  1. The published rules state 800k in bank with proof from foreign source. Jomtien insistence on 800k for 2 months is purely driving agent involvement so immigration get their cut. In fact agents buying into it as they demanded I have 800k in bank for 3 months to apply or pay full amount of 25k to get non-imm O visa (ridiculous 23k if I did have 800k for 3 months) By what lawful regulation do you think Jomtien is applying this rule?
  2. So pretty much covid work around rules now not available
  3. Why would it change? O-A used to be 400k inpatient/40k outpatient. It just changed to 3 million baht cover as I quoted so not likely to change again. As for the O-A itself it's multi entry and gives 12 months stay every re-entry so gives almost 2 years if you re-enter just before 12 month expiry (as long as you keep insurance valid) As I said previously, best visa after my Jomtien hell, never need to visit immigration for 2 years, which means I don't even have to do a TM30 after the first time ????
  4. Is AJ a member on here? Is any Pattaya News reporters a member? Would love to ask them to comment (thinking defamation laws may prevent Pattaya News article)
  5. TM7 is for the initial or following requests for an extension of stay. My post never mentioned extension of stay and was for an application of Non-Imm O visa (TM7 not used, I used TM87 for transfer to non-imm O from visa exempt)
  6. Sorry to interrupt but what is a life certificate?
  7. I posted "Jomtien immigration demands 800k in bank account for 2 months prior to application for Non-Immigration O (Retirement)". Where did I mention any 12 month extension to get you confused?
  8. That's for the 12 month extension to the Non-imm O. My post is about the initial Non-imm O visa which only requires 800k on day of application (even Laos only require bank letter without 2 months seasoning)
  9. When got yours July last year they were still issuing 60 day covid extensions. Pretty sure you can't do that today post covid rules (unless it's a magical Agent Tourist Visa)
  10. I've checked that out. Pacific Cross with 40k deductible (once per policy year) gives 3 million baht insurance for 38k a year. I'd be getting insurance anyway and that's cheaper than my current health insurance in Aus O-A visa also means I never have to visit immigration for 2 years (other than first 90 day report in person) ????
  11. Several people on here (myself included) have reported Jomtien immigration demands 800k in bank account for 2 months prior to application for Non-Immigration O (Retirement). This is totally different to the rest of the country who only require funds in bank day of application. I now see Pattaya City Expats Club has also issued this warning with 3 cases reported as above https://pcec.club/LATEST-IMMIGRATION-INFORMATION This makes it impossible for visa exempt entries without a bank account to apply for a non-imm O in Jomtien. Even if you get bank account first day of 30 day exempt entry and get 30 day extension, you still cannot apply for non-imm O as it must be done 15 days prior to expiry of current entry stamp (so you need at least 76 days entry) Is there a place to report this to or getting word out there the only way and hoping someone like Pattaya News picks it up as a story? For me I'm going back to Aus to get an O-A visa so to not have to deal with this rubbish (I'm not paying an agent 25k when 800k is already in bank)
  12. But SETV does require a return/onward flight at application of visa, no flight no visa (so of course you don't need at check-in as you've already proved you have one)
  13. I've got some great movie channels on my Condo Cable TV but it's always frustrating that there is no schedule, so finding a movie starting at the right time is hit and miss. I find "Pattaya People" TV has the most current movies often weeks after cinema release finished, however googling schedule failed and downloaded their App which was useless. I did find the following link which gives me HBO schedule and if you scroll to the bottom it gives Cinemax, Hits Movies and Showcase https://tvwish.com/MY/Channels/HBO-HD/Schedule/1261/Today Another great movie channel is "Cinemachi" but I can't find a schedule for that either Anyone have any Pattaya Movie Channel links so I can better plan my retirement days?
  14. Why don't you start a "How to TM30 online" thread and publish your guideline you keep sending by PM to people as then we can all see it?
  15. How does OP get more than 9 months out of a METV? it's valid for 6 months with a maximum stay of 60 days + 30 day extension. So enter just before end of 6 months gives you another 60 + 30 to make almost 9 months
  16. If you have to top up every 6 months you've got a major leak (or you're being scammed). Plus over gassing is not good the aircon units I recently had my 4 aircon serviced for the first time in 10 years thinking for sure they'd need gassing. Nope, I was advised all 4 did not need gas
  17. Isn't Probation a suspended prison sentence, so technially the same thing? Either way he has a criminal record and if an Elite visa criminal record check doesn't pick that up then what is the point of having a criminal check at all
  18. OP just so you don't join the long queue at the "Visa on Arival" desk, you will be arriving "Visa Exempt". A Visa on Arrival is only for about 18 countries who can't get visa exempt and gives 15 days on arrival for 2000 baht
  19. As an Aussie you get a 30 day visa exempt entry. This can be extended for 30 days (not 7) for a cost of 1900 baht. You need to fill out a TM7 form (available at immigration) and provide a copy of your passport data page and entry stamp and a passport photo. You also need to provide a copy of a TM30 which your hotel does when you check-in. Ask the hotel staff for a copy.
  20. TM30 is required within 24 hours of any stay in Thailand, which is pretty unique to just Thailand. It is not created specifically for the extension like you seem to think, it's just one of the documents to tick off like copy of passport and entry stamp
  21. Baht Bus to Jomtien, walk soi 5 to Immigration, wait outside in heat for whoever knows how long, baht bus back to Pattaya - cost 20 baht Walk to Soi 13/2 to go to favourite bar, drop passport with agent on the way, pick up next day same way - cost 100 baht I definitely prefer the latter option for 80 baht difference (not everyone likes or could be bothered with computers to do it online)
  22. Wonder how many people will turn up at 07:38 only to see the office doesn't open until 08:30 (I think OP was very lucky)
  23. I did 6 months in Europe visiting most EU countries and no-one cared where I was as no TM30 equivalent was required?
  24. I'm shocked Jomtien immigration processed a passport at 07:40 when they don't formally open until 08:30. Nice to hear they can be helpful sometimes ????
