  1. Battery spot welding doesn’t need a workshop, you can do it with a power bank and a very small area, less than 10cm x 10cm is sufficient unless you have a large number of cells, that doesn’t need to be protected from heat, so while your Amorn may not offer the service it’s a choice not a space problem.
  2. This being Thailand, if you know were to go and who to ask and can speak Thai you can get it done for 200 Baht or so.
  3. No problem, I have taught basic phone security and usage and the android users found it more challenging. I was surprised at how little any of them really understood the basic principles. The few who had a more advanced knowledge were all apple users though none were really advanced, and these were university students in the top universities in the country. The apps I highlighted were not a comprehensive list there are more, Numbers (excel is the Microsoft program) was easily able to do all my student data collection for attendance and grading, however there were a very few things I found easy to do in excel that were almost impossible in Numbers and I was given a teaching license for excel so I used it quite often. Personally you couldn’t give me a top of the line Android phone with an equal value in cash and make me abandon the iOS ecosystem. Could I survive with Android? of course, would I enjoy it? Absolutely not Ask the same question in reverse to a died in the wool Android user and you will probably get the same answer. which OS is better? They both do a good job, Android enables more customisation (that few use), is less secure and the phones have a shorter support window. Apple has infinitely better software integration, is more secure has about double the support of android but you can’t get cheap phones, if you ignore ROI. Older apple phones command a higher price than an equivalent spec Android ones.
  4. There you have the difference between someone like myself and the vast majority of iPhone users. The vast majority have virtually every application they need all fantastic quality provided free. the few thing they don’t have, banking, line, WhatsApp are all easily available. the included highly competent apps that provide 90% of functions in complex commercial programs and probably 150% of anything needed by the majority are all designed to be user friendly and generally easy to use. the complaints you have are problems with individual devices that may have been optimised for android. I have a reasonably in-depth knowledge of some iOS apps and their capabilities but it has taken years to gain that knowledge the things that you can do with apple provided free hi quality apps dwarf the android offerings. But that is only of use if you want to do the things they provide. Like high quality video production with iMovie, not as professional as things like adobe premiere but good for most users. High quality presentation software Keynote that does more than most need PowerPoint is possibly better but isn’t free Good quality word processing with Pages, Word can do more but at a price and size I could continue but those are 3 free programs of many that do everything required for teaching at university level. None of my students that used Android phones were able to produce the same quality work without spending a considerable amount. However for those familiar with Android stay with what you know it can probably do everything you want Those who know iOS stay with what you know. a new user should use the same platform as the majority of their friends as they can get help from them. If you don’t have a support group iOS is the more user friendly offering
  5. The thing to use is a battery spot welder (no soldering required), they are cheap for the occasional user (฿1,000 ish). provide virtual instant heat for an extremely short time so the batteries do not suffer from the heat a conventional soldering iron uses. It is the same way that a plasma cutter uses 4 x the heat of the sun (25,000C plasma) to cut but the workpiece can be handled almost immediately after. Compared to an angle grinder which takes much longer heats the metal to around 1,000C and you will get badly burnt if you pick it up immediately without wearing gloves
  6. There you are completely wrong. You can certainly download an .exe file on an iOS device, though there is no point except to transfer it to a device that is capable of using it. You may well need to use a different download capable program to do it but you can. Here is proof, though I forget exactly why I have those 2. As to the supposed restrictions I have not found anything that I wanted to do that I can’t. I have no desire to do most of the bling related things that are touted as being so good. The “restrictions” are often stated as “restrictions” because the user doesn’t know, or want to find out, how to do them. I would me interested to know of a “restriction” that stops me doing anything I want to do.
  7. If you have Android then stay with it because you are familiar with it. If you are in the Apple ecosystem stay with it and enjoy the synergy that it brings. The Apple ecosystem is far more than a sum of the parts and they are designed to integrate and interact. if you want a phone that will have double the supported life the Apple is the only option. if you change phones every couple of years stay with the system you are using because swapping is annoying as you have a learning curve and will get irritated by not being able to do things in the way you are accustomed. if you want cheap buy Android but accept that it is cheap and likely low quality, it maybe exactly what you want. If you want car integration then Apple CarPlay is accepted as the better option. Almost anyone you ask will advise you to buy the phone they use. For me I have tried android and have the resources to never need to inflict it on myself again. I also don’t need a high end phone as my main device is a 12.9” iPad Pro and there is no phone in any system that is half as capable, so I have a low end iPhone that is primarily used for Apple CarPlay and banking. So if you find someone who has exactly the same use case take their advice or buy an iPhone 15 pro max .
  8. Run iOS!
  9. That must be oriented for Australia, though they use a different design, it is certainly not the designed way as proven by the patent application the earth pin should be up ???? or is it the way to attach them to kill off condominium owners? ????
  10. @novacova My apologies, I hadn’t gone beyond checking the prices for SWMBO (I will inherit her iPhone 13). On previous releases timeframes it’s probably going to be available around November
  11. Apart from the specs, the reason is that is isn’t android it’s iOS so the supported life is double. You can decide if you want one of the best available phones or you want a cheap android phone. Some people like iOS, some people like android. Some people like quality and life support, some people like android. Some people want the best, some people want android. Just because you dislike iOS is no reason to bash it. An equivalent Android phone will be more expensive if you factor ROI and about the same ignoring ROI Your Oppo 37 is not remotely equivalent.
