Like no Nativity at Christmas.I will be careful with this as I don't intend to go too far off topic or offend, my personal thoughts are just that at this point.
The tail can and does wag the dog at times. This morning I read a report that Subway Sandwiches in Britain will remove non-halal meat etc from 180 plus outlets because of objections from local Moslem communities.
Whatever happened to ' when in Rome ' ? I have been in Asia for 37 years and can't say i agree with all I see, hear and have to live with but there are ways of getting on with things.
Read what is going on in UK schools because of Islam.

There are many countries as hot if not hotter then Thailand, Vietnam for instance, here thay build many houses on slab, but as I have also pointed out they have been occupied by Ferang, French Belgian USA etc so have learnt other ways of many things, Thailand has not had this advantage, and I have told them in no uncertain terms, as I am paying WILL be my way, but still the Blank Stare!
I was told this morning that I will not find a builder in Issan who will build for me, but have found one in Buriram, who not only reads plans but has email also! Bonus.
But the Village Boss says I must have his approval and pay him 50,000Bt, is this normal?
I would not build on a slab, unless it is a very deep one. The soil here is more sand than soil. So very soft, expect a lot of movement/ settlement when complete.

Where does Holland buy it's legal weed from?
In Holland, legal weed is bought legally from guys who grow it illegally.
Sounds a bit like a country I know, fits btwn Malaysia and Burma.
Its one of the mistakes, that is why growing should be legal back in The Netherlands too. Some are campaigning for it as its a crazy situation where its legal to sell and own but not to grow. Still its good that its legal to use as its a big step forward and less damaging as alcohol.
Is it legal in Holland? I thought that it was tolerated (decriminalised) only in licensed places?
Just found this link:

Why would Holland import crap Thai weed? Seriously its like importing piss water when you have a lake full of Glenfiddich.
The coffeeshops in Netherlands offer many different cannabis strains. Possibly this seized cache was a supply of Thai Stick:
A Thai stick is a form of cannabis from Thailand that was popular during the late 1960s and 1970s. It consisted of premium buds of seedless marijuana which were skewered on stems. Several rows of fiber found in the stalk of the marijuana plant were then used to tie the marijuana to the stem to keep it in place.[1] Thai stick bud may also be tied around bamboo sticks with a piece of string known as a “rasta hair.”[2]
The Thai sticks exhibited considerably higher potency in comparison with other cannabis available in Western countries at the time. This added potency was rumored to be caused by the Thai sticks being dipped in opium. However, the more widely accepted reason is that Thai cannabis growers had for hundreds of years selected seeds from their strongest plants, which coupled with Thailand's long growing season, high temperatures and, rich volcanic soil, conspired to produce an exceptionally potent product. A number of reasons have been cited for the decline of the Thai stick; stricter policing of cannabis cultivation; dilution of traditional cannabis populations by earlier maturing, less psychoactive cultivars imported from Pakistan and Afghanistan; the burgeoning indoor growing industry in target markets; and the reduction of military troop transports (which was the primary means of export) between Thailand, particularly Bangkok, and the United States, at the end of the Vietnam War in 1975.
In modern terminology, Thai stick often refers to marijuana tied to stem as documented above and then dipped into a hashish oil, a potent cannabis derivative which saturates the buds and lends to a stronger smoke. Some California cannabis clubs sell this product. Originally, this was a frequent practice of the 1970s with the actual Thai stick. There are still some surviving recipes from Cambodia where high quality marijuana and hash oil are used.
Just imagine someone saying I have 5 tons of weed I want making into Thai sticks. I'll be back in the morning to pick it up.
I think that could be the reason for it's decline.
But for sure Thai weed has always been highly regarded as some of the best around.

So your girlfriend was angry because you f.... a bargirl and made some minor damage on the house. You drove drunk and hurt yourself and blame the poor girl.
I think its only fair to be fair to OP.
He did say he was only seeing her for a week or so before she went MIA and ignored him.
He also did not blame the girl, but said he was upset loosing her and this is why he got drunk.
Personally i think the girl was a nut case and even if he was with her but cheated, trashing the house is simply insane

Would help if you told us exactly what you are talking about.
A house in a residential area, or a commercial property.
If for a house, no its unheard of to pay a years rent in advance.
For commercial space does the payment include key money upfront, with a monthly rent being paid?
Maybe you have never heard of it but it's common where there's low rental properties and lots of people looking to rent. Who would you decide on if 2 prospective tenants, both good people, wanted your property and 1 offered a years rent upfront?
If I wanted to rent and was confronted with that scenario, I would walk. But that might just be me. What would you do? Keeping in mind there are thousands of properties out there.

Have heard of it when theres competition from others wanting to rent the same house.
Okay. Thanks. But more than a year would be kinda ridiculous, right?
More than a month or possibly two would be to much for my money.
Don't forget they might hold on to you money when you give notice.
Also I am sure you will find that house rental and commercial space are to totally different things.

I would say the driver of the Jeep is probably at fault. Khao noi, khao talo, nernplubwan, etc all cross the railroad tracks and have a flashing red light which means stop. traveling along the railroad is flashing yellow meaning slow down and proceed with caution. Most people including farangs ignore the flashing red and continue like they are on the motorway.
What a crass remark. Who hit who? From what was reported the Fortuna hit the Jeep.
There seems to be the same mentality in Thailand as in the Middle East i.e. the locals are the best drivers in the world.
Put the blame were it is due and stop making stupid comments
A British National, Mr. Mario Sambucci aged 62 was the only person injured in the crash which saw his Jeep flip over after it was reportedly clipped on the rear by a Toyota Fortuna
I don't know about other countries, but in the UK if you hit someone in the rear, the accident is classed as your fault.
The law states that you should always keep a safe distance between you and the vehicle in front, to allow you to stop safely in an emergency.

Sorry, but i haven't seen too many good driving foreigners in Pattaya either. Saw quite a few big bike accidents caused by foreigners, who never sat on a big bike before.
We were in Pattaya at the weekend. It was eye opening to see how quickly Farangs adapt to the Thai style of riding motorbikes.

May just be cynical , but if fines are only 2k... Can't be
But if the fines were 60-200 k ... The tea money to stay open after hours must also increase proportionally, right??

Why aren't we getting the figures through as usual.
I believe the final figures are going to be well and truly doctored.

I'm truly disappointed in this story. From the headline I was just sure that 2 farangs were racing their rented jetskis and launched them from the sea onto the road - landing on parked motocyes.
Yes me also. Lol

The decision is yours alone.
All you need to do is make sure you have enough money to get yourself out if necessary.
