  1. I've heard this 'all about control' argument from plenty of people over the last few years. These people tend to be pennyless, often have almost no control over their own lives, no money, little income, can just about scrape enough together to get by and are barely surviving in tiny one room studios, essentially they're sitting there waiting to die. What exactly is it supposed to be that the glorious and all powerful governments of the world want to control about such people?
  2. You're only guilty if there's proof, otherwise it's just 'hearsay' which doesn't count.
  3. Rest assured, commercial banks do create money, the physical cash created by the central bank is but a small fraction of all money.
  4. Both systems will run alongside each other for another 100 years and Thai people will still be keeping their savings in gold bars forever.
  5. Sounds like someone's looking for an early check out I knew someone who was in a similar situation once but I'm not sure exactly how he did it as I hadn't seen him for a few years.
  6. Every day now, they're going after the Chinese. Nothing happens without a reason.
  7. Do they require that the letter is issued within a certain number of days? I did mine last year and can't remember but this is often the case.....
  8. There's absolutely no way at all that this package was flagged for inspection by every government agency available because it was 'too heavy' at just a few kilos in weight. They lie about how they operate.
  9. I guess that meeting with 'Lord Xi' didn't go as planned recently so they're launching a major crackdown on Chinese illegal activity ???? Doesn't reflect well on China.
  10. I have previously read that this is a 'far right wing' conspiracy theory almost everywhere in the world and people were being banned by the various platforms, like Twitter, Facebook, etc for even mentioning it. What changed?
  11. The matches are on the local cable company here in Hua Hin. Then again I've seen them play torrents on some of the channels with the filename in the corner, sometimes movies that are still on in the movie theaters.
  12. Doesn't matter, plenty of people from the cold places are coming and they will bring this little something extra with them from every corner of the world.
  13. I wonder what the capacity to treat these more serious cases is these days?
  14. Yep, I think the reality is that there won't be any Chinese tourists for years.
  15. This article is a worthy read : https://skeptoid.com/episodes/4555 It contains a lot about Thorium 'molten salt' reactors and how safe they are, how the reaction needs to be kept going instead of continuing on its own by default - hence no possibility of meltdown. Also the waste product is not dangerous for 1000s of years, it actually has industrial uses.
  16. I had a cold in 2020, apart from that, nothing, but I have been taking evasive measures thoughout the entire time. Quite successfully I might add, almost everyone I know has had covid either once or twice, mostly in the last 18 months. The medical community seems to have assigned less importance to what they term 'fomite' transmission which is how it might spread through touch instead of breathing it in. In fact some of them have come out and said it's negligible, as in it's technically possible.
  17. He shook Trudeaus hand right after berating him for leaking all the details of their previous meeting to the press. Here's the video : So enen though Trudeau 'did the dirty' he still shook his hand.
  18. This won't happen until new safer reactors with a different type of fuel are used. We're talking decades from now and reactors that are nothing like those in use today. There won't be any fuel that requires 10,000 years of storage involved either.
  19. Yes, every now and again you need to put the foot down and demand something is done 100% correctly. In general I don't care if people do things wrong, so long as it's going to end up coming back on them. I've been surrounded by plenty of idiots my entire life, you get used to it after a while so unless it affects me directly I simply don't care about the obvious consequences of their follies - maybe they will learn in the end but I doubt it.
  20. Yes, I saw that Xi was speaking to Trudeau via a translator and giving a right 'talking to' for leaking the details of their previous meeting, but he shook his hand after the meeting. This is a snub. Likely because Xi is scared like a child of COVID and of course Prayuth was recently in touch with Hun Sen so the risk would be elevated but I prefer to think it's a snub all the same ????
  21. You're getting an extension of stay. I did one here in Hua Hin a week or two ago on my Elite visa. It's just a 1 year stamp. I last did a TM30 a few years ago and it's good forever or until you move house.
  22. The damage doesn't look that bad really, it's mostly the 'crumple zone' of the car by the looks of the photos. It's called the crumple zone because it's supposed to do exactly what we can see in the photo
