  1. A Somali arrives in London as a new immigrant to England. He stops the first person he sees walking down the street says,

"Thank you Mr. Englishman for letting me in this country, giving me free housing, free food stamps, free medical care, free education and all wonderful social monetary benefits!"

The passer-by says, "You are mistaken, I am Polish."

The man goes on and encounters another passer-by. "Thank you for having such beautiful country here in England !"

The person says, "I not English, I am from Croatia ."

The new arrival walks further, and the next person he sees he stops, shakes his hand and says, "Thank you for the wonderful England!"

That person puts up his hand and says, "I am from Iran, I am not English!"

He finally sees a nice lady and asks, "Are you an English?"

She says, "No, I am from Iraq !"

Puzzled, he asks her, "Where are all the English people?"

The Iraq lady checks her watch and says.... "Probably at work."

  3. if you have ever watched Trainspotting, there is scene in the film where they are in the pub ' the worlds worst Toilet '

Now from watching that scene, to viewing most of the public toilets in Thailand, i think the award should be transfered here.

But i am not sure how they can introduce the flush toilets nationwide here, as alot of Thais have no idea how to use!

Even when my girlfrinds mum built a new house, they still put the old hole in the ground toilet, and not a modern flush version, as this was what they are used to...

  5. Leading think tank sees need to restructure Thai economy and society

BANGKOK: -- The National Economic and Social Development Board (NESDB) sees a need to accelerate restructuring of the Thai economy and society in preparation for the changing global economy.

NESDB Secretary-General Amphon Kitti-amphon said Thursday that the board will hold its annual seminar in June on the topic of "How Thailand Can Enjoy Sustainable Development in the Age of Globalisation.".

Officials concerned had been instructed to intensify their study of the details of the economic and social restructuring in preparation for the changing global situation.

He said he had met with Mutzashiro Kuroda, chairman of Japan's Institute on Economic and Social

Research, seeking suggestions and an exchange of views as part of the preparation on a way to prepare the economic and social development plan.

Mr. Amphon said that in common with Mr. Mutzashiro he shared the belief that the Thailand's economy

and society needed to be restructured since the global situation had changed dramatically.

In particular, innovation in the world's money and capital markets is now more sophisticated and complicated.

He said the NESDB viewed what Thailand needs to do urgently is to prepare a long-term plan on energy affair.

At present, an inflation rate in Japan is flat and expected to stay at 1 per cent throughout this year while the inflation rate in Thailand is 4 per cent and that of the United States is 3 per cent.

He said Japan has been well prepared for rising inflation in the energy sector for some 20 years ago by

shifting investment to rely more on nuclear power and natural gas instead of oil.

Additionally, Thailand's social structure needs to be changed, Mr. Amphon said. Currently, Japan allocates

40 per cent of its budget to look after the elderly.

Thailand is also becoming a society of the elderly, so it must pay attention to caring for the elderly.

It took a leading think tank to come to this conclusion :o:D

Why not just ask 99.9 % of foreign expats here, they will be able to give a good anwser to what needs to be changed to bring Thailand into the 21st century :D

  6. I have just been browsing unity auto groups website and came across a rather nice looking Maserati

Now if you click onto the link and take a close look at the picture, it is actually taken at a dealer garage in England, even show the price tag of 79,950 Pounds..... - Link - http://www.unityautogroup.com/car.asp?id=167

Now there are two questions to this

    1) they are stating this is a brand new car with delevery mileage, yet it is in a second hand car lot in England.. are they importing second hand cars and clocking them to be brand new? ( not at all unheard of! ) :D

    2) What king of import tax and transporataton must they being paying? what would the price of the car be in the showroom in Thailand?

    Any answers?

    tx

    That's a Maserati Quattroporto :o

Yes, it could very well be a brand new car even if it is in a second hand car dealers'; friends of mine do the same and import those cars from........................Dubai and other UAE countries.

It seems that they can sell these cars way below normal importers' prices.

About importing to Thailand...sorry I'm not experienced in that kind of field.

    Laopo

Thank you for your reply Laopo

That makes sence apart from the following

all cars from the UAE and Dubai are left hand drive.... ( i was in dubai the other week and cried at how cheap the cars where )

Thus this must be a Euro model being displayed....

Also why would a garage import from the UAE to Uk then to Thailand?

  8. A couple of years ago we had the same problem at the bottom of Nanai 2 in Patong. Tessiban asked us for photographic evidence, which I supplied, but still no action was taken. waste of my time...

Well it just go's to show what you can do with a photo editor these days.

A forensic officer can easily tell the difference between a real photo and a fake

On another note, a picture is LEGAL evidence in a court of law!!!

I think this was another case of the police just cannot be arsed............ :o:D
