  1. In your opinion. Hardly everyone's opinion. The fact remains he will enter his second term both an instant LAME DUCK and a convicted felon.
  2. Under an odd quirk of New York state law, a person found guilty of a felony or many felonies as in the case of the president elect, can't technically be an actual CONVICTED felon until sentencing. Many have assumed he had dodge that bullet. He has not. The sentencing is scheduled for January 10. His inauguration is January 20. Ipso facto -- convicted felon president. So he can add that to his honors such as first president ever impeached TWICE.
  3. I like his technical genius. I started hating him when he accused the western expats helping with the Thai cave rescue of being pedos. He's basically insane. Being a technical genius has nothing to do with being qualified to run government or boss around the world. He needs to be stopped before he does irreparable damage.
  4. Jeez Louise. This official could be more diplomatic about all this and realize that it will take years for foreigners to absorb and understand all this especially as the messages we are getting about any details of compliance are so ambiguous and muddled. A bonanza for so called "advisors" if little else.
  5. Musk / Trump's war on Europe. Did the naive strong man seeking suckers that just voted for lower grocery prices which they won't get vote for this TOTAL MADNESS?
  6. But can't you start with an E-sim so never any need to ever have a physical SIM activated in the US and then sent to Thailand?
  7. My current understanding which may of course be wrong is that Thailand has a self declaration system and income like that is not needed to be declared at all. In other words, if all of your remitted income was from Social Security and bank savings before 2024, there would be no need to get a TIN and no need to file. Of course if they see your transfers and audit you need to be prepared at that time to prove you were correct not have a TIN or file.
  8. Does this Musk character have delusions that he's King of the World or something? Or at this point maybe they aren't delusions. Who voted for that?!?
  9. Very interesting. Is it possible to start with that already living in Thailand with no current U.S. mobile plan? First time I've heard of that as an option for keeping a U.S. number, do U.S. logins, and get two factor texts. 20 a month is reasonable for that. If that's an option for many, seems like that is a bigger topic than just Fidelity.
  10. Fascism is never the solution. Did you miss HISTORY class?
  11. Fascists of a feather flock together. Disgusting that these two bozos represent the richest person in the world acting as co-president, and the completely inexperienced VP, a Big Mac beat from being the most powerful person in the world.
  12. How about farts? Should occupants be compelled to wear fart guards?
  13. You're confused. I'm talking about WITHIN the condos That would only happen by an owner telling tenants its forbidden. Not a building wide rule about smoking WITHIN condos.
  14. Trump does have good taste ... in dictators. He's like a flippin' sommelier of ... dictators.
  15. Never trust anyone over 30. Remember that? I really didn’t expect to make it to 30 and with good reason. When I did I said oh <deleted> I'm gonna have to sell out and get a corporate job as I've got expensive tastes.
  16. Ignoring laugh emoji from Pineapple Guy, finding the "perfect" Pad Krapow for you is a very worthy obsession.
  17. I haven't filled out a U.S. tax return myself without a preparer or software for decades so I seriously doubt doing it myself will really be practical for me here either.
  18. Dealing with taxation for expats has always been a rich cash cow segment of the tax market. It's tailored for the wealthy. That's a big part of what has pissed me off about needing to file here when I do. My expectation that lawyers and tax experts will likely cost me more than the tax.
  19. Maybe. IF you are a Thai tax resident. IF the source of the funds is not excluded from Thai taxation under your nation's Double Taxation Agreement (for example U.S. social security which is excluded from Thai tax) Thai deductions applied such as for being over age 65 Possibly double taxation treaty can be used as credits for Thai tax due, if any. Enjoy!
  20. Well Trump can't ignore him because Musk bought him.
