  1. She makes me want to be able to go back to live in LOS.
  2. My first Thai G F had hair that felt like it was stabbing me.
  3. Who's a lucky boy then?
  4. I have no faith in western education to do anything but teach BS, mainly because men are wisely no longer becoming teachers and it's become the lair of woke women. Even in my day school was a waste of my time as they failed to teach me anything of any use in real life. Truth?????? Don't make me laugh.
  5. Good for her seeing the light. It's heartening to see a Euro leader that doesn't believe the BS. Now she needs to go hard on illegals.
  6. struggled to articulate his thoughts clearly, More like he didn't have any thoughts to articulate. He looked like a senile old man that had no clue, and IMO that is what he was. The only way I can explain the decision to let him do the debate is that his minders wanted him to be exposed so he'd have to step aside. I guess that even they recognised having a senile old man as POTUS would not be good for the US, and they could only cover for him for so long before he was exposed for what he was. Would it be treason to knowingly put a senile man up for POTUS?
  7. It is, after Cobra Swamp, where it is built.
  8. I was actually talking about all countries, not just Thailand.
  9. No such thing as a free lunch. The cosplay president better sign if he wants to survive much longer. Apparently he was muttering about "going it alone". Good luck with that .
  10. Which is a good reason for compulsory military training for all. Without training it is natural for people to panic. Probably more die from panic after the event than from the event.
  11. Japan has a history of quakes- Thailand doesn't. I guess that explains it.
  12. Re the vdo of the collapsed building- seems the pillars have disintegrated. Surely that shouldn't happen if have enough rebar?
  13. Plenty farangs cleaning up on Phi Phi, as I saw for myself.
  14. Meanwhile Zelensky is whining that all the aid given in the past was a present from Biden and doesn't have to be repaid in any way. What a moaner- far from being grateful for the assistance, he says he doesn't have to pay anything for it. I wonder how he's going to compensate if Trump cancels any further aid? Oh the Euros will make up the difference . https://www.yahoo.com/news/zelensky-ukraine-not-recognize-old-205331759.html Ukraine is firmly rejecting the classification of US military aid in its fight against Russia's invasion as a loan. "We are grateful for the support, but this is not a loan, and we will not allow it," President Volodymyr Zelensky told journalists in Kiev on Friday.
  15. LOL. More like a poodle yapping, than "bold action". He's probably worried that the peasants might revolt and pitchforks are in short supply.
  16. Other countries are happy to take lots of NZ ex trees. Every day log trains transport thousands of ex trees to the port for export.
  17. Perhaps you haven't noticed, but a significant number of humans now take their orders from social media "influencers" and media people. 'tis but a short step to AI masquerading as humans taking over.
  18. Seems the owners spent more on the fancy facade than quality structure. I suspect a lot of high rise occupants are now wondering if they made the right decision. Perhaps Robert Burns said it best "The best-laid plans of mice and men often go awry"
  19. Looks more like the facade wasn't stuck on very well.
  20. I'm not claiming to be a structural engineer, but shouldn't there be stronger rebar in that column? One can see that the column has reduced in height ( the rebar has bowed out ), which puts the floor above in danger.
  21. I've been in one very strong earthquake in NZ in the 80s. I was at work having tea break and the earth moved for several minutes. I thought at the time that if it was a fun park I'd pay to go on a ride like that. Luckily, no damage occurred ( except to a high concrete chimney which was replaced by a steel one ) and no injuries resulted.
  22. IMO they were lucky that the epicenter wasn't closer. I am also of the opinion that buildings in Thailand are not built to withstand a serious earthquake. I have seen buildings constructed that did not have strong enough pillars or sufficient internal supports, and was thinking at the time that they would collapse in the event of an earthquake. It's not the really big buildings that had expert design that are a problem, but the small 4 or 5 story buildings with no expert design input.
