Don't forget those naughty soldiers firing into a temple and killing the nurse will you. And if you think the current lot are whiter than white and are squeaky clean then I pity you. Do you think that the bomb/mine detectors really worked, or the army blimp was a great buy? How about the aircraft carrier with no aircraft, or the submarines with no engines or perhaps the F35? And you think that Thaksin was ripping the country off?

There is that word again IF IF I get the numbers right I can win the lottery. IF I get a full nights sleep I will be happy. IF is really whataboutery, and until it proceeds further, IF is a waste of time. -
There are now 140 STRYKER APCs in Thailand and where are they all based? In barracks in and around Bangkok, instead of the South where they are desperately needed.

Just because it is written in the constitution doesn't mean very much. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Constitution_of_Thailand#:~:text=Siam (today known as Thailand,of absolute monarchy in 1932.&text=Charters have traditionally been temporary instruments%2C promulgated following military coups. he Constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand (Thai: รัฐธรรมนูญแห่งราชอาณาจักรไทย; RTGS: Ratthathammanun Haeng Ratcha-anachak Thai) provides the basis for the rule of law in Thailand. Since the abolition of the absolute monarchy in 1932, Thailand has had 20 charters or constitutions (as of 2015), an average of one roughly every four years.[1] Many changes followed military coups, reflecting the high degree of political instability in the country. After each successful coup, military regimes abrogated the existing constitution, generally without public consultation. Constitutions can be amended, rewritten or simply torn up and a new one put in its place.

Thaksin and his sister Yingluck were elected by a free and fair election by the people of Thailand. Any military coup is treason against the elected government. Yingluck was still the PM of a caretaker government and was planning the next free and fair election for the Thai people. As for the outstanding charges against them both, they were brought as a result of 2 military coups. What I find difficult to understand is that not one member of any military coup (and Thailand has had many) has ever been brought to a trial.

Lucky old you in Thailand with a young wife
billd766 replied to webfact's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Sorry. but I am 21 years older than my wife and this year we celebrated our 22nd wedding anniversary and we knew each other for 7 years prior to that. Of the 20 or so foreign friends that I have, most of us have been married 15 or more years and some for nearly 30 years. To my knowledge only 2 have been divorced and one died recently. -
I ran more speed tests this morning after physically disconnecting my lan cable. With the vpn selected or not it made no difference. There was a very small improvement but nowhere the speeds I should be getting. I have tried downloading a new set of drivers from 2 different sites and while they reported 24 drivers from 613 need updating, unless I paid them they would not update the drivers. It is Tuesday afternoon and as I will be up in Kamphaeng Phet anyway on Thursday I will drop the pc off at the shop I bought it from and let them sort it out. Thank you to all of you who gave helpful advice, and to the poster who called me a troll, thank you for nothing.

Only if you don't want it to add up. Nobody can forecast accurately even 2 weeks ahead let alone months or years. -

So what, with all of those votes, Trump STILL lost. However over 81 million voted for Joe Biden. See how easy it is to make a post with no bias. That took me about 30 seconds on Google. https://www.cfr.org/blog/2020-election-numbers The Popular Vote Biden won 81,283,098 votes, or 51.3 percent of the votes cast. He is the first U.S. presidential candidate to have won more than 80 million votes. Trump won 74,222,958 votes, or 46.8 percent of the votes cast. That’s more votes than any other presidential candidate has ever won, with the exception of Biden. (Third-party candidates picked up 1.8 percent of the votes cast.) -

Have you ever tried to destroy a tank or an aeroplane let alone dozens or hundreds in the full view of the worlds press? To remove all the weaponry would take months of preparation and removal work and extra manpower. But I guess that for a keyboard warrior it is simply a matter of a few clicks on a keyboard. Unfortunately real life is not that simple. Back in the 1960s to move one Squadron of 12 aircraft, 20 pilots and around 100 ground crew from Norfolk to Libya for a month took 3 transport aircraft, 2 weeks of planning and transit flights across France and Malta to get to Libya and these were friendly territories. In addition equipment was already on station when we got there. You think that moving an army and all its support equipment plus the hundreds of men and women over 1,500 km and 2 not really friendly countries to a seaport and then shipping it thousands of km back to the USA is so simple. And that is only the Army, Then you have the USAF with all its man and women power and equipment, some of which can fly out on its own, some can be flown out but the rest will have to be transported. Then of course you have all the support units with their equipment as well. If you have no idea what is involved then a simple comment such as yours quote "So why not demolish them then?" proves to me and to any ex military person how simple you are. BTW the cost of this would be enormous and you would be whining about that too. The cost of demolishing the equipment in front of the worlds news cameras would do incalculable damage to the USA. Why do you think that the Russians abandoned so much when they quit Afghanistan and ther are only across the border. -

