As I said, Sportsman has cancelled the quiz tomorrow due songkran. They still have this tomorrow though 😀

My screen has a highlighted Search button at bottom of page. I never had to enter any dates, just click it and it showed my 2 attempts (I didn't realise my first one worked as it just dissapeared) When I first registered I think the notes said search highlights all applications in last 7 days (so no dates to define if you extract it straight away)

Since they did away with the TM6 arrival card I've never had to provide my stay address on arrival. You definitely don't need to show Yellow book All you need to do is handover your passport and boarding pass and smile for the camera after finger prints.

I've got to say doing the TM30 online was pretty simple once you played around a little (I did it by trial and error without following instructions in the guide) Register: pretty simple just add the passport details Property: I added my passport ID page and selected owner. I added 2 of the 3 pages of chanote which was accepted (I guessed the condo plan page and the table of info page) Stay: just added my own details again and entered stay allowed by visa. I had to try a few times until I realised I had to click on my Condo as approved property. I reckon it'll take me 2-5 minutes now for all future TM30's, which is great as I have several friends coming over to stay. Much better than the alternative of queuing up at Jomtien 😀

Don't you realise a lot of us avoid those noisy bars like the plague. I'm talking about going to a quiet bar and idiots playing their loud tinny sounding videos

A lot of the guys I see do it in Pattaya are in their 50's or 60's. Them being parented ended before mobile phones lol

I just arrived last night and had horror thoughts about what Jomtien immigration would be like today after re-opening for Songkran holidays so decided to finally register online. I managed to register and get my condo address approved (copy of chanote) and I have a printable extract that has status as "informed' (in green text) with check-in 16 Apr, informed 17 Apr, check-out 14 Jul. What is missing from form is the following which is on the manual application form but I wasn't asked to fill in online? - Type of Visa - Expire date of stay - Point of entry - Relation Anyone know if this data needs to be entered some how? (I don't want to use the excel sheet upload)

Well this thread has gone well off track. I find it funny that once I was through the self check-in kiosk without needing to show visa or onward flight, so many people said I could be asked to show documents and be denied at the boarding gate in Brisbane or in Singapore transit. The boarding process is exactly that, board all passengers within 20-30 minutes. It woud be utter chaos if they started asking for random visa or onward flight info at the gate and you'd need 2 hours gate boarding time (like most departure gates, they simply scan your boarding pass after checking name matches your passport ID page).

The Sportsman on soi 13 has quiz nights every Thursday however I see they've cancelled this week due to Songkran

What's this got to do with Pattaya?

Some people seem to think I mean online check-in (I do that 48 hours before flight on my phone). I'm talking about unmanned check-in kiosks at airport where you scan your passport ID page and it spits out your boarding passes and baggage tags. You then take your baggage to an automated baggage check-in. There are no staff to ask you questions or to check if you have a visa or an onward flight (and no way Singapore Airlines would know that info in their little kiosk)

They already gave my boarding pass in Brisbane for SIN-BKK, so no further check-in required other than go to gate

Then all the better to use earphones and stop annoying other people

Well I had a one-way ticket and no onward flight but kiosk didn't think it was an issue

There were no staff at baggage drop for me. It's all self loaded at SQ

How would SQ know my passport travel history? I scanned my pp ID page only and I could have flown on many airlines. SQ self check-in kiosk simply does not care about visa or onward flight.

I havent sidestepped the system, my point is that the new system does not involve talking to a check-in staff or showing an onward flight. So only way to be picked up is by arrival immigration, which never ask (unless there's some other problem)

I'm wondering if I play "The Sound of Silence" loudly next time they may take a hint? The Disturbed version of course 😀

I just did self check-in with a one-way ticket on Singapore Airlines (Brisbane to Bangkok). I only had to scan my passport ID page and say "no" to carrying dangerous goods and it printed boarding passes and baggage tags. I never spoke to a single staff member and kiosk did not ask if I had a visa or an onward flight. As we are aware the risk of no onward flight lies with the airlines as immigration would rarely ask for it. However if we never have to speak to airline check-in staff, then what's the risk?

Why would it not be? You can renew any passport you have anytime you want

Are there even any bowling alleys around? There used to be one at the Avenue shopping centre but that closed during covid I think

Last trip to Pattaya it started to annoy me that people would play their YouTube videos on high volume in bars. One guy sitting alone played his videos for over 30 minutes and then when his girl arrived he started to play her the same videos on full volume to show how funny they were. What's happened to bar etiquette where you plug your earphones in? Edit: I'm sitting in a bar in Aussie where a guy just started up his youtube, hence this rant, so not just a Pattaya thing....
