Wittering about GDP etc is a waste of time as it says nothing about "standard of living" as reality for real people. Just spending more does not make people better off. Bhutan is the only country in the world with a sane SOL index as it measure people's happiness, not their money in the bank. I doubt there is any western country where a majority of the people are happy.

I have owned jeans when I cared about what other people thought of me- fitting in with the sheeple. When I wore holes in the legs I cut the legs off and used them as shorts. Eventually they had more mends than not so they were consigned to landfill. Haven't had jeans since the 80s. Been wearing bog standard shorts I bought for 100 baht each in Thailand since the 90s. They have proper pockets. They'll see me out, I'm sure.

My beef with jeans is the lack of proper pockets. The ones they have don't hold much and all those people walking around with their phones poking out of their back pockets are just begging to lose them. They were invented as hard wearing farm clothing, and somehow became an icon of the youth movement, and the most stupid fashion statement of all times is the ripped jeans look, where perfectly good clothing is destroyed.

I scorn your claim. Sea level rise around NZ is about 12 mm a year. If you are claiming that it's over that in other parts of the world I can not take you seriously. There are no stable higher water level rises in one part of the planet than in others, and to say otherwise is a nonsense. IMO it's a fake claim to get stupid western politicians to give lotsacash to poor countries. So far not succeeding very well. The number one thing that might reduce the human impact on the environment is a significant decrease in population, but that is never discussed by the pointless jaunts to exotic destinations by the climate change hypocrites, to which they fly in fossil fuelled aeroplanes.

Who's denying that climate is changing- no one on this forum. What I utterly reject in any shape or form is that no matter what caused it, and that is open for discussion, is that anything that humans can do will have an effect on it, whatsoever. It's propaganda to make money for the 1% and increase taxes. Humans will either adapt to a changing climate, or become extinct. If they stopped spending all the money on bombs, they might be able to mitigate the problem, but there isn't any profit in that so it won't happen.

Perhaps I should start adding a sarcasm emoji to some of my posts. I know enough of the intel/ spook world to know that I despise that it is necessary. If humans can't learn to get along without killing each other, humans are not going to be around for too much longer, and Gaia will be happy about that ( that's not sarcasm ).
