leave the kingdom" stamp will effect a DTV application?
  16. Thankfully 49ers beat Patriots to now be 2-2
  17. I think he's just delusional. He actually thinks proposed tax rules are valid and that the ATO is going to set up an international task force to catch a few old pensioners living in Thailand on aged pension 😉
  18. Wouldn't change anything against the ridiculously strong Baht. The £ has tanked vs the Baht just like $A, gone from 47 to 43 in last 3 months
  19. Well OP says guy was married so can easily use his Wife's bank account to transfer/withdraw baht to live
  20. So basically a very long OP just to say a guy uses a Swiss Embassy income letter to extend his non-imm O.
  21. Isn't there a specific gay forum for threads like these? Why does this have to clutter up the Pub forum?
  22. Was all stated as not true in the news yesterday "Confusion ends about tax exemption for Elite visa holders" https://www.pattayamail.com/latestnews/news/confusion-ends-about-tax-exemption-for-elite-visa-holders-473780
  23. Instead of answering the question here on this forum you linked him to another forum? You've basically said don't bother with this forum, go to that one instead 🤔
