  1. No, I'm pretty confident nothing will change with 30 day extension so don't need to wait for gazette as extension was never stated as something to change Meanwhile this whole thread is about will an entry after 1 June result in a 60 day visa exempt stamp instead of 30 days because what, they don't believe the press releases that clearly say it will?
  2. Did you not realise Thai immigration is open for airport arrivals 24/7, including June 1st?
  3. This part says it all "Meanwhile, according to Col. Navin, the contracted security group responsible for the attack operated independently, without any official Pattaya City approval or training. They were not directly affiliated with any bar establishment or group, said Col. Navin, and the contractors violated Thai government policies. As a result, the group of independent guards will face legal action for this as well, said Col. Navin.
  4. For the last 2.5 years visa exempt was increased to 45 days at various stages and the 30 day TM7 extension never changed from 1900 baht, so why would you think it'll change now that they've increased visa exempt to 60 days? Plus the 30 day extension was never mentioned to change in any of the press releases...
  5. Every article on the new 1 June visa rules say current 30 day visa exempt will be increased to 60 days visa exempt. So yes, you'll now get 60 days on entry. Why is this even a question?
  6. I agree it is a stupid requirement to demand pre-booking of months of holiday accommodation, however I just had a look at what a Thai has to do to go to Belarus. There is no visa exempt and to get a visa they need to show proof of flight and all accommodation. So same same 😉
  7. So I'm assuming you are from Belarus? They gave Russia 60 day visa exempt so why not you?
  8. No, the increase from 30 to 60 days is only for the visa exempt entry, so you missed it by 30 days
  9. China and India seem to be the big winners here. Last year the most they could do was pay for a 15 day visa on arrival that could not be extended. Now the two biggest populations on the planet get a free 60 day visa exempt that can be extended 30 days
  10. You'll get 60 days entry just like what the tourist e-visa says (or if you don't show your e-visa printout to IO you'll get 60 days visa exempt entry)
  11. What would be the point. 60 day e-visa costs $60 and is exactly the same 60 days as a free vIsa exempt?
  12. Well currently you needed four 30+30 day entries for 8 months....now you only need 3 entries for 9 months so no problem as less visits 😀
  13. Soi 6 security guards are not police and your scenario is opposite to here as you're implying the Brits were the aggressors whereas the security guards were the ones looking for a fight
  14. No need for tourist visa now as you get same 60 days for visa exempt from 1 June
  15. Visa exempt is increased from 30 to 60 days but I don't see any mention of 30 day extensions being increased to 60 days?
  16. Wondering what happens to expat insurance policies now since they've backfipped on O-A insurance and went back to 440k. I'm on a non-O and fishing for insurance and most of the good policies were for 3 million baht like the O-A....might wait a month to see what happens
  17. Yes, except you're 100 baht short, 30 day extension is 1900 baht
  18. So with the visa exempt now 60 days they've just made the single entry tourist visa obsolete 😀
  19. @nicelee808 It looks like you won't need to get an extension. 30 days visa exempt will change to 60 days from June 1
  20. Shouldn't this be in the Thai Visa section? I only saw it because you closed the open thread there with a link to this one. Never would have seen it otherwise
  21. If OP wants a good challenge please go to Helicopter Bar on soi 6 and argue your bill with cashier. She'll have 3 security thugs on you straight away to kick the <deleted> out of you. Is that enough challenge?
  22. Yes it does. White shirt is walking backwards with guard rushing towards him. White shirt trys to push him away and guard clocks him with the first punch thrown
  23. I'm just wondering that since all Thai news has reported the foreigner hit the security guard first that if he reports to police they will charge him with assault? Even though cctv showed the guard threw the first punch I'd be concerned about that
