  1. Bring out the tanks !

Once tanks start rolling into the crowds of red shirts they will soon disperse !

Then get the water cannons out and give them an early Songkran !

Have the tanks fire a few over head warning shots !! that'll surely work !

And of coarse , find the leaders and put em' in jail.

THE NATION: tanks/armoured vehicles have been seen in Bkk today.

    What did I say earlier .... :)

  4. It's about time! Totally justified for all the world to see.

A message to the good people of Thailand.

I can tell you with confidence the vast majority of foreigners support your honorable PM Abhisit in his valiant effort to fight anarchic red shirt's illegal attempt at revolution and the rule of a violent mob. Good luck to and best hopes for a PEACEFUL resolution.

And how would you know"the vast majority" of foreigners support Abbisit? And with confidence? Have you personally polled all foreigners living in thailand? What a dumb post that is

No , he is right...any person with the slightest savvy of intelligence supports Ahbisits government...

It is illegal to block roads , smash parlimentary gates !! , cause shops to close !!

These red shirt chiefs are criminals !! arrest them and water cannon the rest !!

enough is enough ! get rid of these protests ... Thailand has sufferred severe embassasment and needs to act now.

If there is anyone on this forum that agrees with the red shirt action then you have lost the plot as well ...

What next ... throw more blood around ? !! :)

  5. Kewl display - I wouldnt do it, but I give them credit they set out and did what they said they would do. Visuals are powerful and this one is wicked. :D

'Wicked' in the old sense of the word, yes, perfectly vile and nasty. What an absolute disgrace to the country are these awful 'red shirts'. This has nothing whatsoever to do with democracy or justice, it is all to do a bunch of people, fooled by that evil ex tyrant Thaksin, trying to regain for him a whole load of loot that he stole from the Thai people in the first place. The 'red shirts' are a complete and utter disgrace and should fall on their knees and deeply apologise to all Thai people for their grotesque behavior. :)

    Agree 100% ... just a disgusting act.

Oh well .... next show ... buy your tickets now .. lol

  6. it's not that often that protesters draw their blood (or go on a hunger strike or burn themselves - as Vietnamese monks did) to bring an attention of the world to their plea

they certainly brought the attention of the world to their plea :

    a very sick one .

    a silly theatrical show .

The world will surely see this as a ridiculous act and only destroy their cause even further.

The Thais are sick and tired of the red shirt brigade. They need to go back up country and let the progress of Thailand move forward. It will be better for all in the long run ... do you think it's any good now with these silly show acts ?

    I think not ...

    :)

  7. The OP obviously has a gripe with Jack Golf .

I was on that same bus and no one complained about the brief wait for the passport return or the wait for the bus.

The OP has tried to discredit Jack GOLF for no real apparent reason and therefore the post should be considered as trolling.

OMG , you had to wait 15 min for the bus to return so you could board.

Your in Thailand , and of coarse the staff would take insult on the request for a taxi. You obviously do not understand thai culture and you expect everything to be exactly to your liking.

Well , guess what, it ain't gunna happen.

As a thaivisa administrator , I would delete your post as you are trying to discredit the company based on non-factual information.

Please take another bus next time and see how it goes.

    :)

  8. Well does sound like just lads having a laff at sorts. Hard to say without being there. Any rate if their behaviour was clearly upsetting then they should have said smth to him in thai. If you do not make a point then how is the lad to correct his behavior?

Yeah , sure the lads were having a laff ..( is that laugh ? ) at the expense of the thai lady in question. So as you said ' Any rate if there behaviour was clearly upsetting then they should have said something to him in thai ' Are you kidding me ... so it's ok to carry on like because he didn't know better until someone explains it to him that it's ot ok. ????

Not sure on your reasoning there but i disagree.

    Anyway. only my opinion.

    :) cheers

  9. I believe you can walk but please allow approximately 2-3 just for the travel , you need to add another 2 hours on for the Airport checkin and flight departure so probably make it 5-6 hours depending on your baggage.

The average person walks 5klms per hour. So this is based on the distance being 5klms.

If the International Airport is 20 kilometers from LCC as a previous post mentioned ( which I do not agree as correct ) then you better allow around 5-6 hours + 2 hours check in.

There are shuttle buses that are not expensive or a taxi will be suffice at about $10.

    :)

  10. onoz not a visa fee!!! better change your travel plans ASAP!

I was thinking the same thing. It's shacks without fans to make up for extra cost of the visa. :)

Exactly, do you guys who support a free visa think that because the Visa fee is waived that people will change there holiday travel plans. If you do then , WAKE UP !!!

I think that since the Visa Fee was waived there have been 0 actual tourists who decided to come to thailand because they could save on the Visa Fee.

Why the hel_l would anyone change there holiday plans and revert to thailand just because the Visa fee was waived. I THINK NOT !! and if you think they did then you are badly misguided.

    JMHO.

    :D

  11. You could visit Soi 7 Beer Garden. Its not that far in a taxi and when you arrive there is so much to see and do.

On arrival you will probably be greeted by another westerner zig zagging his way toward the front enterance.

Once inside you can sit and enjoy the a cool refreshing drink while listening to the many tunes being played.

After viewing the surroundings for an hour or so you will have the opportunity to chat with all types of people from all walks of life and nationalities , they may be singing and laughing , you may be lucky enough to catch that special snapshot to take home.

You can chat and enjoy the atmosphere for hours while not even leaving Bangkok.

Truely a memorable experience not to be missed by any would be traveller.

