Now that this earthquake has hit it appears that many of the Bangkok high rise buildings have been structurally compromised and no longer sound. The superstructure of the buildings has been weakened as evidenced by the many videos showing foundation cracks and structure damage throughout the buildings. As per the usual Thai response to such things, it is more than likely the structures will not be reinforced to original tolerances but the cracks and damage simply smoothed over and hidden. In the event of another earthquake, high wind event or other phenomenon some buildings may not survive and suffer the fate of the Chatuchak Park construction site. Are you still considering a condo purchase after the earthquake and why, now that the structures are compromised. Me? No!!

Some time after the Elon Musk "Heil, heil heil" shirt deliveries I imagine. Probably on the same day the JD Vance "I love Greenland because Trump told me to" shirts. -
Stupid is as stupid does. ~Forest Gump A picture is worth a thousand words. ~Anonymous Actions speak louder than words. ~Bob While probably not a "total loser". He certainly looks to be headed that general direction. Another in the endless parade of sots that's landed in Thailand as a two week millionaire and by the end of a year sleeping on the beach.

Bangkok Grapples with Alarming Air Pollution Levels
StandardIssue replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
We are talking Bangkok. If you do a little research (which it appears you have not) even the air quality within the city itself fluctuates quite a bit depending on location and hour of the day. Burning fields miles away do not contribute as much as the ever present gas and diesel vehicle exhaust being spewed locally 24 hours a day 365 days a year right into the local streets. Take a leisurely walk down Sukumvit during rush hour to experience this quite obvious reality. -

Deal with it how? If they wanted to deal with it they would probably have to do sometime as drastic as prohibiting private cars in Bangkok and only Taxi, bus, tuk tuk, ride service or commercial truck. -

Boycott of US goods spreading worldwide poor donald

Check this out. He was selling a Donald Trump signature model guitar .. NOT made in USA! LOL. This is a short video but there are some long video reviews of this cheapazz Donald Trump guitar. For the slow thinking picker!! I get your point though. I'm not a big fan of Chinese politics or the people there in general because of a lot of the bad apples I see around Thailand. I've met some fine Chinese people who immigrated to the USA and have done well for themselves and contribute a lot to the economy and US based businesses. Quite a few in Silicon Valley where I worked for a number of years. -

Well, that's it then. Nobody was there who knew just how much you think of yourself! Send in your entourage first so they know just who will be arriving! -

If you buy a Ford, many are made in Mexico. If you buy a Honda, some are made in USA. If you buy a Chevy, most of the parts are Chinese! There is no "Buy American" ... That's a catch phrase for the uninformed. it's a Global economy and people who don't understand that virtually nothing is "all made in America" are the ones who got bamboozled into thinking Donald Trump is actually going to look out for the interests of the American people. Even Donald Trumps swag is mostly made in China ... I mean Gyna! His "Make America Great Again" guitar is NOT made in America! Most of it is made in China!! -

Hell, I became an expat and hadn't even left the country 12 years ago. It is a badge of honor I have self imposed.

Yes, it is extremely important to figure out what classifies you as an expat. Not doing so would have certain dire repercussions.
