Do you believe in God and why
thaibeachlovers replied to ivor bigun's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
The question is surely "what designed nature", which to me is "God". Nothing that has been created by man happened by "magic", so why is it that people that don't believe in God must believe that the universe happened from nothing ie "magic"? -

IMO the Catholic Church was always a political entity ( it does after all have it's own "country" ), but it carries the seeds of it's own destruction within it. Any organisation that tries to force it's employees to go against the genetic imperative of reproduction is in for trouble. In the times before society became "moral" ( or at least pretended to be, as in Victorian times when an exposed woman's ankle was titillating, but prostitution was rife ) I assume they just ignored the celibacy directive. These days the church is consumed by exposed historical sexual obscenities against young boys. IMO unless the church sees the light and changes to allow marriage, in the long run it is doomed. -

How difficult is it to get a divorce? (continuing saga)
thaibeachlovers replied to notrub's topic in Marriage and Divorce
LOL. If you don't want to be married to her why would you let her have anything after you die? If this is actually a serious post ( YOU didn't own any land, even if you paid for it, so YOU were not "gifting" it ), and you have millions just walk away and enjoy using them to have a happy life. After two years she can apply for a divorce based on abandonment. PS you may have a legal right to use the land etc, but good luck with that if she doesn't want you there. -
In case of divorce down the road Isn't that the real thing to be worried about? Given it's only 50% likely that you won't be divorced, if you are feeling that lucky go buy a Lotto ticket. BTW, don't change to a marriage visa, so when you get divorced you don't have to leave LOS. Pre nup? Not completely sure she is the great love of your life for ever and ever then? Best do one in either country that you have assets worth anything in.

You have a point, except the USA made LEGAL and LAWFUL treaties with them, which they reneged on, so perhaps the US should apologise for not keeping their side of a treaty, and provide some compensation. Can you imagine the consequences of not abiding by a treaty with Russia or similar? Just because they didn't wear suits it doesn't give the USA a pass for illegally breaking treaties.
-
IMO it's pointless to try and educate the luvvies as to the truth about pre European populations ( and they were not all barbarians ), not that I'm giving a pass to what immigrants did to them. Was there even a single treaty the USA made with native Americans that they didn't break? Apparently even now they will not honour the treaty over the Black Hills of Dakota.

I'm not really worked up about it as to my knowledge she doesn't go around being Chicken Little, but I do believe that whether we believe in man made climate change or not, there is no doubt that pollution from any source is a bad thing for everyone, and producing massive amounts of pollution to get just one person from a to b is NOT a good idea, regardless of who it is. I assume she has a large contingent that also need to travel to shows with her, so rather than ( I assume ) letting them all fly cattle class commercial, she could charter a larger plane to take everyone, including herself, but perhaps she is too special to travel with the peasants workers.

How does it feel knowing that you are part of the industry that produces probably the worst aspect of modern society's culture of waste? Billions of cars have been made despite them being made not to last, but to be replaced simply because they are "last year's model". Billions of cars have been junked despite them being capable of lasting decades if maintained properly. IMO it's a large part of how vile humanity is, that we rend the earth to make stuff to throw away. I drive a car made in Japan that was rendered unusable there simply because it was over 10 years old. I will probably have to stop using it because I can't get a mechanical insurance for it in 2 years, and computer cars cost too much to fix as I can't do it myself. Before that I drove a 30 year old car, but rust killed it, not planned obsolescence. -
Women can do everything!

I wasn't referring to being married. It would be surprising if I was as I've said often enough that I despise the institution of marriage as it is in the west. I bet none of them have a problem getting a "date" for the night. -
We have to pass a test to drive a car, we have to abide by certain laws to own a dog, we have to be qualified to be a Dr or a nurse, or a lawyer, but to be a parent, which is more important than any of those we don't need any qualifications at all. I's like to see psychological tests on wannabe parents and any that are obviously unsuitable sterilised. Obviously that's never going to happen, but there should be a penalty for those that make babies and then fail to be a good parent.
-
Never married Probably makes him right on something. Marriage in western countries is no longer a good option for males. Probably don't get sex after the first year and still get most of one's wealth stolen by the courts when the divorce happens. People may not agree with prostitution, but how many prostitutes are suing rich men 20 years later because he was a bit naughty with them?
-
But as anything there will be a counter reaction. I sadly think you are mistaken. I think the enemy within already won, and us poor misguided males just haven't realised it yet.
-
Perhaps, but I only came on to answer the headline, not the OP.

Nikki Haley is trounced by the ‘none of these candidates’ option.
thaibeachlovers replied to Pouatchee's topic in World News
Even more she is just not a nice person, from what I have seen of her. It may be unfair, but a female candidate has to be more appealing ( I'm not talking physically- if that was a criteria Merkle would never have been a look in ) to voters than a male is, and IMO Haley is a fail on that. -
Has The World Gone Mad? I expected something more than a discussion about why the OP doesn't want to be involved with trans people, and he is not in the wrong, IMO, but I came on here expecting a more general discussion of how the world has gone completely barking, so to answer the headline, I give an unqualified YES

And so the exodus of quality expats begins. This time it's personal
thaibeachlovers replied to Galong's topic in Phuket
Samui turned into tourist hell early this century, and I made Phangan my go to location instead. Provided they didn't manage to put the airport in it's probably still a better option than Samui, especially up in the north east. The south is not so good and has it's own tourist hell hole on Hat Rin, but ( at least when I was a frequent visitor ) the rest of the island wasn't infected. Koh Tao became a no go for me decades ago. A classic case of how to destroy a paradise island by overbuilding. -

I have no sympathy for anyone that was foolish enough to think Phuket was a good place to live. It's been a <deleted><deleted> for many years, and I gave up on it entirely this century, except for a visit post tsunami to see the destruction for myself. Sadly they were just rebuilding the same <deleted><deleted> it was before the tsunami. Do some never do any research before choosing where to relocate? There are so many far better places to live in LOS than that place. The OP doesn't mention just where on Phuket Island they live, though I suspect it's Patong, however, I believe there are some nice places on Phuket island on quieter beaches. Probably nicer because farangs don't want to live on them.
