Elite Visa and 90 day reporting on Samui
ukrules replied to diceman's topic in Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, Koh Tao
Yes, if you don't leave the country you need to go to immigration and do a 1 year extension. If you don't do this then the overstay days begin accumulation from the day your current yearly stamp expires. So once a year you go and do an extension and get another year, every 5 years you go to Bangkok and get a new visa inserted as the old one expires. All of the visas last for only 5 years no matter the membership duration. -
divorced but staying on marriage visa
ukrules replied to stoicccc's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I do have a Thailand Elite visa, got the last one in 2019 so it's still active but the application form I have saved on my computer may be a little out of date considering it's 3.5 years old. On the version of the application form I have it asks how many times you've overstayed in the last 3 years. Then from here : https://www.thailandelite.com/faq/ There's this : So they may approve it but you need to leave and then return to get the visa inserted at the airport by the sound of it. If you're banned from returning then you're not going to be able to do that. I would suggest leaving immediately if on overstay and applying abroad just in case. I also suspect immigration turned up at the house to make an arrest. A little note aside, immigration were sniffing around my street last week (2 of them arrived in a pickup) they were looking for some Swedish dude who as far as I'm aware has never lived in this area, they had a photo and showed it to the woman I live with, they seemed to think this guy lived in the house next door which is odd as there's been nobody his age from Sweden living there in like 10 years - so this guy might be on a major overstay and they're out hunting them. I personally want as little to do with them as possible so I didn't go outside and had nothing to do with them at all. -
If you leave it there you will see a bright white skeleton laid out where the lizard currently lies once the ants take away everything except the bones - they work fast. It will likely be a shiny white pure skeleton by tomorrow. I saw one in the garden here myself. Ants definitely didn't kill it - birds or cat.

divorced but staying on marriage visa

They know about the divorce don't they? -
Sure, but they sell a huge amount of over the counter policies in the UK which are almost worthless - this is the problem. The idiots going on holiday will buy the cheapest policy possible and think they're all good - they don't know any better.

This is a forum where people make posts and sometimes others reply to them. Would you have replies turned off or just replies you don't like turned off?

I wonder if they issued an arrest warrant? That would seem to be the next logical step if someone makes a police complaint against you that results in a bank being convinced to remove money from your account. I suggest you gather all the proof you have of the transaction completing and keep it handy just in case they come knocking. Might be a good idea to put in a complaint against the woman involved as well, you're going to need a Thai speaker for that of course. I would never deal direct with anyone here for the exact reasons you're experiencing. Good luck, you're gonna need it.

Don't believe any article which uses this term. They would have you believe a 'pimp' is a human trafficker.

Assume the worst, I guess you just need the proof at this stage

I drink Nestle for drinking water but when I boil water in a kettle when making coffee, etc I use Singha as it leaves much less residue. I believe the nestle has a much higher mineral content than Singha which causes this residue build up.

Government Approves CAAT Plan to Tackle Soaring Ticket Prices
ukrules replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
You would think so but I guess that depends on how much the airports and government are demanding in payments and commitments from the airlines to use the airports. -
New rules for opening a bank account
ukrules replied to Dirk Z's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
Correct, there are many reasons why someone on a visa exemption or tourist visa might require a bank account. The number one being that they arrive on a tourist visa with plan on retiring in the country - which requires deposits that sit there for some random and arbitrary amount of time. -

Why should it do anything? It's an Asian problem which they choose to ignore. -
5 Thai beaches appear on list of top 100 beaches in the world
ukrules replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
You make a good point, this award is about as pointless as awarding the best volcanoes or mountains in the world. They exist naturally despite the people who live near them. -
This is an interesting development, I did my TE 1 year extension in November (I think) and there was no photo. I hear the Elite visa is popular with the Chinese, there's been a lot of talk about them abusing visas - I have to wonder if this is why the photo requirement has now appeared and why they're doing it. I wonder if it's to combat passport sharing among overstayers.

A twist in the case of the kidnapped and murdered Chinese student
ukrules replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I'm tending to not believe a single word the murder gang say, there's a shiny bullet waiting for each of them in China anyway. They will have their day in the sports stadium one day soon. -
No, I don't sell in Thailand at all and when I buy it's from an exchange.

Australian Resort Boss Murdered While at Work in Krabi
ukrules replied to webfact's topic in Krabi News
No, but it does appear to be a lie. The woman owed money and wanted to borrow more according to another poster who got a Thai translation of the article. So he was murdered for not lending more money, perhaps just a few thousand Baht to someone who doesn't repay their debts. Every word they said was a lie, I have previously found that when someone lands in a 'bit of a pickle', like when they've been caught murdering someone they have a tendency to lie. Clearer for you now?
