Of course it has changed- the internet and the mobile phones. Girls are way more expensive in real terms. The nice beaches are destroyed Yes, in some ways it hasn't changed, but in ways that were not that important to me. However, I'd still live there in a heartbeat if I could. I had a far superior lifestyle for less that what I spend here. Weather is nicer too. Some beaches have avoided destruction. I do less well than my parent did on her pension, and I was paying tax for that. Health care is worse that they got.

Illegals are criminals and not US citizens. IMO they have no right to "rights" in the first place. Pandering to illegal criminals is woke and if it's gone, good job. Seems to be a cohort of posters on here that think the rest of the world has a right to come and live in the US if they manage to cross the border. Would that Thailand was as easy to go live in- I'd be turning up on a rubber boat myself. Unlikely. Certain countries seem to always be controlled by monsters eg Russia with Stalin and China with Mao. When one dies they are replaced by another. When Egypt threw off the yolk for a short time it wasn't long before Mubarak was replaced by worse and after them one as bad, IMO.

Why join the military and suffer abuse and poor conditions when one can go on the dole? I lasted over a decade, but in the end the abuse got to me and I resigned. Never regretted it, as I was starting to hate being in it. Got taken over by a bunch of losers and bullies.