Do you have any idea of the amounts of equipment accumulated over 20 years? Obviously not. Have you any idea of the logistics of shipping equipment across half the world? Apart from the fact that most vehicles have to be properly cleaned an disinfected, how do you think that they would get out of Afghanistan in the first place? Each item has a cost value. That means would it be cheaper to leave it behind or take it back. Really heavy items such as main battle tank would have to be put onto transporters and driven to the nearest port. In this case it would most likely be Karachi in Pakistan some 1,400 km one way. They would have to travel about half the distance through Afghanistan via Kandahar and Quetta, being very careful not to stray across the border with Iran. Or directly to Quetta and Karachi some 1,500 km or via the Khyber Pass, Peshawar, Islamabad, Lahore and Hyderabad to Karachi some 1,850 km. They would also need reams of paperwork, passes, passports, diplomatic permissions and paperwork up the ying yang and that is for only a one way one trip journey. They would be moving half an armies equipment across 2 not particularly friendly countries. Just imagine the chaos if the Afghan of Pakistan decided to stop and search every vehicle and every person for drugs perhaps every 50 km. -

Thingamabob, You only speak for yourself and NOT for the whole of the UK. Also speaking as a Brit but only for myself I don't think President Biden (to give him his proper title) hates us Brits at all. He certainly did not betray us over the USA's withdrawal from Afghanistan at all. He inherited yet another FUBAR from EX president Trump and had to run with it. If you believe that Trump is the saviour of the world, the USA and especially of Trump himself then be my guest. But please don't think that you speak for all of the people of the UK, because you do not. You speak only, of and about, yourself. -

Of course not. The crowd of people would not have harmed even a hair on his head. However others may think differently. Perhaps you are right and everybody else is wrong. (But I don't think so). When, where, what, who? How many people in the FBI were charged with being corrupt or any other crime. You have been accusing the FBI. The FBI employs approximately 35,000 people, including special agents and support professionals such as intelligence analysts, language specialists, scientists, and information technology specialists. Do you have any links, reports etc to back this up? The only one I have found so far is this one. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_FBI_controversies#Hillary_Clinton_email_in There is a lot of information about different cases and different people and the report needs to be read in full. -
Thank you for your helpful and useful advice. A nice change from some.

Receiving it and filling in does not take long. The best witnesses I have found are the doctors at the local hospital. IIRC a couple of years ago it was 200 baht. Again going on my ageing memory, I scanned it into my pc and I think I sent a copy off by email and posted the original. There is a 3 month window to do it in. Do I have a problem doing it? No.

So why are you responding to my posts?
-
If that is what you wish to believe then please do so. I have ignored the advice of Bruno 123 so please do not get upset if I ignore your advice as well. After all Bruno knows me so well, or so he thinks. I came to this thread hoping to get some help and advice. Perhaps I was wrong. BTW if you believe that I am trolling please feel free to report me to the moderators, not forgetting to add Bruno123 as you believe him too.

Actually he, if you are talking about me, has not had this problem before. I probably did talk about upgrading to Win 11 a year ago but I didn't bother then, and it is only a thought now. If you had bothered to read my posts on THIS thread you will see that I am asking for help with a completely different problem. Thank you for the link as it is useful to me to look back and see whose advice I took, whose advice I didn't take and whose advice I ignored.
-
Thank you for your advice. At the moment I am trying to update my drivers. There are 24 of 613 that need updating.
-
Actually at this point I have changed nothing. You have neither helped not not helped as I am taking in all the advice before I do anything.
