That must have been a different debate to the one I saw. When even the Democrat side on the after debate analysis on CNN thought it was a disaster for Biden it likely is. They were all saying that top guys in the Democrat party are aghast, and wondering what to do, so it's serious. The best comment that came out was that the election is not about Biden ( if he is still the candidate ), but about president Harris. Right now in the US, in every Democrat institution, likely there is fevered debate going on about where they go from here, given the unmitigated disaster that Biden was. As Biden IS the candidate, they can't just slide someone else in, and it only changes if he agrees to it. As for Trump, he was himself, brash, arrogant, lies left and right etc, but at no time did he look as if he was off in space somewhere else, he didn't look like he was going to fall over, he uttered understandable sentences, and he looked energetic, fired up and ready for business. Biden looked like an old old man that should be in a nice armchair having a cocoa and watching tv before going to bed.

Perhaps you can point out just how Ukraine is winning. Another counteroffensive on the horizon, perhaps, or how they saved Avdiivka from capture by Russia. If not that, how the F 16 is going to win the war for Ukraine, just like the Leopard did.

BTW, a favourite propaganda tactic is to denigrate the opposition by telling lies about them, and keep doing so in the hope that if one tells a lie often enough people will believe it. If that's the case then likely the Russians will ensure the F16s don't fly. I'm sure they are storing up drones and missiles to destroy every landing site. Apparently F16s can't take off from rough surfaces. Brilliant thinking by the designers, not.

IMO it was never supposed to work. It was supposed to shut up those that pointed out that the US was colluding in starving the population, but it would never have provided anywhere near enough supplies. Only a few trucks used it in its brief existence. Had Biden been serious they could send a very large landing craft that doesn't need a pier. I assume the US still has some of those. It does alarm some of us that are amazed the US Corps of Engineers can't build a pier fit for purpose. Didn't make sense that Biden didn't force netanyahu to allow the hundreds of trucks waiting at the land crossings, and does nothing much when settlers destroy the supplies. IMO Biden is as much to blame as netanyahu, and is colluding all the way.

It's a squabble between 2 ex Soviets that IMO became a war because the US neocons thought they could bleed Russia. Zelensky can decide what he likes if he is paying the bills, but he's not and the west will decide for him when they can no longer justify giving him all the money. it also increases the chances Putin will end up hanging from a lamppost, Mussolini-style, if a few of his fellow kleptocrats decide they can do better. And you overstate Russia's position -- 2.5 years in, Russia has made few substantive gains beyond the first few months. They likely have what they want, and don't need any more. They straightened the line, didn't they? They can dig in there and hold it no matter how many Leopards Ukraine gets sent. BTW, the ones they had were not exactly a rousing success, and I haven't heard of any more been posted to Ukraine. What are you doing, living in your car ? Almost. Rental prices are out of control in NZ. People are living in cars, garages, etc. Even a ratty old caravan costs large now. Hundreds of families living in motels, subsidised by the government. There is a shortfall of thousands of houses since they brought in loads of immigrants. I had a lovely large hotel room with ensuite in Chiang Mai for less than I pay here, and I think I'm lucky to even have it. If I lose this I will be living in my car. Pension doesn't come close to paying for renting a decent place and eating as well. I don't even have space for a table. The computer is on my bed.
