  1. Only B5000 fine for willfully vandalizing public property? If they wan deterrent, amount better be one digit more.
  2. Lived over 50 years. But didn't make any smarter. What a Loser.
  3. A 54-year-old Canadian tourist has been apprehended and fined after vandalising electrical boxes across Pattaya with spray paint, graffiti. Another OLD AGE BRAT(AKA Quality Tourist TAT sought) made a headline.
  4. Myanmar earthquake: At least 15 people alive under Bangkok skyscraper rubble
  5. https://nilepost.co.ug/ At least 15 still alive under Bangkok skyscraper rubble, rescuers say
  6. It is just like proving one simple thing. There is really no such thing as God in this world. I know this remark will upset some people, but I dare to say. Even though I don't deny positive aspect of religions(e.g. teaching of neighborly love, charity for the less fortunate, mercy toward others). I was brought up at Christian school from year 7-12. And having been charmed by Thai people's Buddhism based kindness, since my settlement here. But at the same time, religion has been often used by the ruler as the handy tool. In order to "tame" and silence own subjects(to prevent their revolt). Regarding the victims at the crumbled construction site, I would like to donate some money if I can find any reliable charity body(collecting support fund for the remaining families of the unfortunate dead). That is something one expat can do to relieve some of their pain suddenly imposed by the force of nature while they were forced to work for the ill-designed skyscrapers for the powerful few.
  7. If they are unaware of what they are doing, to be called Inept. But if they know what they are doing, to be called treacherous/traitors. Cracking ties with the free world economically and militarily; heavy tariff & suggesting NATO pull out. Supporting Russian cease fire agreement condition(encouraging Ukraine to give up Rus occupied area). Cutting funding of VOA(govt of China overjoyed). Groundlessly demanding Greenland to join US territory; even suggesting use of force if opposed. And the president of USA, himself, defying the freedom of speech(guranteed by the 1st amendment of their own constitution); shutting out western scientist(for badmouthing Trump). Can hardly believe this, the world's 2nd oldest democracy doing this in the 21st century. Is that govt more than willing to join the Eastern Bloc, where the freedom is the dirty words? Totally opposite of what US of A traditionally valued, from the time of its foundation. Almost looks like insulting the past Americans who risked/sacrificed their lives for freedom.
  8. The quote best describing their relationship, LOL. Apart from 2 of them, Russia(incl.Soviet Era), I have heard that Russia is secretly regarded gay nation, in 80s. As a matter of fact, since Soviet Era, their rulers are always with very masculine faces. Never known any head of their state with the "neutral" appearance.
  9. Little had I expected the World's Oldest Democracy ceases to exist during my lifetime.
  10. Viewers of this forum, of various nationalities. So US commonsense isn’t automatically everyone's knowledge.
  11. Rhode Island. Area: 1545 square Km. the smallest us state - Google Search
  12. Just up to Who replies, and what is posted. Some are polite, humorous(entertaining), or informative(willing to share useful/insightful experience/knowledge). Some are rude and nasty(senselessly swears/insults others from the beginning of conversation). When I meet someone who makes any forms of positive input, I feel the whole chat very fruitful and enjoyable.
  13. Hi, this is my first visit to this thread. Are there quite a few foreign expats(retirees) who stay on the Philippines on tourist visa(extension)? No unfriendly questions on back to back re-entry? I have lived in Thailand for years quite happily. But always with some plan B, just in case. So your reply post will be appreciated.
  14. Hi, I wonder if you are actually a retiree expat living in Cambodia? Though I have lived in Thailand for 2 decades, I always have some plan B just in case. I am glad to know that the information you listed still the same as I have learned years ago.
  15. Hi, several years ago, I have studied Cambodia's retirement visa(as the plan B, after Thailand). Even though I am quite happy with my life in Thailand. But just in case(Thai bureaucrats might attempt to kick out 1st world expats other than superrich in the future). What I have learned about Cambodia's retirement visa back then: If over 55, no financial documents needed; only need to prove own age(with passport). These papers are needed only when the applicants are under that age. This is from the reliable source(travel agent that outfits visa status change application in Cambodia. From Ordinary Visa to Retirement in Cambodia. In Cambodia, the govt encourages foreigners to rely on travel agents for that service). Is this information still valid?
  16. Thank you for your speedy reply. Good to hear you are OK. Higher temperature and humidity. Often serves natural cure for the respiratory conditions. Have another happy day, from Chiang Mai.
  17. Thank you for sharing your experience. Are you in good health now(I hope)?
  18. One great thing about here in this kingdom: Even the low end food is tasty and filling. Good example: Mooping and Kao Nyao(Thai BBQ pork and steamed sticky rice). Looks like 2 of the nations have in common.
  19. Unfortunately, I could never take any photos of them. They are often far away from my position(over 50m away on the wire). Or run away so fast when they notice I am nearby(outside my window). Thanks for sharing the image you captured. When I have some luck, I will, too.
  20. Only in the highland of CNX? While I spot them each day near my apartment(in the old city area). And lot of trees around here. Maybe different story in the area without it.
  21. If you are budget-minded expat, advisable to go to public university hospital in case of sickness. Their doctors always speak good English(many of them studied in US sometime after they were qualified here). And their ER's triage is fast and accurate. When I fell Vestibular neuritis a few years ago, I went to pubic medical center located near Chiang Mai old city area. And their treatment only costed me B600 or so. B600-, around U$20.
  22. I still enjoy all of what you mentioned. Regarding car prices here. it has always been high(compared other things Thais daily use). As Thai govt imposes nearly 200% of import duty.
  23. My breakfast today. Bread porridge. Ingredients: White bread, chicken mince, garlic shoots, onion, pumpkin, potato, and deep fried bean curds(from local market), milk, and water. Pumpkin are under water and cannot be seen this time. Seasonings: Chicken and bonito stocks, grated ginger, soy, oyster, and fish sauce.
  24. You mean this? I have never seen this kind of creature myself though. What I often see this is this.
  25. Unsure about other areas. But in Chiang Mai, I very often see squirrels running around wires and treetops while in town. Even near my windows. Once, I even encountered them in less than 5 feet from my room while at home. They came to feed on some palm tree(in the yard of adjoining tourist hotel) fruit for breakfast. To my regret, they quickly dashed away when I readied my camera for some photos.
