  1. See my comments on Pattaya police work.
  2. Are you saying RTP are doing a half-decent job? Every police success starts with the proviso 'acting on information received'. There's a weekly story about crimes that have been reported but no progress made or any evident police activity. It's often only the threat of mass media that stirs the police into action.
  3. Have you heard the expression 'an accident waiting to happen'? There's hundreds of vehicles with bald tires waiting for rain; thousands of helmetless, red-light runners; a million drunks staggering about looking for their cars. Almost weekly, there are bus crashes often loaded with children because maintenance checks are never enforced.
  4. The odds are heavily in favour of the mouse, if the cat is RTP.
  5. Pattaya seems defined by Walking Street. Any public initiative starts (and ends) with a photo of police on this iconic location.
  6. The ONLY way local Plod is successful is with outside help. The only time CCTV is used (on the roads) is after a tragedy.
  7. We did, repeatedly, with the same result one expects of the local constabulary.
  8. Agreed I was suicidal about my forehand yesterday as the ball repeated hit my thumb. Reading your impressively detailed post makes me think there's a lot I still need to learn at 82!
  9. It's not just condos. There was a mooban party house on my former estate with weekend revellers disturbing the peace until early morning.
  10. 'sorry to hear all your issues, but your 82yrs of age, you can get in house hospice care to assist you daily. There are companies that provide 24/7 care for you, let me know if you want some contacts.' I was responding to the above post. Nowhere did I write that I was infirm or ill. The poster has contacts for 'hospice care'. He was helping himself not me, possibly on a commission basis. I was not being unpleasant but boastful of being able to run 500 metres in under 3.5 minutes. I always thank any poster who offers constructive advice.
  11. 12 posts down on page 1.
  12. It is on my mind; my Visa requires 800K be in an account for some months before renewal in early May.
  13. Very true. But a succession of poor experiences is making me look fondly at Spain.
  14. Pongori from Decathlon.
  15. Sounds true to me: lack of police interest; Douglas reported the incident to Pattaya police but faced a disappointing response, with officials expressing scepticism about taking significant action. Investigations did uncover CCTV footage showing Douglas being escorted on a motorbike after the assault. However, claims by one of the women about visiting a nearby 7-Eleven were unverified, as the store agreed to share footage only with authorities. The victim's attempts to gather evidence, including consulting a lawyer and approaching police for further help, were met with challenges. Staff at the bar, seemingly reluctant to cooperate, echoed concerns over the incident reflecting badly on the establishment. What would he have to gain with a false story; why would he hire a lawyer if the story wasn't true?
  16. See my experience of K bank above.
  17. Is this a joke? I challenge you to accompany me to a gym & complete my four times a week regime or play table tennis against me (tho' I do not have a vacant day as I play 3 times a week against opponents 17 years my junior.)
  18. Not the Sri Monkol bus I suffered on for 9 hours; the rear of the vehicle is intact.
  19. What's Kan got, that can make police get off their bottoms?
  20. Been there; extorted; falsely charged. A den of iniquity.
  21. It's near the end of the month so now the employer doesn't have to pay their wages. He merely hires a new batch then informs the police towards the end of April.