  12. Available to order today shipping starting on September 22nd including in Thailand and available in Apple stores and suppliers like banana, Studio7, AIS etc
  13. The information that you need is something like this this shows the amount that an old battery will deteriorate in time, in this case if I wanted to use this on battery power I would need to get this one replaced
  14. There is significant debate on the subject of those valves, it was something I read in passing a reasonable time ago so don’t recall the details or origin but one thing that rings a bell was that they are less than reliable and are reasonably often installed in the wrong location, so given that you are in a condominium you need to find a very competent plumbing engineer to advise on the suitability benefits and concerns
  15. Just an update, I decided that the Jasic MIG160D will be likely to suit my needs and since I don’t like the hardwork of using a hacksaw and my brother has been significantly generous I’ve decided on also getting the JASIC cut 40 the advantage of the plasma cutter is that I’m not restricted to straight lines as an angle grinder or grinding chop saw are. For the mixed gas I have been in contact with TNO in Khon Kaen and when the machine arrives I’ll be getting a bottle from them. In the meantime I decided to get a bottle of CO2 (฿1,640) and another of Argon (฿1,645) since they are more easily available and about half the price of the C20 or C25 from Khon Kaen and I may well give TIG welding a try and can use the CO2 to see if the C25 it needed. I have also got a true colour, huge view area, mask on the way via AliExpress that will be an upgrade on the current self darkening mask I bought over 10 years ago, that was more expensive, I am a little surprised at the advances in technology, though I decided that welding masks that cost over ฿5,000 were all rather more expensive than hobby welding needed. or over ฿10,000 or even one at over ฿17,000
  16. I believe that's an over exaggeration, I thought it was about a ratio of 1.5-2 to 1, Yes a 7 -> 1 is unusual, no the usual is not “a ratio of 1.5-2 to 1” it is usually around 4 to 1 low water pressure will increase the water used. https://waterdefense.org/water-filter/reverse-osmosis/waste-water/
  17. Your idea of removing them and taking them to the correct place is the best. An automotive repair shop will have the capability of doing the finishing, though they may require surface prep to be done first and may refuse the job as they have no idea of the substructure.
  18. You are completely out of touch and probably don’t understand the logistics. if you are buying pre made fixed size kitchen cabinets, like IKEA, you will get the whole unit for that kind of price, but this is only because they are pumping out hundreds in a day, so due to economies of scale they are as cheap as can be, they are not very bad quality but they are plastic wrapped chipboard. But for custom size custom style custom material you are going bespoke. Also you are not going to the maker so they are doubling the makers price. I have the capability to make your doors and so am very well aware of the step’s involved, at ฿2,500 from the kind of place you describe you are getting lowest cost materials available. Pay that directly to the craftsman and it’s getting better but it’s still cheap. custom cabinets (or just doors) are going to cost 5 to 10 times the prices of bulk prefab units. it’s like wanting Rolls Royce quality for the price of a Yugo
  19. Quality leather is available, however you first have to find it and understand the structure of the leather and why the high quality of the particular softness that you want is unlikely to be cow or bull hide. There is certainly a lot of reasonable quality leather in the states. However you probably want pig skin or calf skin and that is much less available. You can buy heavier duty leather in Thailand, I have a buffalo skin leather jacket that is probably 40 years old and was in daily use for about 20 years that has been relined several times and if I still rode and my waist hadn’t expanded would be in use today. Good quality leather is not cheap and never has been, if you find cheap leather then it isn’t the layer that you want and it will wear fast.
  20. Using trade names for products that are not available in Thailand, rather than describing exactly what they are and how they are used will get fewer, if any, helpful replies.
  21. Go back and actually read what was written not what you have imagined was written, you might then actually understand, though I don’t know if you have that ability given that you often misunderstand and like to use ad hominem insults.
  22. You are correct I didn’t (you win a banana ????;) . The advantage or disadvantage depends on your view point. However I did mention 1 post paid advantage though I didn’t hold your hand and specifically call it that, that is being able to have 1 number with 2 SIM cards one pure data in my tablet the other in my phone with the same data pool and voice. You can now put your big boy pants on and do your own research.
  23. There are numerous advantages of using prepaid vs postpaid or postpaid vs prepaid One is only better depending on your personal usage, situation and requirements. Neither is the correct answer for everyone. One is better for you. Personally I have 1 phone with 2 phone numbers, 1 post paid 1 prepaid, the prepaid number has 2 SIM cards 1 is used on that phone and the other my tablet. That works for me but probably isn’t correct for you.
  24. Just because you haven’t experienced a problem proves nothing. I have had a phone that decided to stop functioning after about 3 minutes into a call unless it was in the outflow of the car’s AC, so far a replacement battery may have been the answer.
  25. Changing a sheet of glass (though by itself it’s probably not going to make a huge difference unless going from virtually zero IR rejecting to high rejection glass) is not going to be particularly expensive. The glass in IGUs isn’t very expensive either (FWIW I am currently replacing 6 units in the U.K. that have failed after 40 years so I am well aware of costs), but the cost of the frames is a different matter. There are very many kinds of glass available and a simple tint is probably just going to effect visible light and do little to reduce IR, while a high IR rejecting glass will not have a big effect in the visual range. You can go from 84% heat transmission to 20% transmission
