  1. I never said or suggested otherwise. I was referring to a posters 2 x UK Pensions There is a long list of incomes that are not assessable for tax, or liable for tax, in Thailand. I didn't mention any of those to the poster either, he was asking about his 2 x UK pensions, which will be classed as income, assessable for tax, and depending on the posters individual circumstances, may or may not, require the poster to pay some Income tax in Thailand.
  2. Were you born that way, or was it just something you worked hard at all your life ? I was referring to a poster with a UK bank account and 2 x UK pensions going into that bank accout. What would happen when he had reduced the Balance as of the 31 Dec 2023 to zero, and how his 2 x pensions would be classed when he subsequently remitted them to Thailand, which would be income of some description. I wasn't referring to bank loans, Inheritance, lottery winnings or robbing banks, only the posters 2 x UK pensions.
  3. Something specific to you does not apply to the poster with 2 x UK Pensions, who wanted to know about remitting money that was in his UK bank on 31 December 2023. So what you do with your bank loan and inheretence from your grandad, is entirely up to you.
  4. Here is a nice simple flowchart that explains it in simple terms The left hand column explains banks identifying the Tax Residence of their customers. Kbank has already started this process and there is a thread on the forum. The right hand column explains the tax residency of individuals. Which is generally, including Thailand, 180 days or more in a tax year. It should also be noted, that individuals can be tax resident of more than 1 Country, and this should be declared by the individual. If you have any other questions, regarding CRS, Thailand, The Thai Renevue Code or Tax residency. the information is freely available in the public domain and I suggest that you should dig into it yourself, as what I am posting here, is only my opinion on what is written down in the various publications.
  5. You hve read the 324 pages already ? https://www.oecd-ilibrary.org/taxation/standard-for-automatic-exchange-of-financial-account-information-in-tax-matters-second-edition_9789264267992-en Get back to ke when you have went through the whole 324 pages.
  6. The balance on the bank statement dated 31 December 2023 will determine the amount of savings. Once that balance has been remitted to Thailand ( savings used up ) any further money remitted to Thailand are no longer savings, and you are remtting income, of some description.
  7. You couldn't be more wrong, if you think that is what CRS is all about. As stipulated in CRS for tax residency, ie, 180 days or more in a Country and you are a tax resident of that Country. The main thrust of CRS is to reduce, detect and eliminate tax avoidance / evasion throughout the 120 Countries that are signed up to CRS, which not only applies to off shore bank accounts, it applies to any monies that move cross border within those 120 Countries Its only 324 pages https://www.oecd-ilibrary.org/taxation/standard-for-automatic-exchange-of-financial-account-information-in-tax-matters-second-edition_9789264267992-en Knock yourself out.
  8. Doesn't fit in with Or in keeping with the thread title, perhaps Prince William is a far right activist. Cannot have it both ways.
  9. You need to get a bank statement as of 31 December 2023. Whatever that figure is on the 31 December 2023 ( for example £25,000 ) you can bring in that £25,000 anytime free of tax. No need to declare it, but keep good records, and attach remittances to the bank statement. Once that 25,000 has been brought into Thailand, any subsequent money brought into Thailand will be subject to assessment and possible tax, depending on your specific circumstances and how much you remit
  10. So why move it from the account it is currently in ? Does the money really need to be in an offshore account ?
  11. His wife maybe, I dont know, you would need to ask oldcpu, he wrote it
  12. oldcpu, I really do not understand this. If you have no Thai income and you do not remit money from overseas, why would you even try to get a Thai Tax ID ( TIN ) ?
  13. Sorry, you have lost me with that one. Would you mind explaining.
  14. Hmmmmm What does Starmer think of his wife when he is enjoying the company and freebies of Lord Alli, does he consider her no more than property, that lends to the illusion of marital bliss ( It has been noted elsewhere that he appears to have lost his wedding ring ) Some might argue that the Inheritance Tax raid on farmers, is indeed, the start of land redistribution. Only it wont be redistrubuted to the people, it will get redistributed to one of the US's largest farmland owners, who Starmer just happened to meet in Downing St a couple of weeks ago. Goes by the name of Bill Gates.
  15. What do I look like, your PA ? But as this will be our last engagement. The Labour Party Constitution defines the Party as Democratic Socialist Party. In the run to the 2024 GE, Free Gear Kier described him self as Progressive Socialist. Starmer loves spending Lord Alli's money - That makes him a Socialist, or bent as a nine bob note. Take your pick and goodbye.
  16. I don't You should stop wasting your time posting crap.
  17. Well your confidence is shot to bits. He is actually a Pabloist, which is a combination of Socialism / Marxism.
  18. I don't disagree But the obvious question is. Qualified, what does that even mean when referring to Politicians ? The whole thing needs ripped up and started from scratch.
  19. Cannot say that I have seen anyone giving specific tax advise. I have seen people, including me, giving their opinion on information that is freely available to the public. The Thai Revenue Code. CRS DTA's
  20. This quote ? Very 1st paragraph in the article. It is the double standards that are in play And what is Starmer doing ? Is it somehow different when Socialist / Marxist do the same thing ? Yuman Rites Lawyer and double standards go hand in hand.
  21. I have a feeling that many of the pro EU people, are not old enough to remember the Common Market, or the vote to stay in the Common Market in '75
  22. Wrong The main arguments were 1. A Trading block, morphing by stealth into a Political and Monetary Union. 2. The Free movement of workers that morphed into the free movement of people. 3. A one size fits all, never works anywhere. 4. Democracy. 5 Accountability Should have stopped at Common Market, rather than morphing into a Political and Monetary Union.
  23. Yes, I think that was his name. And yes, it was irresponsible to say that all expats need to get TIN's and file tax returns. Which is obviously complete claptrap. Up to you, as they say. All issues relating to CRS are not rumour. The Royal Act relating to the adoption of CRS was published in March 2023. POR 161 / 162 effectively eliminates a loophole that existed previously, including foreigners, and became effective from 01 Jan 2024. The RD Code is quite specific for anyone who is a tax resident ( 180 days or over ) of Thailand. Cannot speak for anyone else, but the 2 bodies that I will go out my way to avoid conflict with, is Immigration and ( Not limited to Thailand ) a Tax Authority.
  24. Starmer says hold my beer. A Yuman Rites Lawyer meeting the ruler of a Country with an absolutely horrendous record on Yuman Rites issues, begging for cash. Is that incompetence ? Or is it the Socialist / Marxist mantra of ' I have principles, but I will change them like a 2 bob hooker changing her knickers ' for money. The above quote, does not come from any Tory supporting publication. It comes from the rapidly falling out of love with labour Guardian. https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2024/dec/07/starmer-to-meet-saudi-crown-prince-in-push-for-infrastructure-cash If you want any further proof of the media turning against Labour, just tune in to the BBC and have a read of the recently penned articles by Laura ' When are you going to resign PM ' Kuenssberg. Starmers days are numbered. The media are turning against him, the Unions are turning against him, most voters don't want him. If he had a smidgen of intelligence he would see the writing on the wall and resign with a sliver of dignity. He hasn't, and his fingernails will dig tracks in the doorframe of No10 as he is forcibly removed, just like Brown, before him.