    :)

  12. It is not wise to ignore a security guard. His job however menial , is to ensure the security of the place in question , and as such may have the authority to refuse you permission to enter. It could result in your day being completely ruined.

I think it would be more sensible to respond to the guard accordingly , should he indicate to you that the closing for applications is past and you cannot lodge your paperwork,

I would say I am sorry for being late and offer some minor financial assistance to assist him as needed.

Who really cares about an extra 200-300 baht as long as you get what you came for.

Why be a cheap charley all your life...

The Visa is free anyway , so why worry about an issue as small as this. OMG what next.

    :)

  13. Is it just me or did a few of the comments here miss the point.

It is a survey of ' The dirtiest hotels ' and it states that thailand tops for the dirties in Asia.

Not the best price in the USA , nothing to do with hiring a motorhome because it would be extremely difficult to manouver into Sukhumvit Soi 5. Nothing to do with 300 baht a night rooms .....

It is a thread that is about the dirtiest hotels.

    :)

  14. Hello Mexican food lovers !!

Looking forward to our La Monita review coming up this week ... will post you all soon. !! ( read all the posts and most seem happy enough )

Also, our Los Cabos should be included in that post.

We have eaten at every Mexican restaurant in Bangkok.

Senor Pico - Good food overall but this is a bit expensive & caters for more upmarket dining.

Tacos & Salsa - Not to bad although we found the beef & food generally is quite bland although it may be alot better now from what I have heard.

Sunrise - This reminds me of what we called ' Taco Bell ' ' cafeteria' type food. Our team didn't think this as our higher rating, it's kinda like a fast food joint. But many do like the food.

Coyotee's - Atmosphere great , looks and feels like a good restaurant. Food is quite tasty ..the beef is good. Both Sukhumvit & Convent serve good mexican.

Charlie Browns - I'm not sure where car number plates on the wall fit into mexican food. But I remember when this place first opened we went many times as there Nachos were so huge !! shredded beef . good cheese & sour cream ( thick ). It rated very good.

Bourbon St - For a Mexican buffet this place scored quite well on our ratings. The food is always fresh and there is a good variety.

Larrys Dive - The food was ok , but it is not in the league of our top three.

There have also been others we travelled to that have come and gone !

there use to be one over in Silom years ago named ' fiesta ' or similar that was quite good. Also one down the back of soi 23 called Maria .

    Good Mexican food -

    Fresh corn chips

    Shredded beef

    Thick sour cream

    Tasty Salsa

    Include taquitos in the menu

Authentic tacos - using lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, salsa, beef or chicken

    Hot Jalepinoes

Also offer Tabasco sauce or similar

A reasonably good quality cheese always fresh and spreads well.

    Corona of course.

Atmosphere plays a big part in where our group eat & if the surroundings compliment the type of food then thats a big plus.

    Cheers, :)

  16. I had coffee with Thaksin about four years ago.

Well , I didn't actually have coffee with him ... I had coffee in the same Starbucks as him on Luang Suan.

We met at the door upon entering , I :) to him and he returned the gesture. He had about four bodyguards in suits following him.

I also met Elvis Presley a few weeks back on Sukhumvit , but geeeeez he looks a lot older now and a bit rougher around the edges. I believe he's been in hiding in a hotel near Nana someone mentioned.

  18. What a strange thread!

Someone starts it off by saying 'I've bought a house' then other people jump on him 'oh no you haven't' ...'oh yes i have!' then others arrive, defending him and attacking the attackers.....seeing as it's pantomime season i wonder if there'll be a happy ending and a song?

now where's that pesky villain?......'BEHIND YOU!'

Yes ..... this thread has run off the rails !!

    Anyway .... what's the OP's question ?

I'm not a big fan of Samui , but if he provides me the air ticket and accomodation I will come down ....

just let us know when and where the house warming is .... :)

    cheers !

  19. If successful (which I doubt) the real losers will be Thai teenagers who could never afford the ridiculous prices that the big labels charge for goods they produce using cheap labour. As far as I am concerned if piracy puts these companies out of business then it is a victory for common sense!

Absolutely agree !! I hope the companies that produce these original products go broke !!

Most of them are greedy cheats that employ cheap labour , dodge tax's and so on ...

The person buying a copy will never be able to afford the original and probably wouldn't buy it anyway if they had enough money so please explain to me how that affects the sales / profit for these corporations ?

How can someone buying a copy rolex watch or a copy gucci handbag hurt these money hungry corporations ??

The street shop selling the copy employs 3 thai's , they in turn buy food on the street that help the food vendor , they also pay rent at home and for there space on the street. Also they send money home for there parent's.

So a crackdown on copy selling is purely a cosmetic show as pressured by the US !!

I hate US corporation fat cats , I hate bank CEO's , I generally don't have time for these cheats and liars.

Good luck to the vendors ..... and I bet if you ran a poll and asked most people what they think about selling fake goods , the majority would say the same.

    In my opinion.

    cheers. :)

  20. It's not law yet. It's been passed by the council, signed by the Mayor, but isn't law until it passes Congressional review. Congress has 30 days (counting only days they are in-session) to review it, and can overturn it. But if Congress does nothing, it becomes law after the review period expires.

There is a lot of political horse-trading going on around the health care bill, and that process isn't over, so we must all hold our breaths for a few weeks longer.

I wish Thailand would pass a law that accepts gay marriage !!

    Thais should pressure the government.

    JMHO.

    :)
