He's offensive as usual.

Look, Trump does have the power to devastate Canada. Even possibly weaken it to a failed state where his disgusting goal of hostile annexation could be possible. But why would the USA want to do that to Canada!?! That's evil and insane and Trump is a total psychopath for trying.

Fiddling while stock markets and retirement accounts crash. The U.S. has more power over Canada than Canada has over the U.S. but the price rises to U.S. consumers and industries will be hitting and it will mean job losses and factory shut downs in the U.S. The announcement was yesterday for Chrissakes. Canadians are also upset because Trump has threatened to annex them. Canadian PM doesn't want to annex the U.S. Trump is acting like Putin and the world has noticed.

Gallup poll shows Trump now underwater on approval ratings. It's not hard to understand why. He did a total BAIT AND SWITCH! He denied involvement with the fascist Project 2025 agenda. He lied! His tidal wave of executive orders are filled with pre-prepared Project 2025 items. He said he would lower grocery prices and do it quickly. He lied! Now he's totally backing off from that promise, indeed making the situation much worse with an insane tariff policy. He never mentioned threatening invations of Panama and Greenland even one time during his sleaze ball campaign. He lied by omission! He never mentioned his intention to try to annex Canada. Again, lie by omission! Bait and switch. The American people have been conned once again by the greatest con man grifter who has ever lived.

Hello. I will now ask you to refer to the expat tax thailand webinar where this issue was clearly and directly asked and answered by Khun Pattharaphon Penjham, Senior Legal Officer at the Thailand Revenue Department. I know your opinion but based on this information, unfortunately your opinion is not correct and should best be adjusted based on this new information. As far as the exemption of funds on December 31, 2023: "ONLY CAPITAL FOR BANK ACCOUNTS OR CASH ACCOUNTS" "YOU CAN NOT APPLY THIS FOR INVESTMENTS OR PENSIONS" As noted many times, IRA accounts are classed as accessable pensions by Thailand. This is as settled as this is going to get. Sorted. End of story. There may indeed be a number of grey areas that remain on these Thai taxation matters. This is NOT one of them.

I consider lack of residence security THE major downside of retiring in Thailand on retirement extensions. However, I knew about it before I moved here although I didn't realize how I was going to feel about that years later. That's a huge difference! Knowing the fact vs. knowing how you will eventually FEEL about it. So "bothering" me doesn't really apply but more like resigned to this negative reality. I would recommend that new people look much more closely at other countries that do offer lifetime residence via retirement though before they become heavily invested in living in Thailand. For example, Philippines, Mexico, Uruguay, Colombia, Panama, Portugal, etc. Imagine being 80 years old after living in Thailand for 30 years with no home to go back to and being booted out because the one year extension rules change on you, etc. Grim and brutal.

Which bank? Kasikorn has been very aggressive with this. Are you required to file FBARs and have been doing so? In that case they already know about your accounts in Thailand anyway and I wouldn't worry about that form. I did run into an issue at Kasikorn though. I file my US taxes with my Thai address and they tried to order me to put a U.S. address on the W9 form. The instructions for the W9 form clearly say the address should be your filing address. This actually created a scene in the bank as they called in three extra people to confer on the issue and they weren't budging and neither was I. I prevailed. Now if it had just been an interview asking for a U.S. address without me actually filling in an official signed W9 form I might have given them a US address and that is happening to some people that way. I think as far as the bank is concerned that's the same thing.

Bull. His followers don't want to annex Canada. His followers didn't even want to tariff Canada. Yes Mexico has been demonized but not Canada. Face reality. We're dealing with an unhinged PSYCHOPATH in the most powerful role in the world.

So Trump is explicitly telling the world that he wants to annex Canada. He's made the first aggressive action. Canada retaliates but from a far weaker position. If the USA wanted to invade would it be a five days operation like Putin presumed in Ukraine or could or would Canada actually defend itself.
-
That's bull. He's the current representative of his country and he has already resigned.

Trump is inspired by many dictators.

Trudeau tried to get a call through to Trump for days leading to this action to TALK about what kinds of agreements could be done to prevent this escalation. Trump wouldn't take his calls. He also said explicitly in a presser that he didn't want to talk. He's like a toddler playing with his tariff weapon toy as if tariffs are the only way to conduct foreign relations.

You're confused. Being wrong about an election prediction doesn't make the winner a good president.

He's a tool for Putin. Duh.

Speaking of insane.

I bet you're a Tucker Carlson fanboy.

Those of us who support the fight of Ukrainians for their sovereignty can't be encouraged by Trump's attempt to annex Canada. The Kremlin propagandists are eating it up.

Note that he wants to annex Canada and make it the 51st state. He says so AGAIN explicitly today on his "truth" social thingie. But why doesn't he want to annex Mexico? Hmm? Could it be -- Mexicans! Another crazy thing about this. The insufferable sane washers that keep saying don't believe Trump when he says he wants to do crazy stuff are a big part of the problem.

What Movies or TV shows are you watching (2025)

I'm at the season 2 finale. I wanted to correct calling it a comedy. It's actually a comedy drama or dramady. -
The American consumers pay because the importers pass on costs. So they buy less. Canada loses jobs and suffers economically. So Canada retaliates. Trade war.

Ever heard of having the wolf guard the hen house? -
Absolutely. He's easy to read if you just pay attention. Remember his bizarro world video he showed to the North Korean despot showing developments of casinos and beach resorts there? Another interesting detail. Why does he have a hard on for Panama. Look into his history with a Trump tower there for a clue.
