  1. Not surprised you're missing the point when you can't even work out how quote a post correctly.
  2. Could it be the receipt for payment mYBE, I've had that before with re-entry permit payments
  3. From what I've read whenever this topic comes up 1 bank in particular is always mentioned, I would never use said bank as a result. Doesn't exactly inspire confidence as a depositor in their internal control systems and the checking of them from within.
  4. Thanks all for the helpful replies. ????
  5. Using this thread to ask if anyone knows the best place in Pattaya/Jomtien to get replacement A/c remote controls, my A/c's are LG. I guess the cleaning guys would know, just wondered if anyone has had to replace theirs.
  6. Out of curiousity if you are okay to share how did the occupancy % turn out on the first attempt ? Hopefully you'll get a smooth and successful run next time.
  7. The OP - YOU - posted an incredibly helpful link to an agent that apparently handles renewal of US passports. I'd recommend it's probably easier and quicker to take your own advice and contact them directly with all your questions.
  8. " Where Westerners met local women " - sleazy sex prowlers negotiating with street hookers, it must be uncomfortable for them now with no shade.
  9. I once saw in recent years a pick up truck from a well known late night venue in the middle of walking street, ( the exterior was emblazoned with their logos ), offloading a full load of the woman with kids gangs, (Cambodians ), in walking street late at night. It must be a big earner and clearly an organised operation. Expect Pattaya to fill up with the nefarious as we enter high season, 2 1/2 years lost tourist income applies not only to legitimate business, and worth bearing in mind the police have likely lost out more than most.
  10. As well as the expansion of U-Tapao, fly them right in.
  11. Don't expect to, which is why Leaver can only continually deflect, go off topic, speculate generally about the future rather than produce any compelling current real world evidence of a significant change in the viability of the Pattaya hospitality scene. No-one denies the odd place will close as per normal.
  12. Economically it will have a positive effect on not only surrounding businesses but the city overall by bringing in more customers. You only need to look at how modern day Las Vegas transformed itself through a casino plus entertainment based model to see the benefits it could bring.
  13. I was referring to posters on this thread on this forum, weren't you in your original post ? The fact you keep having to ask posters to name bars they've been to that they thought were busy rather than them voluntarily naming them doesn't sound like owners pushing their business which was my point. Virtually all the posts refer to bar areas rather than specific businesses.
  14. I went for laminate flooring when I bought my condo from new, one of the companies selling in Homepro, ( Leowood ). I can't remember the exact fitting cost but I don't think it was anything as high as that so I'd recommend double checking in person in-store. The one thing I forgot to do was to buy some extra pieces for potential damage replacement, I can't get an exact match now.
  15. I think we've seen during Covid that those with vested interests in the bar industry here have set up their own social media channels communicating quite effectively and directly to their customer base, I've never got the impression that posters on here are anything other than customers.
  16. I daresay those coming this high season will appreciate the lack of Chinese tour buses clogging the place up, like you I prefer Pattaya without that aspect of tourism growth. A few years ago the growth of Pattaya tourism was qualified by those unhappy to see the city doing well that it's down to the Chinese and Russians and they are not big spenders, now the numbers are down the absence of those supposedly low spending Chinese and Russians are a disaster for the city. What a u-turn. ????
  17. Is the closure of your favourite bar or restaurant imminent ? Anyone ? ????
  18. Why would anyone want to dilute potential returns by lumping in a load of dud hospitality venues in with ones you think are going to be successful, no sound investor adopts that approach ? I wouldn't invest in every hospitality venue, I'd prefer to invest in the ones I think have a long-term investable track record with, The Sportsman or The Hopf would be a couple of that sort.
  19. 2019 : Vietnam tourists to Thailand - 1,048k Thai tourists to Vietnam - 510k I guess Thais want a bit more than a world record breaking cable car ride. ????.
  20. No I'd had to save up a week for the blowout, I think it was 129.
  21. Thought I'd give the newish Jomtien one a try, ordered the particular daily "special" of Chicken and Cashew nuts ( I'd read decent reports of their Thai offerings ), not 1 single cashew nut in evidence and with the main ingredient being sparse I left hungry and disappointed. I was going to say it's a definite case of you get what you pay for, but in my case I didn't ????.
  22. I eat in many of the varied restaurant choices in Central regularly and I don't mind some of Minor Group's food outlets either. I like their diversification both locally and internationally from an investment viewpoint, spreads the risk.
  23. I hadn't realised just how big the expansion of U-Tapao was until I saw the details yesterday as the project kicked off. A planned annual capacity of 60 million visitors with 124 landing slots. Wouldn't be surprised to see airlines like Vietjet flying directly here to capitalise on Pattaya's growing popularity with Vietnamese tourists.
  24. I wouldn't know about those bars, I've chosen never to put a baht of my money into that group's coffers.
