Houses cost a fraction in real terms of what a house costs now, health care was far superior 30 years ago ( the care, not medical procedures ), movies and music were far better in the 70s than the PC garbage they put out now, even tv was better.

If a foreigner annoys the locals then yes they are to blame. Most tourists are polite, don't annoy the locals, and have no problems at all during their visit. Seems it's not just guys entering Thailand that leave their brains at the airport. I don't think it's hard to understand what happened. In Saudi, female nurses from abroad, especially blonds, were able to get loads of presents including gold for attending parties in the desert, but I never heard of one getting battered while doing so. We males were never invited though, surprise surprise, surprise.

Not me. My phone is over 20 years old and does what I need- lets me talk to other people. End of the year I'll be forced to buy a <deleted> phone as they will not support whatever makes my phone work, though I will only be using it as a phone, and no <deleted> aps. For a start, Thailand is in SEA where feet are the preferred method of fighting. Did you never watch a Bruce Lee movie? As I said, behave and the chances of being attacked are minimal. I was wandering around in Pattaya all hours of the night and never had a problem, but I wasn't an abusive drunk like so many farangs are.
