  1. I do not know how these things work here in Thailand. But to me, if the car is not that old, there must be a non-OEM part. Maybe the Suzuki shop won't or can not use non-OEM parts and just say there isn't one.
  2. I was saying, is any car truly Japanese, American, etc. anymore? Replying to his is Honda Canadian question.
  3. Google AI A new Ford contains a significant percentage of parts from other countries, with recent data showing models like the F-150 having around 30-50% U.S./Canada content, meaning 50-70% comes from elsewhere, including Mexico, China, and Europe, highlighting the global supply chain with parts like electronic components from China, engines from Mexico, and transmissions from North America. No car sold in the U.S. is 100% American-made, with foreign parts making up a large chunk of even Detroit's vehicles, even while many American brands have high domestic assembly.
  4. I know 2 people in their 90s. One has a mind as sharp as a tack, but has been bedridden for at least 5 years. The other is so damn healthy that I have invited him to my funeral (I'm 79), but his mind is going. Both are very happy to be alive. Does anyone remember the guy who climbed the tower a couple of years ago here in Thailand? They tried to talk him down, but he stood up and did a beautiful swan dive. I think he enjoyed the fall. It reminded me of the Zen story where this guy is on a cliff, hanging by a rope that is about to break, and there is a hungry tiger waiting at the bottom. He sees a wild strawberry growing on the cliff and picks it.
  5. "A rose by any other name is still a rose."
  6. The problem I have is with the length of time and the "greatest". The "greatest" was a 15-second out-of-body experience I had after reading one of Jiddu Krishnamurti's books. The other was when I almost drowned after getting caught in an undertow in Mexico, that having 4 meter waves slam me into the ground, just to pull me back and do the same thing a few more times before tossing me onto the beach. If it had lasted 3 minutes, I would had an out-of-body experience of a different kind.
  7. That got me curious. So I added my income from the SS statement and added up what I have received in my 14 years on SS. Now you have to take into account that my first jobs were only paying $1.25 hr back in the early 60s. As of now, I have made 29% of my TOTAL earnings from SS. That would mean I have received around 4 times in dollar value what I paid in. Of course gas was only .24 a gallon back then..To get a proper figure, you would have to figure out how that $1.24 compared to today's dollar value.
  8. better than the aluminum ones, I often see them using.
  9. Google AI Undocumented immigrants (sometimes referred to as "illegal" in common parlance) paid an estimated $26.2 billion into the Social Security Trust Fund in 2023 and $25.7 billion in 2022. These workers are generally ineligible to collect the benefits they pay into. Key Details Contribution Amounts: In 2022, undocumented immigrants paid nearly $26 billion in Social Security taxes and $6.4 billion in Medicare taxes. The estimated amount for 2023 was $26.2 billion into Social Security. Mechanism of Payment: Undocumented immigrants pay these taxes through payroll deductions, often using a borrowed or fraudulent Social Security number, or by using an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) to file tax returns. Ineligibility for Benefits: The vast majority of undocumented immigrants are barred from receiving Social Security benefits or other federal public assistance programs because of their immigration status. Positive Fiscal Effect: The Social Security Administration's actuaries have consistently found that the contributions from unauthorized workers have a net positive effect on the financial status and solvency of the Social Security program, as more money is paid in than claimed in benefits. Overall Tax Contributions: In total, undocumented immigrants paid an estimated $96.7 billion in federal, state, and local taxes in 2022.
  10. First off, they still have shops at our schools. I gave my old truck to the school. They rebuilt it and sold it. The other thing is as a kid in the early 60s, I had to work the fields to pick strawberries, green beans, and dig tulip bulbs. In the fields next to us were the Mexican families (wetbacks as they were called back then). They were the better workers as we were kids after all, and prone to strawberry fights. There were never adult white people, even back then, who wanted to do that kind of work. Have you ever had calluses on your hands?
  11. I spent the last 20 years of my life running a construction company, and my best friend in the States owns several apartment buildings and single-family rentals. So "yes," I do have a clue!
  12. Yeah, That increase taking .0035 of his million must have really hurt.
  13. It seems the video doesn't work??? Reposted by Moderation
  14. He also pulled his gun before she started moving forward. She backed up to make the turn. He pulled his gun while she was stationary, changing gears.
  15. Until the US gets it's hands on it. https://www.energy.gov/articles/fact-sheet-president-trump-restoring-prosperity-safety-and-security-united-states-and The United States government has begun marketing Venezuelan crude oil in the global marketplace for the benefit of the United States, Venezuela, and our allies. We have engaged the world’s leading commodity marketers and key banks to execute and provide financial support for these crude oil and crude products sales. All proceeds from the sale of Venezuelan crude oil and oil products will first settle in U.S. controlled accounts at globally recognized banks to guarantee the legitimacy and integrity of the ultimate distribution of proceeds. These funds will be disbursed for the benefit of the American people and the Venezuelan people at the discretion of the U.S. government. These oil sales begin immediately with the anticipated sale of approximately 30 – 50 million barrels. They will continue indefinitely.
  16. Not forgetting but. A nation has a right to nationalize. The US oil companies left on their own accord, not liking the terms to remain (except Chevron), and then sued and won compensation. But the US is not a oil company's police force. And the US does not own the oil. Google AI the U.S. cannot legally claim ownership of Venezuelan oil under international law; the principle of Permanent Sovereignty over Natural Resources (PSNR), recognized by the UN, grants sovereign nations exclusive rights to their resources, meaning Venezuela owns its oil, and any unilateral seizure or claim by the U.S. would violate international law and sovereignty. While past U.S. companies were expropriated, they received compensation, and current claims of "stolen" oil lack legal basis, with attempts to seize it being viewed as unlawful aggression, not a valid legal action. Key International Law Principles: Permanent Sovereignty over Natural Resources (PSNR): Established after decolonization, this principle gives states the inherent right to control, use, and dispose of their natural resources for their own development, solidifying Venezuela's ownership. Sovereignty & Non-Interference: International law prohibits foreign interference in a state's internal affairs, including control over its resources, making U.S. claims legally untenable. Why U.S. Claims are Invalid: Historical Context: U.S. oil companies operated in Venezuela, but their assets were nationalized in 1976, a process the U.S. generally accepted as long as fair compensation was paid, which occurred. No Legal Basis for Seizure: Experts state that claims of oil "stolen" from the U.S. are baseless, and forcibly taking resources or seizing tankers is considered aggression, violating the UN Charter. International Condemnation: Actions asserting control over Venezuela's oil are seen by many, including foreign ministries, as bullying and serious violations of international law and Venezuelan sovereignty. In essence, international law strongly supports Venezuela's ownership of its oil, invalidating any U.S. legal claim to ownership or direct control, despite political rhetoric.
  17. It is bad enough that this happened. But to know that people at the top who have watched the same video care less about the death than about their "agenda", to still lie about what we all can see is the truth is discussing.
  18. We only j need to win the midterms.
  19. That would be worrying!
  20. I think your math is off. 1113/12=92.75/60=1.54 min. Now, I, for one, standing in line with a bunch of nude men, would have a difficult time performing at my allotted time.
  21. I've been considering that. Now, I give a one-line statement about how I lean on the current issue, then say, "It's best we talk about something else."
  22. Are you sure he didn't say "steal" instead of turnover?
  23. Yelps, if Trump annexed Greenland. ICE would have to round up all those foreigners.
