  1. Everybody knows a modified car depreciates more than a standard car, right?

A car thats low and needs to go over speed humps on an angle is not everybody's cup of tea.

How many times have you scraped the front? be honest.

Have not scraped the front once, it is not that low and can go over virtually all speed bumps, I have seen many cars so low it is silly, you have to think when you lower a car now days!!

Most of the vip cars(modified) have air suspension which is needed because they are on the floor..

    Hydraulic pump up dampers/bags.

But in your case 10 minute job to remove girly stickers. :)

  2. I wouldn't worry, M1 5w50 is one of the best mass produced synthetics, as aussiebebe said, a bit thicker at high temps, nothing to worry about in a standard engine, but Mobil also sells the Mobil 1 in 5w30 (since they make it for toyota anyway)

    hak

Thanks, but I wasn't worried if the engine blows up I would buy another one.

It wouldn't surprise me to learn that Mobil make oil for Toyota but is it the same spec I wonder.

This supplying sort of thing reminds me of Volvo, buying an oil filter from them saying why is this so expensive when it is as exactly the same as the ' forget the name but something like Como oil filter ' they said yes but they make it to our specifications not the standard one they sell.:annoyed:

Forever sceptic but trusting, when I got to cut both in half, they were right they were not the same.

    Regards K

Ah-ha, Volvo, can you get better, hmmm no, but perhaps things different now with all the take over shit, but in the past the mark was the definitive auto. :)

  3. If the bike looked just like my car sticker wise of course, I would have gladly paid him double ha ha rolleyes.gif

When I used to repair and rebuild motorbikes they were referred as ' Decals ' which I found it was always best ordering from the bike manufacturer's, I never found anywhere that did cheaper but more importantly the same quality as OEM.

I have found stickers here  that have been any good to have the Kodak name on them.

I put a TRD sticker on the rear hatch of the Mrs Yaris, it goes much faster now.

Blimey, learn something every day.:lol:

  4. Don't really understand the question, you mean is it necessary? a good idea? problems? The oil viscosity recommendations in your owner's manual state which weight oil to use and that you could harm your engine if you use a different weight oil. 5W-50 is thicker at higher temps which may not be a bad idea if you're running a classic car from the 60's in Thailand, but with the super tight tolerances of Yaris engine (which remember has famously never had a warranty claim made against it), you need to stick with the recommendations so the oil will flow and penetrate between the tolerances. 5W - 30 is fine even in 110 + degree heat.

What I've seen recently is this 5W-50 marketed towards CNG and LPG users, presumably as the gas has higher operating temperature.

Yes !! to all of what you said thanks, I guess I was a bit vague with the question.

There has been heated discussions on the 'motorbike forum' about ' Mobil 1 ' saying it has extra ingredients than all other oils and even the oils they make for other manufactures and the best oil in the world etc etc !!! that's what made me think well it's got to be OK.

I like the Magnatec idea too but I am no rocket scientist just an old do yourself spanner.

The other thing is it does get bloody hot here in summer so I thought it would be even better than standard to use.

    Regards K

    You are correct.

Although on start up the thick stuff takes a bit longer to get to the far off places when cold, the clinging/structure qualities of synthetic protects until pressure is delivered. :) But here the engine block is never cold .

  5. I've got to be honest I don't really accept the argument that diesel engines are only associated with trucks. Mercedes Benz and BMW have no problem selling their diesel engined cars in Thailand. I think the real reason the Japanese manufacturers don't offer diesels here is that they have no financial reason to do so. They are doing perfectly well selling cars with a very limited (sometimes only one e.g Honda City) range of engine choices with limited safety features. If one of the big players (Honda or Toyota) offers diesels then the rest of the market will follow. Until then we will all have to wait or buy a Ford or a Chevrolet.

    Good points. :)

  6. Mr Swede will enlighten us all with his knowledge, which are modified cars and which are not?

I can tell you that Mr.Swede has fooled around with rides that would scare the pants off you in the passenger seat.:D

Well I hope they diden't have any stickers on them would hate to think of him in a car with bits stuck on it!!

Was looking forward to being educated as to what a Modified car actually is, but it seems we will all have to wonder!!

Look at my avatar, thats a modified car/engine, all my own handy work. :)

  7. Sorry do not understand your reply, is it relevant?
