  1. I just watched this cctv video and it's pretty damning for the security guards. The first violence is when a guard physically throws the black shirt guy out of the bar (he appeared to be trying to calm everyone down). Cctv is very clear the guard agressively followed the white shirt guy outside who tried to push him away. Guard then clearly threw the first punch.
  2. There's an update on Pattaya News saying police picked up the 3 security guards at 11:30 pm last night. Doesn't say what if any charges have been laid but does say foreigners have declined to file a police report Article says condition of foreigners is unknown but if rumours that one died was true, wouldn't the other two definitely file a police report?

    Soi 6 beatdown

Wrong. Same security on soi 6 covers a large group of bars. I've seen them patrolling up and down the street many times

    Soi 6 beatdown

News reports don't mention any girl getting punched

    Soi 6 beatdown

Just read the news we're not allowed to quote. States argument started over bill for 3 foreigners, 2 agreed to pay 3rd guy didn't and started fight with security guard (no mention of punching a girl as said in OP) News says police have video and are reviewing cctv and say they will do a full investigation Hopefully the security guys kicking defenseless men in the head while lying on the ground will be punished no matter what started it
  7. Think you need to google. Many sites say since 1 Jan 2020 the property tax is based on 0.02% value of building when you just own the house (up to $40 million baht value). Note: foreigners obviously cannot own land in Thailand but if someone owns both land and house it's actually more at 0.03% of total value Here is one example of many sites saying 0.02% of house value is correct (same rate as Condo) https://www.tilleke.com/insights/new-land-and-building-tax-act-thailand/
  8. First off, the fee has always been 0.02% of their calculated property value. With you saying your tax is 7,500 baht that means a property value of 37.5 million baht? I was never charged anything before 2020 (had Condo since 2009), I had significantly reduced fees 2021/22 (less than 100 baht) and had full fee last year and this year. Mine is only 1144 baht on a 5.72 million valued property
  9. TM6 is not required at 8 land borders (up to 15 Oct 2024) and Chieng Saen was supposed to be one of them. The TAT news release does have a caveat mentioned though, so maybe that doesn't include your boat trip? "Chieng Saen Immigration Checkpoint, Chiang Rai (Only on the permitted overland transportation route from the border to the checkpoint)" https://www.tatnews.org/2024/04/thailand-suspends-filing-of-tm6-immigration-form-for-land-and-sea-arrivals/
  10. Last couple of days I found it strange that cars/bikes are still driving on the left hugging the white line, rather than driving in the middle of the one-way road (I almost got hit by a bike yesterday while walking on the line) This means it's much safer walking on the LK Metro side of the road no matter which direction you're walking. Other than that, traffic flow does seem much improved Oh yeah, I love how the metal barriers on 2nd road are now used to park bikes behind 😉
  11. Here's the TM30 registration site. It was very simple to do and all I needed was a copy of my passport ID page and condo chanote. Doing the actual TM30 then just required me to enter my details and dates of stay (took 2 minutes) https://tm30.immigration.go.th/tm30/#/external/security/register/reg-web You could instead register yourself as the current "housemaster" and do all TM30 yourself, but I think you would need some kind of lease to upload (plus copy of owner ID/Passport & Chanote)
  12. I never saw your comment so obviously never reported it. Is this the same paranoia that had you report that Thai IO had a problem with your Cambodia Visa even though they didn't say anything about it and let you into Thailand no problem? Your paranoid actions on relocating for assumed tax makes more sense now lol
  13. As per thread title you ask requirements to stay legal. That would be 800k baht in your Thai bank and reporting TM30 and 90 day reports as per your actual residence. If your agent is applying for you with an address you don't live at and then doing 90 day reports for same false address how does that meet your stay legal question?
  14. You're the one posting irrelevant rubbish that an IO looked too long at your other country visa. Deciding you want to live in Thailand but choosing to live somewhere else you dont like as nuch for 186 days a year just to avoid some imagined/unconfirmed tax problem is crazy.
  15. This is just another Thai tax thread sneakily added to the visa forum by stating an IO took too long looking at my other visa, a ridiculous assumption lol I'm still amazed people are making life changing decisions based on a minor tax rule change that nobody understands and no-one knows if it will have any impact at all
  16. They are spread throughout the Soi's and was at Soi Honey exit from day 0, exit of soi Dianna now also included
  17. As an update to OP, I was pleasantly surprised I received 1012 baht interest after 1 month (1190 before tax). This amount was paid into my time deposit account and then instantly transferred to my savings account. I thought I only got interest at the end of fixed term but no, it's paid monthly People worried IO won't accept this type of account should be happy now as statement proves money can be withdrawn (plus it shows a monthly update)
  18. They've now put up no right turn signs on metal barriers to make it impossible to enter Dianna from 2nd road. I imagine they are there to stay
  19. So in summary IO didn't say anything to you about your Cambodia Visa but you think he took a long time to process before letting you into Thailand. How long was a long time to process, 2 minutes, 5 minutes, 20 minutes? Why would Thailand care what visa's you held for other countries?
  20. Why do you not just asvise your mate to join Asean Now and he can read the forum himself? He could then also ask the questions he wants and interact directly with responders instead of you....
  21. You waffled on in a long post about your leather couch with only the last bit about vinyl couch. I'd stopped reading by then... Makes no sense, you say money no problem but you want high quality imitation leather instead of real leather....
  22. Far too many weirdos on this forum, why do you feel the need to have people input on what new couch you buy. We really don't care 😆 Good example of why Thai's have it sussed with a very polite "up to you"
  23. Problem solved with some traffic cones to block entry to soi Dianna from 2nd road. I guess the people who live in the Edge will have to go home via soi bukhao now 😀
  24. That's hilarious. People will be driving down a long one-way street only to then have cars turning into them from 2nd road. What could possibly go wrong...even the Google pic shows the cars on the wrong side of the road for turning lol
  25. No, the edge condo entrance is off 2nd road immediately after soi Dianna. The Edge built a massive wall on soi Dianna to keep people out Edit: oops, I see in post below Edge entrance is in soi Dianna. Well that's messed up as all the cars I saw entering from 2nd were going down the soi
