Not exactly. IF your social security has you living in the US this will match your Medicare record (they need to match) whether you are actually living in the US or not. So yes it is possible to enroll in Advantage while living abroad. However, you can't tell the insurance provider that you live abroad. Then with certain but not all Advantage plans you will be covered for acute emergency events in Thailand as it becomes a kind of travel insurance IF you follow the claim rules carefully. It is not of use for chronic diseases. Is it FRAUD to play such games? Personally I would say yes but it's so incredibly common especially with US expats in Mexico that there are even Mexican clinics specializing in such claims. If you're ever honest with the insurer, it's game over though. They would drop you of course. There are agents that specialize in helping expats pick the right plans for this and of course the choice of specific plans depends on your specific US zip code. To find such agents, search on youtube for expat information related to Mexico and Panama. This scheme is not limited to expats those countries but that is where it's most popular. Agents in Mexico doing this will help expats anywhere. I'm not suggesting this. I wouldn't do it. But people should know their options including dicey ones. Note if your social security shows you living abroad you would NEED to change that back to the US as again SS and Medicare address MUST match for Advantage.

Votes are votes. Expats voting in Pennsylvania have more power than residents voting in Alabama. As far as SS and Medicare are concerned, there is zero doubt that democrats are much better. As far as expat lobbying groups, that exists but yes very weak. Most Americans consider expats as unpatriotic. As far as annoying banking regulations that impact expats, I may be wrong, but I think the democrats are probably worse on that. Also don't assume expats are voting only on narrow expat specific issues. In my case, support for Ukraine over Russia, democracy over autocracy, voting rights, LGBTQ civil rights, reproductive rights, protecting the independence of the DOJ, common sense gun restrictions, affordable housing, keeping most federal workers based on competence and experience rather than loyalty to a president and others are all important concerns.

Insane post. Speaking of insane. RFK Jr.

Very real actually. Binary choice. She is much much better.

Her popularity is very real.

Better than giving it to billionaires mate.

If they vote on only one issue they will vote for Harris as better or not vote. But most people don't vote on only one issue. I think she handled the issue brilliantly in her speech Of course you want her to lose.
-
Wrong!
-
The Magadonians are correct that it's going to get harder for Harris now. Onwards to debates. Stay tuned.
-
You were wrong before. Informed Americans democrats anyway already knew their bench was tremendous.
-
Statistically they will vote for her though. I would take a cum rag over Trump but objectively Harris is so far doing brilliantly and if you deny that you're lying.
-
I agree Michelle gave the best speech but the Harris did everything she needed to do. As far as the it will either be close or a Harris landslide. The chance of a Trump landslide is zero.
-
There is some truth there but it turns out she is performing brilliantly and presents as very presidential, very confident, and a WINNER. It's an irrelevant academic question now who would have been nominated in a normal primary process if Biden hadn't run. I would guess Whitmer but it doesn't matter now.
-
Obviously.
-
Dream on buddy. She's for real.
-
I find your comment moronic. There was zero chance of Michelle running. She had no interest whatsoever As far as an open convention of internal division it would have doomed the democrats whoever they picked. The surprise here is that Harris has stepped into her role brilliantly exceeding all expectations! I do agree either side could win though.

Yes people in his perverted cult of American carnage do. It defies all decency and reason.

Well agreed it's a huge advantage for her. But Biden also had that issue and he was losing. So not ONLY that.

Are you American? Most Americans with basic understanding of the job of VICE presidents understand what the job is: Be a YES man for the president. Always supporting and defending the president in everything NO MATTER WHAT. Mirror the policy positions of the president even if they are not all the same as they feel. For example if Trump had picked Haley to be his VP she would have been required to radically change her position on Russia-Ukraine while she was VP. Be available as a stand in for the president diplomatically, For example attend many events abroad representing the president. Be available to take over as president immediately if the president becomes disabled or dies. What happened with Kamala Harris is NOT a normal job of a VP. This is the first time this has happened in American history where a president has been close to being nominated where he exits from seeking the nomination. Therefore to expect Harris or any other politician to have developed a fully mature policy position campaign of their own divorced from the president INSTANTLY is an inhuman expectation. People should expect what they see Harris doing -- working very hard on both winning AND differentiating herself from her president. We're electing a President Harris who has her own Vice president to mirror HER positions.

Harris was VICE president. Still is but it now running for president. VICE presidents for the most part do not have and should not have separate policy agendas from their president. Do you magadonians begin to get that!?! She was thrust into this at the last minute due to a historically unique situation. So yes she is a separate person with a separate political policy agenda than Biden NOW. If she had BEFORE, that would mean she was a horrible vice president. So it wouldn't be humanly possible for her to have a fully baked policy agenda of her own on such short notice. Given these historically ridiculous time constraints and the reality that above all her job is to WIN against the maga fascists, it's hard to imagine anyone doing a better job than she has done up to this point. Including of course her first major presidential decision -- picking the totally amazing Tim Walz to be her vice president. You want a president who can rapidly adapt to a crisis situation as brilliantly as she has. This is a binary choice. Trump or Harris. For decent Americans, there is only one decent choice and that is Harris.
