Common sense says that if one is not a native of the country one is residing in, it behooves one to not upset the people currently running the country if one wishes to remain in said country. I'm not commenting on the right or wrong of it, just on the common sense or lack of it aspect.

Why bring in countries far from the Atlantic if not to expand the world wide wars of America? You mentioned bringing in Israel in the OP. Under NATO every NATO country will be pressured to join in Israel's wars in Lebanon, Syria and Yemen, and ultimately Iran. Not a happy prospect.

IMO, if any of them actually believe that anything they consign to the internet or any electronic medium, no matter the encryption, is not being read in Moscow or China, they deserve to be sat in the naughty corner with a dunce hat on. Good news for the planet. Make new cars too expensive for consumers to buy= less rusting wrecks polluting the environment. Cars are probably the worst things for pollution, given the amount of raw material needed to make them. If cars have to be used for longer and less new ones, a good thing indeed. All green supporting people should be cheering a reduction in new cars.
