I want to be fair. Subscriber numbers are not the same thing as channel quality. There are channels with a lot fewer subs than 15K that are very high quality. For example, one of my favorite channels which I consider an important and unique voice has 16k. It should be more famous. (kgb detected)

As far as where the accident actually occurred, it is not conclusive to say it was near the Rung Ruang Company which is the Jomtien airport bus office. It raises questions actually. If crossing very near there, almost everyone would cross at the light because it's very close. So was he trying to cross at the light? Maybe so. There was talk of a median strip. There is a media strip at the light crossing area too. Or did the press in conventional convenience and/or lost in translation merely mention the nearest intersection which would include a very large area where very few pedestrians would cross at the light? For example, if crossing further up the hill to get to Marcos you could accurately say it was near that intersection as there is none closer, but almost everyone would not walk to the light to cross at that location. So we still don't really know. Why does it matter? Well it might as far as any culpability of the driver (speeding was probably enough to suggest guilt though) and also as Barry Kenyon was such an important local figure, I think the ACTUAL details if ever determined about his tragic accident will be of wide interest to the public.

When they were at their peak I used to have fun sitting on them on baht buses. Typically, I'd board a bus and three of them would be hogging space meant for six. They wouldn't budge. I would say if you're reasonably close to a traffic light, you should cross there. But most parts of that road are not at all close to a light.

I've had problems with Russians. Many problems. I know some Russians are Jews and Israelis but the Russians I've had problems with didn't appear to be either. That said, I don't make it my hobby or career to try to incite hatred of Russian tourists, the way you are doing about Israelis.

I think the initial reporting suggested he was hit while still on the median. Obviously that sounded exceptionally rare, though possible. It's fine that updated details of the case are being reported. I don't like the suggestion that pedestrians should be expected to always go to a traffic light when crossing Tappraya Road. Those that know the area know that is totally unrealistic.
